Well, no. I gave him a 15 minute grace period before calling him to find out where he was. No answer. Texted him to find out how far out he was. No answer. So I'm guessing he either forgot or he doesn't care. I get it. Austin is a booming town now and these guys have all the business they can handle, but customer service is not just a down economy thing. I can't speak to the quality of Darrell's work because he didn't even show up to scope out the job. He wasted my time and hopefully won't waste yours.

I had a random list of items that came up on the inspection for the house we had just bought that we knew we wanted done. Darrell has a broad knowledge base on home repairs and was able to fix everything on the list quickly, and also gave his recommendation on what could wait (or what would be easy and cheaper for us to just do ourselves). Fast forward a few months-we have continued to call on Darrell for various projects throughout the house. I'm 9 months pregnant and trying to get it all done before the baby comes and Darrell has risen to the challenge. He was able to repair our outdoor kitchen, match the stonework, wire in some new lighting and helped talk us through (and out of) doing a pricey pergola addition (I appreciated his honesty!) He most recently installed closet shelving, matching the existing and mostly useless laundry room shelves (with his perfectionist attention to detail) . Being around during the day while contractors are working in the house, it's nice to find someone who not only knows their stuff but is also just a genuinely nice guy to be around. I'm grateful that we've found a 'Darrell of all trades' handyman that I can call on for whatever comes up with our house over the years.

Not only did he NOT complete the job, he stole our deposit of $1500 and left us with an absolute mess in our home that took a reputable vendor 3 WEEKS to fix - which required stripping the entire walls and ceiling! Before he was even finished, he asked us for the remainder of the $ because he was late on his rent. Completely unprofessional. If I could leave negative stars I would. Incredibly disappointed.

One of the neighbors in the community posted that they had their testing done by Nick, at Multi-Test Solutions for their home. The test results were sent in to an administrator and I received a digital copy also. Can't say enough about this company. Give them a try when your system requires testing. My…read morekitchen came out awful, he gave me less than a day to select products from his suppliers and was slightly irritable it was taking me too long to decide. He took the countertops off in my kitchen then realized he couldn't match the countertops to the island countertop. He also installed countertops different than what I had selected. The trim on the kitchen island has already come off (less than 3 months after completion). Instead of installing toe kicks he put in baseboards which do not go all the way up and now there is a gap under my kitchen cabinets which lets in quite the breeze when it is cold. I told him about all of my issues and he didn't care. He didn't bother to even 'try' and fix anything that I had issues with and just got his money and walked away. I hate the way my kitchen turned out and told him that to no avail.

The scope was broad (plumbing, framing, stair flooring, electrical, tile, painting). The attention to detail was superb, even with a pretty wide scope of work. David's company stands out from all of them with their attention to detail, communication, and workmanship. We threw some scope changes their way, and it was handled with the utmost professionalism. They also completed touch-up work in a timely manner after the project was finished. Whether it is this home or a future home, David will be our first and last call for any remodeling.

He submitted a bid the next day as he said he would. His bid was the middle of 3. The job required a very quick turnaround - he said he could get it done in the time allotted and he did. He is a meticulous craftsman who knows what he's doing; he has an excellent work ethic. His bid/bill was well thought out, not just a ballpark. When we provided paint he had expected to purchase, he backed it out of the cost. When we asked him to install a plug where we had not originally planned, he added it in. Oh, and he cleaned up each day of the job, which accounts for a lot when the job is in the middle of your house! Bottom line: we thought he was great and will definitely use him again! * Job included installing 4 windows, moving around electrical, installing sheetrock, trimming it out and painting.

Instead, it was about everything that made practical sense for my family, my stage of life, and my needs. The design we came up with was perfect for what I needed, I just needed a builder to execute it. I interviewed probably four to five builders before I chose Art and Corker Custom Homes. Some builders I interviewed thought it was too strange of a plan and they weren't comfortable with it. Others wanted to build their house, not mine. Art, on the other hand, was all in from day one to execute the plan and give us the house we wanted. Along the way, like any custom build I imagine, little things came up. Problems were solved efficiently. Changes were accommodated with patience. And everything rolled along basically on schedule. When it was all over with, I had the house I wanted and have been absolutely thrilled the last two years. Art was right there on any punch list and warranty items and to answer any questions I had. I recommend Corker Custom Homes and Art Corker for any custom building needs you have!
