This is not about the quality of their work as I wouldn't know. This is about a very strange and frustrating experience, and ultimately a complete waste of my time. I found them on Google, where they advertise themselves as being "open 24 hours". I figured that had to be a mistake, but I needed to get three racquets restrung, and their reviews were so good that I decided to give them a shot, so sent them a message through Yelp. After about 10 minutes of researching, the only address I could find associated with this business was on E. McKinley Ave. in Sunnyvale. Since I need the racquets restrung by Thursday, I decided to drive over there. When I arrived, I realized it was a residential neighborhood, not a tennis shop or commercial business. I called the number, and it went straight to voicemail, with a message telling me to leave a message to make an appointment. Seriously? If this is essentially someone operating a restringing business out of their garage, that's completely fine - but please SAY THAT upfront. Don't make it look like you have an actual 24-hour business location when you don't. I wasted a ridiculous amount of time trying to track this place down today. The highly rated reviews were what convinced me to try them, but based on this experience, I won't be wasting any more time with them. Too much of a hassle when I can just walk into Sports Warehouse and get it done without any issues. So yeah, not for me! read more

Myuran provided awesome tennis stringing service! I can pick up in a day with very reasonable price on both string and labor. The racket is very carefully strung following the official racket spec with a very professional machine. Really enjoyed the service and 100% recommend! read more

G&C Racket Stringing Service - Tennis racket stringing machine - Tennis Near Me

I've been teaching tennis over 30+ years, and like a good & honest car mechanic which is nearly impossible to find, a dependable & CAPABLE stringer is no different. Passionate tennis players are quite fussy about their string jobs, this is why the G.O.A T - Roger Federer brings along his private stringer Ron Yu (feel free to Google, no BS!) to Grand slam events, this shows how important a good string job is, and not all string jobs are equal. At Grand Slam events, they got their own official tournament stringers to service all players, but why bring & having to pay, Roger is a smart dude! https://www.cbsnews.com/news/roger-federer-us-open-meet-the-man-who-strings-roger-federers-tennis-rackets-ron-yu-2019-09-07/ While playing, I ran into GC-Stringing Service folks, a few minutes of chat, I already knew the dude knows his stuff. Finally, my NXT string which was strung by an amateur (probably cheap labors teenagers) by my local tennis center, in a month, two strings broke at the top of my racquets near the grommets. A typical breakage happens near the center of the racquets as the topspin strokes, whether forehand or backhand, as the brushing actions bring two adjacent strings together. If not spread them out from time to time, this stresses out the entire string bed putting extra pressure on others parts, just like if your hurt an ankle, you'd compensate by loading on other foot; and over time, this creates aches & pains on the other one as well. GC string uses the latest string machines on the market, they employ the world's most technically advanced, tension precise, expensive ($17k!!!!), and rarest (less than 100 in the world) stringing machines - the Yonex Precision 9.0 - as a momento. The Yonex Precision 9.0 is the only machine permitted for use at the Australian Open and almost no Tennis Pro Shops worldwide have this machine! The results are simply amazing, band at the pickup, he will take the time to explain what he'd done & other recommendations to enhance your racquet's playability. He's very thorough, and keeps dialogues ongoing, so you ALWAYS know when to drop off, pick up, and what & where to pay! In summary, from a seasoned tennis coach, I highly recommend GC-STRINGING Service to any passionate tennis players everwhere. Do not go to Sports Basement, etc, go to a TRUE pro! You bought your Ferrari, now have GC-STRINGING put on a good set of strings (tires) for your racquet, that will definitely enhance your chance of enjoying tennis, and even winning! read more

Excellent stringing, very quick turnaround, great pricing! Will definitely use for all my racket stringing needs

Myuran did such a great job for my new racket at a very reasonable price within very quick time frame. He is so great with all the communication and even keeps me updated with a flaw on my string. The racket was stringed with perfection with the exact tension I wanted. Can easily say the is this the best string service you can get in South Bay. Highly recommend! read more

If you're in the area and need your tennis or badminton racket professionally restrung at a great price with quick turnaround, look no further. Myuran and his team are amazing! Not only are they friendly and knowledgeable, but Myuran also brings a wealth of experience as a former college player and someone who has strung rackets for professional players. He truly understands what's expected from both the player's perspective and the stringer's side when it comes to quality restringing services. The process couldn't be easier. You drop off your racket at the park and pick it up the next day. Everything is handled through text--they verify your desired string tension, keep you updated, and let you know when your racket is ready. Myuran also took the time to explain how many local shops don't use proper stringing techniques specific to each racket, which gave me even more confidence in their work. Even though I don't know how to string a racket myself, I can definitely tell when a stringing job is top-notch--and they delivered! Thanks again for the excellent quality and outstanding customer service. Highly recommend! read more

Fast, fairly-priced, and most of all, professional. These guys helped recommend a string, picked my racket up, sent me detailed photos and descriptions of how my last stringer had done a poor job, then had my racket back to me with a glorious set of new strings in 1.5 hours. Can't recommend them enough if you can drive out to the Sunnyvale area. Only downside is that they don't have a brick and mortar location yet, but they're very communicative with scheduling if you call/text at the number they provide. read more

Myuran did an amazing job stringing my tennis racket! Impeccable attention to detail and unbelievably fast service - I got it back the very next morning! Amazing experience with G&C racket stringing service! Very responsive communication, fast turnaround time (picked up 1 day later) and you can't beat the price. I was impressed with how knowledgeable the stringer was. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to restring their racket in the South Bay Area. read more

Very friendly and professional service with good price!! Myuran is super knowledgeable in tennis strings, he pointed out my previous stringer hasn't done things correctly. They did not follow the official manufacturer's specification for knot tieoff locations. Incorrect knot locations lead to unexpected loads compared to the design intent of the frame. Long-term this can lead to warping or even cracking. I am glad he corrected it, very happy with the final outcome. If you're in the Sunnyvale/Santa Clara area, the drop off and pickup will be easy and fast. Highly recommended. read more

Great stringing prices for the bay and very organized, friendly, and knowledgeable service. They don't have a storefront yet so there is some coordination of pick-up and drop-off needed but they are super accommodating. read more

Great experience so far after two racquets. Prompt communication, very fast turns (next day), and a nice price too! It's clear Myuran is knowledgeable and really takes pride in stringing. Even though I've been playing tennis for 20+ years, I still from him learned something new about stringing (specifically in this case where the knot should be tied for my racquet). I trust this company to do a high quality job. Thanks for the service! read more

The best tennis stringing service in the Bay! Myuran, who is a certified Master Racquet Technician, does an incredible job. It's actually not only technique, his customer service and communication is top notch. He proactively annotated in his messages to me where previous stringers had not followed manufacturer instructions and of course fixed it when he re-strung my racquets. He is also super fast, with less than 24 hour turnaround for his standard service which frankly is unheard of. You can also get 1hr service for an extra fee. His prices for both strings and labor are very reasonable ($15 for labor per racquet), without any sacrifice at all in quality. If you live near Sunnyvale at all, there is honestly no reason to string your racquets anywhere else. read more

Got referred to this place by one of my tennis hitting partners. Myuran was super responsive and detail-oriented. He did a great job stringing my racket, carefully following the manufacturer's specs, and returning the remaining strings to me nicely wrapped to avoid moisture damage (used half from two packs of different strings for a hybrid setup), and within a short turn-around time. I would definitely come back here in the future. read more

If you're looking for a place to restring your racquets, look no further. I've been playing tennis competitively for the past 15 years and this is by far one of the most delightful stringing experiences I've ever had. Myuran is extremely knowledgeable about his craft, pointing out sloppy errors my previous stringer made and providing top-notch advice on racquet care. But what I appreciate even more is that he treated my racquets as if they were his own, handling them with the utmost care and respect. Oh, and if that wasn't enough, they provide the best rates in the Bay Area with one day turn around. Seriously, give them a try and you won't be sorry. Muryan is excellent. You can tell he cares about providing a great service. Fast turnaround, great price.

This place is the best for stringing service in the Bay Area. I really enjoyed working with them to string my tennis rackets with my own strings, and I'm definitely making it my go-to spot for any future racket stringing needs. 1. Quality: the quality of their work is great, and after a month of using my racket, it's still performing really well. 2. Turnaround time: dropped off my racket at 6 pm, picked it up the next day at noon, less than 12 hours. 3. Professionalism: haven't come across a service provider so proactive in giving updates and suggestions. They even explained the background research they did on my rackets without me asking, and provided some future maintenance tips. Very friendly, professional, and enthusiastic people to work with. 4. Pricing: I won't delve too much into this but it's the most affordable I've seen. I'm highly recommending this place and looking forward to working with them again. read more

If you read this message, please also search G&G on Google Review--all five stars. Mr. Myruan is the perfect guy for the tennis stringing service. I called around different places. All required three days to complete the job. My boy has a game on Friday, so we don't want to wait. Mr. Myuran replied to us right away and waited for us on a cold rainy day. He was very detailed and professional. One day later, we got our tennis racket back. Looking like new again. You can tell he loves his job. I know for sure he has a passion for tennis. My boy enjoyed talking to him and his method of replacement. I wish there were more people like him out there. The whole process and experience was wonderful.
