We had GSI Flooring fit our house with wooden flooring and carpet less than a year ago.
We were so happy with the job when it was complete but this all changed less than 2 months later.
We started noticing issue with the carpet on the stairs. Excessive wear became visible mere weeks after it was fitted.
There are only 2 in the house and we both work full time so the carpet is not being walked on excessively.
We do not wear shoes on the carpet and hoover it regularly.
This damage is completely unjustified, especially only weeks after it was fitted.
I contacted Gary from GSI flooring and explained the issue. I included photos of the damage in my email.
He sent one of the guys out who fitted the carpet, Luca.
Luca inspected the carpet and acknowledged the damage. He said it was common on this kind of carpet.
I kept pointing out that it shouldn't of occurred mere weeks after being fitted - he never once addressed this point.
I also pointed out that if I was advised that this damage was common on this type of carpet, I never would have purchased it.
Luca just shrugged at this. While he was there, he generally spoke over me and insisted that the carpet and the fitting were of good quality.
Before leaving he said that he was willing to refit the carpet but the decision was down to Gary.
I heard nothing for 2 weeks after this. I contacted Gary again, from this point he began fobbing my emails off.
This continued for 1 week before Gary finally claimed that Luca said there was nothing wrong with the carpet, which is untrue.
He went on to claim that Luca said he would replace the carpet on the stairs and that he informed us that he would need to be paid for it. Again, untrue.
Gary then suggested that Luca left the decision up to us and we haven't been in contact since....? Untrue!
I'm not sure who exactly from GSI Flooring is lying, but someone is.
Bottom line is, there is clearly an issue here. We were either sold poor quality carpet or underlay or the materials were not fitted correctly.
None of these factors are our fault.
We put our trust in GSI Flooring only to discover that they are more than happy to leave their customers out of pocket with extremely poor quality flooring.
Would I recommend GSI Flooring? Absolutely not!! read more
