We recently hired Polo and his team for a landscaping project in our backyard, and we're very happy with the results! To start with the positives: Polo's pricing was competitive compared to other quotes we received for the same scope of work. He was clear about costs, confirmed material choices with us before purchasing, and even brought in extra sod and mulch at the end to give our yard a final uplift -- which we really appreciated. The quality of materials used, including items not specifically listed in the contract, was excellent. We were especially impressed with the pergola paver installation -- the pavers are perfectly sloped for drainage, and the finished look exceeded our expectations. His crew also did a great job cleaning up after the work and often went above and beyond. A couple of examples that stood out: when a heavy item was delivered to our driveway, Polo offered to help move it to its final spot, freeing up space; and his workers thoughtfully installed leftover metal edging in an area that benefitted from the addition. These thoughtful touches really made a difference. The team was respectful, hardworking, and committed to getting the job done right. While communication with the crew required some effort due to a language barrier, we were able to work through it. Polo himself was not usually on-site, but he gave instructions to his team and was responsive when needed. The workers were super receptive to feedback as well and they were willing to get things right. My favorite crew member from Polo's team was Jonathan! He would help with translations. He would oversee his work and the others on the site. We could trust Jonathan with everything. There were a few challenges as well: While the initial timeline Polo gave us was 2 weeks, the project ultimately took about 5 weeks. Some of this delay was due to material delivery issues, partly because materials were ordered late only after the initial 50% payment was made when work started. We also felt that the sequencing of work could have been better -- for example, doing electrical or irrigation work before laying pavers or edging would have helped avoid some rework. Overall, we enjoyed working with Polo and appreciated his responsiveness and quality of the work. We'd definitely consider hiring him again for future projects! Look no further than G&E if you are looking for any hardscape work to be done. I had over 15 contractors come out to give me an estimate and not only was Polo's estimate super competitive, but his suggestions were also more thought out than some of the other proposals. The work I saw in his portfolio along with his responsiveness and willingness to provide materials for us to look at sealed the deal. His crew worked extremely hard, was respectful of my neighbor's property, and kept me in the loop regarding their progress and findings. Early on when they started digging, they discovered some oddities regarding my gutter drainage. Not only did they call it out, they put in the work to correctly address it. Throughout the life of the project, at every decision point, I repeatedly saw them making the right decision even if it meant more work and time. Their commitment to doing things right the first time around is apparent. On their final day, they took the time to clean up the whole area adjacent to the project site and left the front yard, sidewalk, and street tidier than when they first arrived. I was walking my dog in my neighborhood when I saw Audias' crew completing a fantastic drive-way project for my neighbor. On a whim, I asked for his card and gave him a call. Audias was quick to respond and scheduled a visit to talk about my needs. I showed him a few ideas that I had in mind and he gave me a rough ballpark estimate of what it would take/cost. After a verbal confirmation that I wanted to go ahead, Audias promptly sent me an estimate which was very reasonable. He is transparent and honest about the material/labor costs. For ex., he informed me that timber prices were sky-high at the moment and my idea to build a stone patio would be similar in expense. During the construction, Audias' crew were prompt and arrived bright and early in the morning. They worked several 7am - 6pm shifts! Audias is expanding his business and has invested in heavy machinery that allows him to complete jobs faster and more efficiently. I am extremely satisfied by the natural flagstone patio that he has built for us. In the course of the project, I asked Audias for some minor "extras". Audias is very reasonable and did not charge me for these. If I asked for something beyond our contract he was happy to accommodate me with reasonable added expense to the estimate. I contacted a few hardscape companies with a preliminary concept in my head, and Audias was the last one that I contacted. He showed up shortly after I reached out, and made a visit to look at my space and listen to what my ideas were. From our conversation, and his suggestions I felt confident he understood what my vision was for the space. I decided to go with his company at that point. The next day he made another visit with samples of both rocks and pavers. We talked more and within a day and half the project was completed. He touched base through out the project at certain points to make sure I wanted to make certain decisions and the end result was 90 percent what I envisioned and 10 percent Audias's touch, which I was more than happy with. The clean up was smooth and the crew took care of everything and they even did a quick leaf blowing of the driveway before they left. I'm so glad we trusted Audias (goes by Polo). Our backyard has been a mess for two years. We wanted to spruce it up to be usable and an extension of the home, and also for our dog who kept hurting himself in all the rubble. Pollo was very professional and was a joy to work with. They're a very hard working crew and were done in two weeks. We got our driveway done from G&E landscape contractor in summer of 2021. It is spring 2023 and the pavers are already coming apart. We called multiple times but they don't respond and don't come fix it. It has become a trip hazard and now we have to hire someone else to fix it. They haven't dug enough, put gravel enough, haven't put fabric at all places. They were cheaper than other contractors but I will never get anything done from them again. They take multiple houses at the same time, won't finish on time and on top now we discover the quality is also sub-par. read more

We had a great experience working with G&E Landscaping! Audias was able to meet us for a site visit within two days of reaching out and had a quote shortly after. The price was competitive and his team was available to start work within a month. They were hard workers with exceptional attention to detail! The full scope of our project was to demo an old shed, remove and build 200' of new fence with three gates, put in a patio, and level and lay new sod. Audias was able to complete the project in 4 weeks, though there was a week delay for our electrical contractor and inspection. This was a big hurdle in the project/timeline, and Audias handled it very professionally. He figured out what his team could finish while the patio was on hold and continued to stay in touch with me and got right back to work once we passed. I don't recommend G&E. The only good thing I can say is that the price was good. They were significantly cheaper than anyone else. However, when I factor in the time and effort I have spent correcting their work, I probably should have just gone with another contractor who was significantly more but most likely would have done a much better job. Much of my dissatisfaction is related to the pattern I chose, which is a herringbone pattern. This style requires making long, straight cuts. I would have though they would use some kind of straight edge to ensure the cuts would be straight, but the workers did it freehand. As a result, there were multiple places where the cuts were so uneven that they looked terrible. My design had a number of curves. Rather than use angle cuts on pavers, they just laid uncut pavers around the curves and used polymeric sand to fill in the huge gaps. This is probably the most egregious aspect of his work. Those cuts are labor intensive, so he pocketed quite a bit of money by not having to pay his crew to make all those cuts. Also, they laid the base in such a way that the pavers now overlap some of the trim on my deck. This will cause problems with rotting wood in the future. They did this to achieve the right pitch for drainage, but a good contractor would have pointed this out to me. Perhaps I could have worked with him on a solution. I also had the crew build a landing to the front steps, and it was so crooked and awful looking that I tore it out and built a new one myself. When I raised this issue, the owner of the company totally flipped out at me and threatened to leave the job. Because the price was so good, and I wanted to get the job done before the winter rains came, I just shut my mouth. As the project unfolded, I just wanted him and his crew gone, knowing that I was probably better off just fixing some of the issues myself rather than having to deal with him. Also, he took my shovel that was out in my yard. I saw his guys load it up, but he claims he couldn't find it. I'm not sure, but I think some of the photos of "his work" were actually pulled from Google images. Especially a photo of the pattern that's similar to what I had installed - there is no way they did that work themselves! Luckily, I'm pretty handy and I have been able to fix most of the issues, but it has taken awhile. This guy is a joke and you're better off going with another contractor. read more
