Came here for dinner before heading to history for a concert…read more Made reservations on open table and the team was very accommodating. We all had a different pasta dish (group of 4) and it was fresh and delicious- no one had left overs. It's a very well decorated place and the service was fab

The Experience Tulia Osteria is our go‑to for meaningful…read morecelebrations--even if it means a drive across Toronto. Nestled on Queen East, its warm, wood-fired vibe makes every visit special. The Favorites We kicked things off with their saffron‑kissed Arancini--bite‑sized spheres of rice and smoked mozzarella, godsends dipped into bright tomato-marinara and pesto. Next came the Pizzano pizza: a perfectly blistered crust layered with pepperoni, Calabrian chilies, fior di latte, hot honey drizzle, and aged Parmigiano--an addictive balance of sweet‑heat and savory richness. The pillowy Gnocchi arrived next--smothered in butternut squash purée, earthy wild mushrooms, hazelnuts, sage brown‑butter, and a final snow of Parmigiano. And the Fritto Misto was a crunchy delight: lightly breaded shrimp, calamari, scallops, all perked up with zesty lemon‑caper aioli. Setting the Tone We started with cocktails, which hit the right note--elegant, balanced, and a little unexpected. They added a celebratory lift that carried right into the meal. Service was smooth and welcoming, striking that hard-to-nail mix of polish and warmth.

Superb! No notes. The best service and freshest fish. Perfect portion sizes and clean taste. I…read moreloved the spring chirashi which had an assortment of fish and lotus root and other vegetables. We shared the Sakura pudding which I thought was pretty but not to my personal taste. The unagi bowl was super flavorful and not heavy even with the eel sauce. Cozy restaurant that also has some groceries.

We came here recently as a group for lunch, with a reservation. The restaurant was quite packed…read morewhen we arrived, and within two minutes of walking in, we were reminded twice that groups of 5+ are subject to an 18% service charge. Despite this, we were seated at a table for four without enough chairs, and had to ask for an extra one. The food took a long time to arrive, and service throughout the meal was minimal at best. With oversized plates and a table too small for our group, we spent the whole meal squeezed together. No one came to clear plates until we stacked them ourselves just to make room. Food quality was hit or miss: - Uni crab creamy udon: Small portion. The udon itself was fine, but the uni was the least fresh I've ever had -- disappointing ingredient quality. - Shabu shabu soupy udon: The beef was plain and underwhelming. The ingredients didn't compare to what other Japanese restaurants offer for shabu shabu. - Chicken katsu don: Solid -- met expectations for the dish. - Kakuni don: The pork belly was too greasy for my taste; didn't enjoy this one. - Matcha almond tofu pudding: Perfectly balanced sweetness -- a genuinely good dessert. Overall, between the poor service, cramped dining experience, and mediocre food quality, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to friends or return myself.

I adore foie gras so I began our leisurely dinner with that appetizer. It was one of the best I have ever had. Our service was lovely. It was truly a marvelous evening. Thank you!

The Butcher Chef is one of those restaurants you keep in mind for a special occasion -- or, in our…read morecase, for dinner before watching the Leafs lose an important game. It's a small, elegant space that feels both intimate and deliberate, with every detail carefully thought through. What we ordered: foie gras, octopus, Caesar salad, and a range of steaks. The meal begins with amuse-bouche -- little bites that quietly announce the kitchen knows what it's doing. The food: exceptional across the board. The foie gras is rich and perfectly seared, the octopus tender with a bit of char, and the steaks are cooked and seasoned with precision. Every course feels intentional and balanced. You get what you pay for here -- and it isn't cheap. Atmosphere: the room is compact but beautifully designed, with warm lighting, dark wood, and an inviting sense of calm. The crowd is an eclectic mix of people who can clearly afford to enjoy themselves -- couples celebrating, small groups, a few well-dressed professionals, and the occasional Leafs jersey on game nights. It's upscale without feeling exclusive or pretentious. Service: on par with the food -- confident, well-timed, and polished. The team moves with quiet efficiency and professionalism throughout the night. Overall: not the best value in town, but easily one of the best steak experiences in Toronto. Perfect for a special dinner, an anniversary, or softening the sting of a tough loss at Scotiabank Arena.
