Hostile service, the manager that works on Saturdays is super rude. He needs further training himself. Find your records somewhere better.

Horrendous customer service and crappy products. Skip and just go elsewhere. Not worth the headache.

This store is a must see (pun intended) for anyone with low or poor vision. My mom suffers from…read morelow vision issues and I've spent my fair share of time searching thru the internet to find her suitable magnifiers. Try to find a decent illuminated magnifier that has more than 3X magnification, it's not that easy. After just one call with Ken, the owner of The Low Vision Store, I knew we had found the right place AND it turns out it's just down the street from where my mom lives, go figure. Ken's website, thelowvisionstore.net, offers a wide range of hand held magnifiers that go from 1X to 14X. They also offer a bunch of other vision solutions for computers, reading machines and even a tiny camera that attaches to the side of your glasses (any glasses) and reads to you whatever you point the camera at. This is not a cheapie store tho, their prices start around $100 for some of their hand held magnifiers and go up from there, but they have some of the cutting edge solutions for low vision problems. At some point you have to ask yourself, how much is your vision worth? At that point, you'll find this store to be rather reasonable. It's not just the selection of products they carry that make this store a five star experience, it's really more about the service. Ken is a very calm, patient person and during our visit, he made us both feel right at home, his home. That's where his store is, it's in his home. If you take a step out the back door, there is a yard full of chickens (for eggs only). Ken doesn't run a regular retail store, but rather takes visitors by appointment. He says this way it's a one on one situation where the potential customer gets all the attention they might need. During our visit, he carefully and slowly explained all the different options to my mom, and let her try out all of his gadgets (he's got quite a few). In the end, my mom found a couple of items that will definitely help her vision. If I had one wish it would be to give all of my mom's vision back, but in the wishless world we live in, The Low Vision Store is the next best thing. Thanks Ken.

YouTube said it's common after a drop that the screws break and that results in the rattling sound. I contacted five other repair shops and no one but Fixoid said they could do the repair. Also, Reddit reviews as of 2026 HIGHLY recommend Fixoid's Vancouver location - no idea why it's rated so low on yelp Called to confirm the price and their hours. Came in around 4:30pm mid week and slapped down $100 ($110 with tax). They called my friends phone to pick up in about 30mins and said they had to remove my protective screen so they put a new one on for free. Super happy. Thanks guys!!

The staff seemed nice, and what I was trying to get resolved didn't seem to be that large of a problem for a computer "expert". He had to use an "adapter", his words... to get this done. I was very pleased and relieved and gladly gave him the $26 and change that he determined to be the damages. I get home and unpack the iMac and turn it on and my keyboard cannot recognize my computer! I call him and tell him my situation, and he responds with I am gonna have to get an adapter of some sort... I was aghast!!! You did this and apparently knew that it was not going to be a "fix" without said adapter and you charged me...?!!!! So I mull it over a wee bit and call them back and get another staff member. I ask if I could use the $26 as a credit to a key board that they had for sale for $89? She responds that her manager is out for the day, "off the clock", and she cannot get this question satisfied until "tomorrow". I get off the phone and travel too Portland and buy a new key board for $99... Should have done this 1st thing yesterday morning... NEVER GOING BACK and I HOPE $26 was worth this review !!!!

Incredible service, good prices, and a shop full of temptation!…read more I recently pulled a pair of Traynor PA speakers out of retirement for a friend's outdoor birthday party. It had been 15 years since I last ran music through them, and this time they sounded unbalanced. I tested them the next day using a pink noise reference track, and confirmed that one of the high-frequency horns was much quieter than the other. I fired up ClaudeAI to find out what options I had for replacement, and it pointed me to a couple places and products online. I'd much rather buy local than from Amazon, so I did a quick search and found JaMac. When I called, they told me they could probably repair the existing horn for much less than it cost to replace it. They asked if it was easy to remove the horn (yes, just 6 screws), and told me how to identify whether it was repairable. I removed the horns, and confirmed it was the type they could repair! I just left the shop, and the repair was 15 minutes and only $16, for a new diaphragm. They tested both horns and confirmed that one was broken. They also tested the speaker crossover to make sure that hadn't led to the damage. The hardest part was leaving without buying a new set of speakers! The shop is full of great deals on really high quality speakers and components, but alas I have no excuse to buy any more speakers.

Speakers professionally reconed at a great value. Used/vintage equipment for sale. And Comfy…read moreCouches!
