I am a customer of Silver Creek and have been for about 18 months now. It's a great place, and I've taken several folks there to buy direct. Mostly, I'll have a contractor pick up for me, or I'll buy some bags cause it's easy (Bulk is way cheaper if you need a lot!) ... They will even tell you that! They are big on doing the RIGHT thing for their customers. They take a long-term attitude to doing good business. So, today is the first time I've scheduled them for a delivery. Let's just say there was an account/paperwork 'SNAFU', and when I did not hear from them by ~12:30 I thought I better call, as they close @ 1:00. Glad I did. They had set up another account, and it had an error in the number and e-mail. Bummer. It was close to closing time.... They could have said "sorry about that, we'll call on Monday". But here's the deal. They didn't. Irma worked to recall a driver and Josh stepped up to manage the process. When I let them know that I had scheduled a crew to come out Sunday early to spread the dirt, they jumped into action. The made things happen fast. This is a testament to how they handle service and support. I was a bit disappointed at first, cause the contractor I am using wanted/needed the extra work. It's the holidays, and $$$ is tight for everyone. But they solved that ASAP. Silver Creek Materials for the Win! Also; many thanks to Senor' Sigala of Sigla's Trucking for a PRO DELIVERY! If you've never looked at everything they do, and what they sell, it's a treat. Well, to me anyway. It's a cool place to go visit if you care about your yard/lawn, landscaping, or if you are a gardener. Especially if you are a gardener! They are the place to go. I can tell you that with certainty. They are the biggest/best in DFW, and they have what I believe is the absolute best soil for gardening. Bella Flora. My most recent experience was a complete disaster. I ordered 10 tons of decorative stone and received what can only be described as a mud-soaked, unusable mess. Nearly every shovel load was caked with thick mud and clumped together--nowhere near acceptable for a premium decorative product. From what I've learned, this material was the dregs scraped off the ground--the very bottom of the pile. Even the delivery driver acknowledged that. Rather than reject it or alert me, the company knowingly delivered it anyway. They later claimed the quarry was at fault, but that doesn't excuse knowingly passing substandard material to a paying customer without warning. I would not have accepted this product at any price, let alone paid a premium. I've had to hand-sort the entire 10 tons to salvage what I could. Even then, some had to be used in hidden areas because it was so caked in dirt. Frankly, I could have bought cheap limestone for $500 less and gotten a cleaner result. Their response? A $55 store credit and finger-pointing at the quarry. That's not customer service--that's dumping trash on a customer and keeping the profit. I genuinely regret saying this about a company I once trusted, but: avoid Clear Fork unless you're okay paying top dollar for bottom-of-the-barrel leftovers.

I called to see why I was charged more than expected, they didn't know but would look into it and call me back. They did not call back. 3 days later I called again. In the end, I paid the higher price. I'm sure I was charged the correct amount, but their customer service skills are definitely lacking.
