I went here with my sister recently. All of their cds were above market value & the ones that are cheap are ones they buy off of other people it seems. I got a Jonas brothers cd for 2.99 but the stickers they put on the case perfectly covered all the cracks & the fact the whole case itself is broken. When I went to the register I was promted to sign up for their membership I asked if it cost anything & I was told no. That was a fucking lie it cost 11.99 a month & they got my email wrong so I can't even properly cancel I had to call the service & I was told I canceled but I don't believe. I will be pissed if I get a charge for 11.99 next month & I will never be buying cds or anything from here again. You get a better deal from eBay & Amazon read more

Wow I'm SHOCKED at how low the rating is! I ALWAYS love coming in here and ALWAYS find something! Usually I'm not looking for anything specific and just go in hoping to find at least one thing on my list of things to get! I always love the employees because they're knowledgable and very nice! The store is pretty easy to navigate but the movies may occasionally be a bit out of order! (That's all I really look at aside from the TV which is never mixed up because there's not NEARLY as much!) Most of the bad reviews are from over two years ago which even though I hadn't really been there before like last year I think I can confidently say that it's improved if it was ever bad and I think that you can safely believe that! But who knows! Overall I absolutely LOVE coming to this place and really hope a 10/10 from an Elite Yelper will help anyone that may have been turned off from going because of the 3/10 overall rating! Purchased items in the store, clerk asked if I wanted to sign up for a discount card to get money off on my purchase, went for it as who doesn't want money off. Noticed when I got home that's a membership card that will charge $12/month after 30 days, on the card I used in the store! Clerk never once mentioned that it was a monthly fee card, glad I paid attention so I canceled it right away. People need to be up front about this stuff! read more

This is honestly one of the best FYE stores I've been to in a long while. I came here every time I'd come out here to visit Vancouver with my mom when she was consulting for PeaceHealth. I had nothing but positive experiences. Now, since we officially moved out here as of May, this FYE has been the BEST!! I moved here from AZ where we lost all of our good FYEs and we were down to one measly (and crappy) tiny FYE in a not so great mall. Every time I went to that FYE I'd be sweating because it was so warm and the shelves would be a MESS in constant disarray, making it impossible to find anything. Now this FYE is the complete opposite! They have actual air conditioning, the shelves are ALWAYS neatly ordered and everything is where it's supposed to be, the manager(s) are super nice and helpful, and the workers actually know stuff!! I have had really positive experiences with Erica and love seeing her every time I go in as her positive energy is really nice. This is hands down the greatest FYE I've been to in awhile with a great staff that's always willing to help you. They have my patronage for life! read more

Right down the middle. Sometimes I go in and find lots of stuff to buy and the service is super friendly, other times there's nothing worth purchasing and the cashiers are rude. Sometimes it's really fast service and other times checking out takes forever. So it's pretty much hit or miss. But then again, there's no other music and entertainment stores anywhere in the area. We have a couple used music stores, but this is the only place to go for new. The manager is pretty nice. He'll order records for you if they don't have them in stock. But...for vinyl, pretty much everything is overpriced. On average pretty much every record is $5 more than just getting it on Amazon. Not like you even have to search the internet for good deals... The only reason I stop in the back to check out their records is it just helps to keep up to date on what's out and what's released. They have good deals on used music and movies. They have sales quite often, especially for holidays. They often have a "Buy 2, Get 1 for $1" for used stuff, too. So, again, considering there are no other media/entertainment stores in Vancouver, it's pretty much hit or miss here. read more

We had a great customer service experience with the guy at the front desk, helping us out even though he did not have the item we needed. We had just come from another shop at the mall where the clerk didn't know his inventory and barely looked up at us when we asked a question. So was pleasantly surprised at the FYE store to get such a different experience. I saw other reviews with people disgruntled about FYE and just wanted to say not all clerks are the same. I loved FYE back in the day when they had the listening "booths" - scan a CD and give it a quick listen. Most stores closed down. I can see why now. When I arrived I was greeted, but that was the last of that. I was not offered help or even a "if you have any questions, let me know.." That can be fixed easily by management but it doesn't seem it has. I have FYE a 2 star for the variety of selections they have. Now I understand making money as a business and inflating prices a bit.. But a lot of their prices are double what the item is worth. There are also some records marked "exclusive" (which I assume means exclusive to FYE) but I own those records and they are exclusive to the record label. Fine.. No big deal. But I purchased those records from the label for $17.99 and FYE sells it for $34.99?! Get real!! That's a straight up rip off!! Do yourself a favor and check online for something you find in their store and compare prices. After taxes, you'll end up paying 204% of what the item is worth. Sound like a deal? -____- read more

I don't get why people rated it so low, probably because it was from years ago. This store was nice. I went over to the cashier, waited for someone to come up since there weren't many workers, and I didn't calculate the money correctly but the worker was very patient and waited for me to get more money out. Of course it wasn't the best, but it was decent since it's a semi big shop and only one or two workers. Definitely will go again to look at all the variety of kpop albums. read more

I have shopped in this electronic store in the past but will not step foot back into this shop ever again! FYI but their items and try them on at home and then take them back if you don't like them. Never mind, just don't shop there, go to an electronic store that has the customer service in mind and allows you to check out the product before buying. Like Best Buy or even Walmart!!! We had 2 employees be very confrontational as we were looking at something outside of its box. In fact they were completely rude, disrespectful and degrading in the way they approached us and confronted us as we were looking at the item. I have not ever been approached or talked to in such a way in any store I have gone into. This was very upsetting and out of line. They were overly irate and handled our need to see the item poorly! I tried to visit the FYE store at Vancouver Mall for the first time this week. I called ahead to ask about what they had and what their policies were for trading in DVDs. I'm pretty sure I was talking to the manager at that point and everything was fine and the conversationwas very normal. As soon as I got ther.e the employee behind the counter was EXTREMELY rude and treated me like absolute garbage. The dude was a jerk before I could even buy or sell anything. The selection has gone way down while prices are pretty ridiculous. Plus, most of the employees are pretty rude. Especially when doing trade-ins; they act like it's such a pain. Do not shop here. I went here in October 2015 to buy my boyfriend a birthday gift. At the register the cashier asked if I wanted to save 10% off my purchase. I said "not if it costs me anything" and she said "nope it's completely free." Well, fast forward to January 2016, I found a random $11.99 charge on my debit card for FYE. Come to find out they charged me in November too, for a "back stage pass" whatever that is. I never gave permission for my debit card to be kept on file and then charged. What's more is they didn't even email me that they were charging me. I had NO IDEA. This is absolutely fraudulent. read more

I'm uncomfortable in this store since the first time I went. I bought two Wonder Woman shirts after the movie came out, and the cashier shocked me by doing nothing but shredding the movie and how bad she thought it was because "It's too one sided. We don't get Ares's side of the story." First, it's Diana's origin story, not Ares's, and so the movie shouldn't be following him (and we actually did get a lot of info on his history and motives!). Second, as a customer, it's very uncomfortable to have your purchase fandom picked apart to your face. If one of those shirts wasn't for my daughter, who picked it out before heading to Hot Topic with her dad and her uncle, I would have walked out. When she was done trashing a movie I loved enough to be buying swag for, she pushed upsetting VERY hard. She tried pushing me to pre-order the movie she just trashed enough to make me feel temporarily embarrassed, even after I told her that we are digital-only and no longer even own a DVD or BluRay player, and then overly-pushed the FYE card until I finally snapped at her and told her to knock it off, I'm not buying another d*mned thing, and to just finish ringing me up. The second time I went back, to get a wallet, the man at the register barely acknowledged me. He told me the price, and that was literally all he said. 0 stars if I could which seems to be the general consensus here. I purchased an item at F.Y.E. in Westfield Shopping Center about 2 weeks ago. I went back to return the item and was greeted with attitude from the girl with green hair from the start. I presented the item and the reciept and said I would like to make a return. The girl at the counter, whom was accompanied by another coworker, asked why. I told her I recentley recieved the same item for free from a friend. She examined the unopened box and, in a condescending tone, asked why it was being returned again? I repeated myself. Continuing with the attitude she asked for my card. Before we go any further, most of you credit union card carriers will know that our debit/credit cards no longer have raised numbers for security purposes thereby causing the numbers to fade with excessive use. She gave me back the card as quickly as I handed it to her and said she needs the numbers to make the return. I said you can see the numbers but you have to make an effort to do so. I slanted the card and showed her the numbers. Here's where it gets good. The girl next to her said "I can see them." the girl with the green hair repeats hersalf saying she can't return my item because she needs to see the numbers. I asked her coworker to show her the numbers because she could clearly see them. The coworker said "but she's my boss." incredible. The obviously more competent employee can't show her "20 something" boss card numbers for whatever reason. Girl with the green hair repeats herself once more. By this time I was so fed up with the situation I left the item and walked out. I recieved the same type of attitude when purchasing this item. We as consumers are responsible for businesses that succeed and fail and if the consumer is mistreated then we take our business elsewhere. FYE, if you keep putting rude incompetent people in charge of your store fronts, what do you think the reprecutions will be? My fellow consumers, take your buisness elsewhere. There's plenty of shops like this (including local comic book shops) with far superior/enjoyable customer service. read more
