I stumbled into this place while visiting the Eden Prairie Center and walking around Scheel's with family. The candy store is tucked away in a corner of the store by Scheel's Cafe on the bottom level of the store.
While my wife grabbed coffee at the cafe, I wandered over to look at the candy display case to see what they were selling. It is at that time that they're homemade caramel apples caught my eyes. Now my family really enjoys Rocky Mountain Candy Company and their caramel apples but unfortunately they have gotten rather expensive over the years. So when I saw these delicious looking apples for only $6.99, I knew that I at least had a try one and give it a shot.
And I'm so glad I did! Fuzziwigs uses Granny Smith apples for the base and the apples are fresh and crisp. The caramel is made in-house and has a good chew and softness to it. They do not skimp on the toppings and varieties, you can get a plain caramel apple, a single candy topping, or you can go with a more deluxe version such as turtle, S'mores, or a nut mix (these about tend to be $2 more).
I'm a big fan of the M&M and Reese's Pieces apples because you get a nice crunch from the candy and the apple and then the softness from the caramel, makes for a delight of the senses!
So now I can gladly say that I know of a great place where I can always pick up an apple when I'm getting a caramel apple craving. Yes! read more
