Communication: One of the first things you'll notice with Eli and his team is the tremendous amount of communication. He'll talk you through everything, provide recommendations as necessary, and answer any questions. On top of that, Eli sent us multiple updates every day that we were out of the house to keep us aware of what was happening. Pictures, video, text explanations, and he was always available for a call. It really put my mind at ease that the house was well taken care of in our absence. He ran the outside taps when it froze, kept the house at the temperature we requested, and cleaned up everything after. He also made us aware of little things like how the paint color we picked for baseboards didn't match the existing trim. With everything he did, made sure that we would be happy with the finished product. Quality: The workmanship is outstanding. The tile is cut and laid beautifully, with no hollow sounds when walking. My father used to lay tile back in his day, so trust me when I say it was well inspected after! Our walls have rounded corners, so it was very nice of Alter Construction to cut and round the baseboards instead of leaving them sharp. It looks very clean now. Attention to Detail: What really makes the work stand out is the team's attention to detail. They replaced a section of baseboards that wasn't in the work area to make them match because they were visible from the living room. They were kind enough to reinstall our baby gates at a higher position because the new baseboards were taller than the old ones. They even patched a hole in the carpet of one of our bedrooms with the scraps they pulled up from the living room. This wasn't something that we had asked them to do, they just took the initiative to really make everything nice for us when we came home. The project we just did was replacing an ugly bathtub with a shower enclosure. The area was torn down to the studs and redone. The tile floor was also replaced with nicer tile. Most of the time if you go to a place like Home Depot, Lowes, or a general contractor like State Wide Remodeling (or others) they simply sub out the work and double the price. Such a complex project is inherently challenging and stressful - especially over many years. But Roman always found a way to carefully guide the project, ensuring it was completed successfully and to my liking. (And I'm pretty sure I'm the most picky client he's ever worked with!) Out of this huge pile of work, there was exactly one thing that ever required 'warranty' service. Roman showed up the next day and got everything right, no questions asked. We completely regret choosing this company. They damaged our beautiful new hardwood flooring by…read moreputting burn marks all over it from welding, damaged our new stairs as well with countless burns scattered throughout. So many things were done without thought, see list below. 1. Countless black burn marks all over our light colored real hard wood flooring and stairs from welding, not properly covering the area. 2. Delays with shipment then began installing the wrong railing. 3. Completely sloppy work, paint bleeds all over floors from baseboard painting, had to point this and many other imperfections out. 4. Sealed in giant ugly putty splotches all over the stairs and had to re-sand and start stain over delaying the job even further. 5. No quality control throughout project. 6. Terrible communication, I never knew when or if someone was showing up. 7. Top wood on railing was never properly sanded even after I pointed out the jagged edges. Too lightly sealed and very rough in some areas, smooth in others. 8. Left a huge trash bag overflowing and piles of material in front of our house for weeks. 9. Daily dust all over furniture and fabric couch, again did bother not cover or seal off area until towards the end I asked them to please cover the couch. After such negligence, I no longer trusted them to "fix" my burned flooring (not flooring they installed) and asked for reimbursement to hire someone else to repair. The manager refused saying that's not how they do business. Tell me this, is all that is listed above how you do business? Maybe you should have made an exception considering how poorly my home was managed and also damaged. Of course I do not trust you or your crew to camouflage your damage no matter how "simple" you say it is. SEE PICS for yourself of things I had to tell them to fix as well as the burn marks that are currently there.

Omar is wonderful to work with and goes the extra mile to ensure his customers are satisfied. He did not nickel and dime us but quoted a great price. His team put in additional labor hours to make everything perfect, and they did not charge extra. Omar converted a tub kit to a walk in shower, remodeled the bathroom, painted the house, moved the staircase and installed a new one with custom balusters and oak treads, stripped down the ceiling trusses and refinished them natural and put an all new flooring. I could not be more thrilled, and I highly recommend Kastle Stair & Finish!!
