Had my truck worked on back in Feb of this year.  The repair tool way longer than it should have (more than a month in the shop) and the passenger door was not repaired the way I asked (it was just touched up) that was not part of the initial repair and they said they would fix it. I noticed a week after picking up my truck that the cap had multiple damaged spots on it, like it had been dropped.  Further, near the door handle, were some sharp shards of fiberglass that cut me when I went to open it.  Mind you, this truck spends most of its time in the garage and used rarely.  Picked up and parked it.... Big mistake. I happened to be behind my truck at night and noticed my license plate lights weren't working.  After getting under the truck, saw a red wire (NOT EVEN WATER TIGHT) and certainly not the factory harness that should be there.  It's half assed at best.  Not my work and the truck has not been anywhere else... the wire is just exposed, not secured and clearly not working. This truck is meticulously maintained and has never been hacked up. After emailing Jeff G letting him know of all this and how dissatisfied I was, he has and will not respond. Terrible company and service. First and last time I will use them.

My only mis step was I bought all the pieces they'd need and then found out they only work on cars with parts they provide. So, make sure yall don't spend the extra money on parts they can't use. Otherwise the mechanics went above and beyond to help make my experience a smooth as possible. They had my car for about an hour and I got it back with a new strut, an oil change, an inspection and they took the time to fix my hood lever. I purchased my new Volvo S60 on December 6, 2025, as of January 19, 2026, I have not received my registration and license plates that were to be handled by the dealership as part of their documentation services. I am now making payments on a new vehicle that I cannot legally drive. I have called, emailed, and texted multiple people at the dealership numerous times and have received no resolution, clear timeline, or meaningful follow-up. At this point, the lack of communication and ownership has completely overshadowed what was initially a good buying experience. While Dan Carlen and Ben Carter were professionals to work with during the purchase itself, the breakdown in post-sale process and the Lovering Auto Groups accountability is disappointing and beyond acceptable. Pleasant sales interactions mean very little when basic, legally required paperwork is not delivered and customers are left without answers. If this matter is not resolved immediately, my next step will be to escalate the issue through the BBB.

The problems ensued when nobody contacted her about the pickup time and they showed up nearly three hours late, after telling us they'd be there around 9 am. After child care arrangements were made and a half day of work was missed, the car was purchased, with a cashier's check, no financing necessary. Upon our mechanic inspecting the vehicle, it was clear that it had been in an accident due to the right fender being painted and replaced, as well as the hood being repainted. Also, both sway bar links were deemed unable to pass inspection, the brake rotors were rusty and noisy, and the right front door was coding and not working properly. Now all of this is fixable, however, when we spoke to the salesman he went out of his way to avoid responsibility, did nothing to attempt to remedy the situation other than saying they'd take the car back and refund us. Did they offer to work with us on another car? No. The salesman even went so far as to complain about being a 74 year old man who was "low on the totem pole" and referred me to the sales manager. The sales manager Jon(sp?) refused to initially acknowledge that our mechanics' concerns were valid, and when I pointed out that the salesman had boasted that the car had been serviced by Volvo for the last few years, he didn't want to acknowledge that the accident should have been reported to us. He also refused to have anything fixed, saying his service department passed the vehicle for NH inspection. Ironically, he then stated that due to the issues we brought up through our mechanic, he would probably be wholesaling the vehicle. An incredibly confusing scenario: refusing to fix or agree with another mechanic, but trusting him enough to wholesale the vehicle upon return? We then contacted Carrie, who also did not offer to help and simply responded "yeah" several times when hearing our concerns. Obviously this car wasn't a priority to them, or our purchase wasn't. I'm not sure which, but it was every single stereotype about a used car-buying experience wrapped up into a few lousy days. Long story semi-short, Lovering never offered to help us find another vehicle, not once. We cut a 22k check and for them, simply giving us our money back and saying "oh well" after a 5 hour round trip was their definition of customer service. Extraordinarily disappointing, considering their reputation. Perhaps we're the exception, but I know I'll never purchase a vehicle from them nor recommend anyone else do so. Avoid Lovering, find another dealership that works to find solutions, not throw their hands up in defeat.

Garry's is THE BEST! They are reasonable and honest, something rarely found among mechanics I've…read moreencountered. They communicate clearly and well, via phone ( and text, if you arrange it), and they do great work. Their Volvo technician has helped me keep three Volvo station wagons running until their absolute last possible days. My first was over 20 years old, my second about 15, and my current one is 16 and still going strong (They use its twin as one of their Courtesy vehicles, so I always felt comfortable there from the start). My husband now brings his aging Honda Insight hybrid, which sits so low that its muffler system is a recurring issue, there, as well, for diagnosing of pesky CHECK ENGINE lights. We both use them for oil changes and state inspections. They troubleshoot for me before long trips in an older car, and always rank suggested repairs by priority. Garry's location on South Main is convenient, easy to access, and has plenty of parking, plus convenient key-drop box. If I could assign them more than FIVE STARS, I would!
