The first dish we tried was the Calamari ("LIGHTLY DUSTED AND FLASH FRIED SQUID. SERVED WITH A CHIMICHURRI AIOLI AND LEMON SLICES"), which was definitely an above-average version of the venerable dish. After that was a selection of different oysters, and yeah they know what they're doing because they were really tasty. That was followed by Cheddar Biscuits ("MR BONES' FAVOURITE") and Oyster Boy Lobster Poutine ("RICH LOBSTER BISQUE GRAVY SERVED ATOP CRISPY HOUSE CUT FRIES, TOPPED WITH CHEESE CURDS AND FRESH POACHED LOBSTER MEAT"). The buttery biscuits were epic and delicious, and the poutine was super rich and decadent. Perhaps a little too decadent, as the dish probably needed something to cut through the almost overwhelming richness, but it was a tasty item nonetheless. Finally we got the Charred Octopus and Farro ("CHARRED OCTOPUS ON A CHILI PUREE WITH PICKLED MUSTARO SEEDS SERVED WITH A FARRO, ARUGULA AND SHAVED FENNEL SALAD. GARNISHED WITH FRESH CITRUS AND SMOKED SALT"), which was a flavorful and seriously well-prepared concoction. It's not difficult to see why Oyster Boy's been around so long.
