My friend recommended this company when my garage door broke. As a real estate agent, she knows a lot of contractors and she had worked with this company for over 20 years. Their team really does great work! I recommend this company and have now used them twice. For the first time, my garage door got stuck halfway and I needed some help. Their team came out within an hour and fixed it within 15 minutes for under $100. The opener force had to be adjusted and I wasn't comfortable doing it on my own. He also took a look at the garage to see if anything else needed attention and greased all relevant parts. The next time I called, the garage opener stopped working altogether and they diagnosed that it was broken, as it would since it was 17 years old. He gave me some price options for either buying my own to install or having him buy and install. I opted for buying one my own and he quoted for installing only, which was a completely great deal. We scheduled the installation for a few days later and he even offered to install it the same day. He uninstalled and disposed the old unit, and installed the new unit in under 2 hours. Do not hire this company. I hired G&L to install a new garage door, side entrance door, and install cedar barn doors where my old door opening was. The crew showed up during weekends only, were not skilled, and left the site a mess every day. Most importantly, the work was delivered as "complete" in an unacceptable manner. The work is sub-standard and I have to pay another contractor to come fix it. I am pursuing legal action against Gabriel from G&L Garage Doors to recoup my costs. These guys may be able to handle simple garage door repairs, but I'd strongly advise against hiring them for a bigger job. Buyer beware. read more

I need to contact G and L inorder to get my insurance to reimburse me. I have had no luck contacting them on their phone (720) 338-7411. my door was replaced in Dec 2022 and my USAA insuranc refused to reimburse me UNLESS they talk directly to G and L. I am at a loss how to contact G and L I only gave 1 star to get some attention from GandL they have been great with both doors they replaced... We were very happy with Gabriel and his team. My only complaint was with the amount of time it took for the doors to be manufactured, but that wasn't anything Gabriel could have controlled, and he did give me a warning that it was taking longer than usual. They did a great job installing, noticed that the manufacturer sent the wrong window inserts and took care of it quickly. Absolute scam of a company. If you want your garage doors fixed go somewhere else. I got my garage coils replaced by them the first time and they were okay. However, they installed my garage door opener and it's been having issues since they put it up. I read reviews on this garage opener and no one has this issue. My sister calls them and they come to "fix" it. Gets charged 149 dollars for pressing a couple of buttons to I guess reset it. Red flag right there. They didn't even do anything to fix it and we get charged. Next day and it's having the same issue. I think they shouldn't have charged for something they didn't install properly when it's their fault anyways. They didn't even fix the problem and they're offering to give half the money back. Like you didn't even provide the services we wanted. Didn't fix anything but simply just scammed my sister. I hope they make it right but as of now, they have failed my expectations. read more

Way, way, WAY OVERPRICED!!!!! We had been having intermittent issues with our garage door opener for a few months. I setup appointments with three different companies to diagnose and then offer estimates for repair/replace. G&L had run a coupon in one of the local mailers offering a new smart/wifi garage door opener installed for $399. From the research I had already done, that seemed like a good deal and was prepared to just let them take care of it if they seemed creditable so that I could just be done with it before leaving town. When the G&L representative arrived, he just said he was here to replace the garage door opener and nothing about a diagnosis. The opener was just over 20 years old, so I was pretty sure it needed it. When I asked for a price, the representative said he didn't know and would need to call his boss. The price his boss advised of was $680. What??? I spoke to him directly and he told me the add was for a 1/2 hp opener with one remote and no keypad. He also informed me the man on site didn't have this particular opener with him and would need to go back and pick it up. He then offered the opener the man did have for a discounted price of $640. He told me the opener was 3/4 hp smart/wifi with two remotes, a keypad and the price would include the unit, full installation, full setup, programming and haul off of the old unit. Knowing that some of the new smart technology garage door openers had around a $400 price point and I was kind of in a pinch, I told him to go ahead with the install. I then immediately got a work phone call and my attention was diverted for about 20 minutes. I went back out and got the model information for the unit they were installing. I looked it up on the Home Depot website and the retail was $238. I immediately called the boss back thinking there was a mistake somewhere, but he confirmed the price and again told me it was a good deal given that that unit normally installs for "North of $800". I felt like, and should have just shut them down and asked them to leave, but I didn't. I honestly try to avoid conflict as much as possible. The finished in 75 minutes. The remotes were programmed, but that was it. They had me enter a temporary PIN, while they were standing there and told me I could change it later. Well, the instructions for changing the PIN on the keypad were incorrect, as were the instructions in the main booklet in the box. I had to do research how complete both the keypad and network/App programming on my own, but didn't have time to do so until a few days later. I will most definitely not give them any repeat business and would certainly not recommend this company to anyone. In closing, I was charged $640 to install a $238 garage door opener and they didn't even complete the setup. read more

The spring on my garage door was broken and needed replaced along with the cables. We had some scheduling issues to begin with, but they worked hard to make it right. The service tech that did the work (Leo), was very efficient, thorough and did a great job. He even cleaned up every little bit and made sure that everything was in working order before leaving. I didn't find much mention of this company online, but they are listed with the Better Business Bureau and deserve their A+ Rating. They have reasonable prices as well. read more

I was able to get a quick quote on a Saturday after 3p that out beat their competitors! I called on Sunday to schedule an appt and to verify the quote, and my call was answered! Super unhappy with this company! When we called to get a quote they informed us that they carried all the parts our Wayne Dalton system used. But upon arriving the technician stated that they would need to order the whole assembly from the dealer. Not a huge problem except that now the price quoted for the service tripled! Once I asked the technician why they claimed to carry the parts but actually didn't he became defensive and started arguing with me. Once I had enough and called the office he still wanted to charge me a service fee of 50.00. I asked why a fee for being mislead. He then dropped the service fee to 30.00. Again I told him No and he had the nerve to ask what I thought was an acceptable amount to pay. By the way this company has acted I believe they come out and if you question anything your bill can see significant changes or are possibly use to strong arming the customers. read more

Although they did come quickly to solve a problem with my door not shutting, after they quoted me a price I told them that I had a coupon for $75 off of any repair. The guy told me that he already deducted it from the bill. How did he know I had the coupon?? I don't believe it a guy that is both a garage repair men and a fortune teller too!! Then he told me that the part in the opener need replace because the springs were weak and broke the plastic piece. He replace the plastic gear inside and was going to leave. I ask him if he was going to replace the springs seeming how he said they were weak. He did replace the spring upon my request, however when the door opens it doesn't open all the way then the last 6 inch opens after it had stopped. I think for the money I paid him he should have tuned it up also. I think I will go with somebody else next time. NOT HAPPY with this company. Leo from G and L Garage Doors responded to my elderly mother's call for service promptly. He was friendly and courteous. The garage door was fixed within about ten or 15 minutes. My problem came when I looked over the receipt. She was never told ahead of time an estimate of the charges. She never asked for a tuneup yet according to the receipt she received one, and that's fine if she wasn't charged for it, but who knows? She was told there were replacement parts however this was not listed on the receipt and nothing appeared to have been replaced. Everything listed on the receipt had no charge attached to it at all so I don't know what she was charged for specific services. Only a total of $249 at the bottom of the receipt. I called the company and requested to speak with Leo so that I could get an itemized receipt. My call was not returned. I called again a week later and was stonewalled by the gentleman on the other end of the phone. He went on and on ad nauseam explaining that there are trip charges and labor charges etc. etc. but he would not respond to my request for an itemized bill so that I would know exactly what those charges were. I again requested that Leo contact me he explained that Leo is very busy working. It has been an additional two weeks and to date my calls have not been returned. All I wanted was an itemized receipt that would take about five minutes to provide so that I could see what my elderly mother was charged for. What were the individual charges? What was the subtotal? What was the tax? How much of a discount if any did she get from the advertisement flyer she received in the mail? I don't have a problem with her paying for services rendered, trip charges, sales tax, etc.... But how could I possibly know if she's being charged fairly and accurately without an itemized bill? It's been three weeks and still no response. This all seems very shady and makes me suspect that she actually was overcharged.
