I usually don't give bad reviews, because we are dealing with human beings and I usually try to put myself in the clerk shoes, but this one deserves it because the position she hold.
I went to Gabe's this evening with my husband to exchange a thermal shirt that I brought for him for Christmas, that was too small. I went in there and went straight to the register and explained my situation to the clerk and asked what the procedure was.
she said give me the one that don't fit your husband and go get another one, when you comeback any of the cashier's can take care of you. We went in the store and got carried away and start shopping and end up with a full shopping cart. Finally decided that it was time to checkout. Went to the same cashier and when I asked her for the thermal shirt she handed us a pack of underwear, I said that is not what I gave you, she said she can't find the shirt. I said so how do we do the exchange now?
She said she doesn't know, she put the thermal shirt on the counter and somebody took it and put it back. I said let's look for it , do you know who put It back, they call one clerk it wasn't her they called an other one at this point we have been standing at the register for a good 45 minutes before the manager arrive with a little one around her. I believe her name is Willa. I am trying to explain the situation she is not letting me talk, because all she came to tell us was " for us to leave our phone number somebody will contact us when security can look at the recording to see what happen to the shirt I gave the clerk".
I am trying to explain to her that I work almost 7 days a week I don't have time to come back to the store, she told me there is nothing else she can do, she turned her back and started walking with her little one while we are trying to talk to her. Standing there with the clerk, you can see the shame and the misbelieve on her face. I decided to call the police. I explained my situation to the dispatcher , not even 5 minutes after I called the police they found my shirt. The manager never apologized to us after treating us so poorly. When the police arrived we had to let them know that they have found the shirt. After the police officer left, the manager stood next to the counter with a couple of clerk laughing at us, I thought that I was at the twilight zone. I don't know what the deal was with her. I don't know how a store like this can have such a lack of customer service coming from the manager. I believe there is others but this one she Hit the ball out of the park. I am gonna be fair to say that I never been treated like that in a Gabe's store before, or any store in the area where I live. I was so disappointed, I regret going into that store, I got out of there drained, confused, disrespected, with so many unanswered questions. read more
