I hired NXT Construction to remodel my duplex in Copperas Cove, and the entire experience was extremely disappointing. From the beginning, I was told certain items were included in the project, but later almost everything became a "change order" or an upcharge. They're cheap. They used left over materials for my condo renovation. Even simple requests suddenly became "too expensive," which made the process feel misleading and inconsistent. The quality of the work does not reflect the money I paid. The job was definitely rushed, many important details were left incomplete, and the results did not match what was promised. Concerns I raised--such as mold issues and specific finish requests like quartz countertops--were dismissed or avoided, and nothing was handled with the level of professionalism I expected. To make matters worse, one of my front screen doors went missing during the project and was never addressed. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. I feel the work performed did not justify the cost, their communication was unreliable, and their business practices lacked integrity. I strongly encourage others to choose a different contractor. I needed to get rid of two old televisions and three couches, so I contacted NXT Construction for junk removal from my house. During the sales process, their customer service was very good. Chris from NXT contacted me quickly via phone and gave me a quote of $250 for the job. Chris's quote of $250 was about $100 less than everyone else, I told him he had the job. We scheduled the pickup. When Chris arrived, I wasn't there to greet him. My wife met him, and Chris quoted a different price of $375. My wife was confused, since that is not the price I had told her. First, Chris tried to tell her that he had always quoted $375 and never said $250. That was not correct. He started negotiating to try to find a new price. My wife called me, and then I spoke to Chris directly. Once I spoke to him, Chris agreed that he had actually quoted $250, but that was because he didn't know the items included couches. Couches, he said, had an extra fee of $40 each. I reminded Chris that I had sent him pictures of the items and that we specifically discussed that three couches were included. After a bunch of other changing excuses, Chris eventually offered to haul the load away for $250. I declined his offer, because I had been misled. Chris didn't honor his word, and I don't do business with people who do that. It's more important for me to warn the community of this untrustworthy behavior. I hope this is a one-time thing and that it is not indicative of the company's overall performance. I'll find another company to do the job. read more

I posted a project on Tuesday and had Courtney schedule next day pickup, Chris came by on Thursday (on time which never happens when I hire someone). I had a large couch on its last leg on the second floor and Chris was able to get it downstairs without damaging my walls (very important to me as we are staging our house). As I posted a project for bulk item pickup, I didn't realize they also did construction work including sidewalk work and am now hiring them again after seeing the professionalism and responsiveness of this company. read more

I recently had a minor but important issue with a weak GFI getting tripped. As this circuit also handled the freezer in my garage, I needed the issue addressed relatively quickly, including adding a dedicated circuit to prevent future problems. NXT was one of the first to respond, call, and stop by to evaluate the situation in person. They determined the best remediation quickly and scheduled a sub-contractor later that day. The electrician was on-time, professional, and completed the work as requested. The price wasn't the cheapest, but everything looks great and works as expected.
