The overall quality of food has decrease , to the point the large is presently their medium, but the price is the same.

This restaurant is more than meets the eye, the food is delicious, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is enjoyable.

I grew up around Vandergrift and had never been to G&G. While I heard friends and maybe their parents talk about this place, I did not dine here until after I moved to the city. It was nice to come home and have breakfast with my mom just down the road from my high school alma mater. Most tables were full but we found a table in the back (you seat yourself). The space was very clean and well thought out. Menus were already at the table. On the wall behind us was a button to call the waitress/waiter. The coffee and breakfast were absolutely delicious! I got the french toast with scrambled eggs and bacon. That bacon! Definitely pan-fried! My mom got egg whites with sausage. The service was great. Even after we paid, we stayed and talked at the table for awhile and our waitress continued to check in on us. Can't wait to return here for another meal! read more

Stopped yesterday for lunch. Our first time at this restaurant. We sat at the counter because all the booths and tables were occupied. Cindi waited on us . We ordered a BLT and a Nashville Chicken sandwich ( special that day). When the food arrived we took notice of the large portions. The BLT had thick cut bacon and fixings. My Nashville Chicken was immense and spicy with fries. The chicken was real meat, not processed. Fries were fresh and hand cut. Service was spot on, even while the place was bustling. We do not live in the area, but will try to make a special trip to visit G&G again. read more

It's a good local diner type restaurant. Food is exactly what's expected. I had a great BLT, nice thick bacon. My only issue with this restaurant is that you only get 1 refill with sodas. That's fine for me, because I don't drink that much, but they fill your glass completely with ice, so you're not getting much. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh I'm a former Marine after living around the world I still have family there. I am presently living in Phoenix Arizona I have family that lives in Apollo. We went to the G&G for breakfast. It was really nice. It was a great experience, the people, and the food was awesome. I seen the article about the cop harassing the black guy that was there for breakfast. After discussing this with my sister who still lives back home I learned that everybody in the restaurant was screaming at the cop who appeared to be drunk. We're filming a TV show in Apollo and my Boss bought me lunch. We got take out and it was still hot when he dropped it off. The Ruben with chips was pretty big and tasted really good I liked the fact it came with chips. I also ordered breaded mushrooms they were good maybe a little to much breading. The best part is that they are huge! I take the other half home for lunch. They have a glass case filled with homemade pies that are so beautifully presented it's hard to resist! This place is always busy which usually means it's great. I have been coming here since I was little and it always gives me a good 'homey' feeling. It is inexpensive and there is a lot on the menu to choose from. Service is great - sometimes they get really busy but they still check on you frequently. Feel like waiting an hour for a waffle then man this is the place for you! Servers are too busy getting lottery tickets for the local yokles to pay attention to other customers. Want to sell lottery tickets that's great. Employee someone to sit at the front and sell them instead of having your servers cater to these lowlives who take up space drinking coffee and water and scratching tickets all day.
