Good selection of food, even selling a few chocolate bars. Excellent customer service. Good place to get a quick lunch.

Okay, this was a surprise find!…read more I had only briefly researched around St Vincent St for coffee to be had at the Port, for a little day photo trip I was taking while catching up with a new friend. There are still many shop spaces vacant around, but this was a well serviced cafe by the local people. They have two main areas for consumers to use - one past the counter, and one as you step inside. They also have some nice seating outside, but its quite shaded early. The floors captured me for the simple wooden-crate-style look they have. Sadly, it would've been a long haul to find all the wood and fit it together, but the replica laminate was a nice warmth to the rooms. Tall ceilings allow for some interesting art to be displayed, and nice rust wired and rustic pieces feature around the cafe, bringing a clean yet rustic feel to the place. The counter of reclaimed random wood was definitely a highlight of the features. Staff were totally lovely and engaging - which is a personal fave for me - and the coffees we had were marvellous. I was really glad to have found a unique place that wasn't too hipster, too populated or too squished in. For a Friday, there was plenty of people to make it an enjoyable atmosphere - but I suspect that they will have many more patrons on weekends! If you are heading out to the Port, I very much recommend visiting this tiny cafe. Theres a Salvo's next door with great priced items - so fellows, you can bring your missus along and while you enjoy the serenity of your hot bevvy, she can spend up small next door.

Super friendly staff with great coffee and a cool hipsters vibe makes this place a new hidden gem…read moredown at the port. There aren't too many places around here that do a half way decent cup of caffeine. This one is an exception.

Queenies is located on the somewhat unregarded Jetty Road at Largs Bay, almost directly opposite…read morethe Largs Pier Bottle-shop. The atmosphere is rustic and casual with an assortment of feel good tunes on the playlist. There is plenty of seating inside and out, and a reasonable selection of wines and other alcoholic beverages on offer. I had a large coffee and the vegetarian breakfast: scrambled eggs on rye, mushrooms, spinach and fried tomato. Queenies' chef has been in the industry for a fair while and it shows. The eggs still had their softness, the mushrooms and tomato were cooked to perfection and the spinach had its texture without leaving a watery mess on the plate. The coffee blend was really smooth and a pleasure to drink (with no need of sugar to disguise bitterness). I've added Queenies to my "Gems of Adelaide" list - will definitely be back here to explore the menu further.

I popped in here yesterday and it was packed or "It's insane in there" as the owner said! It was a…read morebright, sunny day and the Semaphore Music Festival was on a short walk away, hence being so busy. The owners cleverly anticipated it though as the restaurant was well staffed and patrons were well looked after. The atmosphere was bright, happy and buzzing. I was lucky to get a table on the balcony, so I had a view down the street towards the sea. With a bit of a squint it's a sea view! I love being able to see the glorious building that is Largs Pier Hotel. Such an amazing building. I loved sitting outside and the eclectic furniture on the balcony is great. The owner, Louise, saw me straight away and after inquiring whether i was there for lunch (I replied, no just a drink), instead of me needing to wait for the formalities of a menu and time to choose and order, she just anticipated my needs! "Vino? White?" I replied with "A light red - something like a temperanillo". WIthin a couple of minutes she returned with my delicious, light red wine so I could sit and enjoy the atmosphere and view, whilst sipping on something delicious without having to wait. It should be pointed out that Louise did know that I had experience with her wine list before, but that's exactly my point - all patrons seemed to be receiving just the type of service that suited their needs. I'm just disappointed that I'd had a late breakfast and I just wasn't hungry, because i've been craving their rocket salad! Next time I may even cycle there and work up an appetite and work through the menu!

This unassuming little cafe and tiny kitchen produces food that is hard to fault…read more Franjo (head chef and owner) believes eating is not just a necessity but something which can bring enjoyment and conversation to a meal. As a result he creates dishes and that make you stop and take the time to taste, not inhale, your meal because you want to work out what it is that is giving you that zest, zing or zealous mouth sensation. Franjo is often around to play guessing games with on all occassions when he makes mystery juices, adds a certain spice to a soup or a foreign ingredient to the humble citrus tart. The breakfast and lunch menu seems simple to the naked eye but it is one where carefully picked, seasonal ingredients from the Central Markets and home growing friends are blended with great spices to make it pack a punch. They can also adapt most meals to your gf, vego or lacto intolerant needs (if they haven't already been made that way). My biggest tip? Don't shy away from the unusual here, Zedz isn't a place where you feel you have to put up with the ordinary just to eat healthy. Order a freshly squeezed juice of the day, a coffee and one of his infamous soups (Morroccan, Pumpkin and now Nettle) or activated bean burgers and you can justify a gluten free gooey hazelnut & chocolate brownie for dessert.
