G.E. Elmore Contracting was hired and paid to complete a large concrete patio, exterior steps, and grade my backyard. Instead, the final result was an unsafe, unfinished, and non-code-compliant project that now needs to be completely redone. From the start, I emphasized the importance of meeting building codes and safety standards. I also made clear the need for proper drainage and grading to prevent any future water-related issues around the home once the patio was finished.
Although G.E. Elmore Contracting initially promised to meet with me for a walk-through and correct the issues, months have passed and the meeting never occurred. Jerry (or Gerry) repeatedly canceled scheduled visits and provided excuses such as broken equipment or being "slammed" with other jobs. He also texted, "Yes, everything you mentioned will be taken care of," and stated that he appreciated my patience. Nevertheless, Jerry was a No-Show. He never came to any of the meetings, never corrected the problems, never fixed the damages or completed the project.
The work performed by G.E. Elmore Contracting was of very poor quality. They left behind concrete debris and other hazardous materials in the yard, and the property sustained damages as a result of their work. G.E. Elmore Contracting has had every opportunity to do right, but they have failed. I have since contacted the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General Office in an effort to resolve this matter and to encourage the company to respond appropriately. Moreover, customers need to use these agencies to put complaints on file and sound the alarm. Also, customers need to contact local news outlets and consumer protection reporters to bring public attention to issues like this one and assist homeowners in confronting and avoiding dishonest contractors.
Your home is one of your most valuable investments. Due to G.E. Elmore Contracting's negligence, this project will now cost much more than expected. I have requested a full refund to help cover the cost of redoing the project, so it meets code requirements, ensures safety, and is completed properly. I will upload a few photos to show some of the issues. If possible, I would give zero stars. read more
