Saw a post on social media and happened to be at the Mall of America so had to try it out. Oppa Sweets on the 3rd floor MoA has the cutest and affordable cotton candy characters. 3 different sizes and prices, but the mini is what I purchased. Awesome staff, an owner who is a delight. Definitely worth checking out

My first time in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and the Great Mall of America! I saw this place on Instagram and wanted to give it a try, I'm a sucker for cute things and sweets. I got the Pikachu mini cotton candy which was honestly still impressive size-wise! It was $10, and each color of the cotton candy was different flavors. Also the face is edible too! The shop is small and adorable, there are some seats inside as well.

Very nice staff! Fun characters ! Its always fun to spot by and have the kids choose a character to be made out of cotton candy!

This was amazing! We recorded the whole process of them making the character cotton candy. It was huge! The price was decent too for that size. The kids all love their characters.

Cute character cotton candy for the win! We went to the Mall of America Oppa Sweets Cotton Candy found on the 3rd floor. We got a small Hello Kitty for $10. Now while it is pricey it's also fun! My kiddo was very happy! The menu showed flavored cotton candy but we just had regular. Ours was freshly made but it looks like you can purchase premade ones too. There is a little photo/selfie place to take with your cotton candy creation. Staff was friendly and quick.

The CUTEST food place in the mall!! $10 for a huge thing of cotton candy art was definitely worth the $. We got a pig and it was soo adorable. Will definitely be back next time we're in MN! Also - they're on the 3rd floor right by Cantina Loredo restaurant.

Cotton candy burrito

This is the best thing I've ever had. The service was exceptional and fast and the burrito is amazing. Best dessert I have had in my whole life. The owner is very kind and caring.

I may or may not have invisible ink written on my forehead that tells EVERYONE to talk to me and potentially look into my soul. The cotton candy animals here---were no exception LOL. The unicorn with the lashes like mine and the stoic expressionless bear are now my BEST FRIENDS! I had seen a post from Yelp MSP on IG and knew I would be visiting the area--so I made note because of the ridiculous cuteness overload I knew I would need after a long day at work. The store is located on the 3rd floor inside mall of America on the west market side--pretty easy to spot since everything in their is so bright/cute/happy! Upon approaching the store I was immediately greeted and offered a sample---how could I say no? I was able to sample an item not yet offered on the menu--super cool---I sampled the mochi cotton candy---think cotton candy burrito---with ice cream in the middle--but more portable and manageable. All of the cotton candy is freshly spun and they have different flavor ice cream, different animal shapes, fun Korean drinks, and they even do catering. The cotton candy was fresh and the ice creams paired well. They do have a few tables and chairs if you want to dine in as well as a few cute walls to pose in front of---but since pretty much everything is portable--you could totally walk around the mall with it! As I've said before, I have a soft spot in my heart for mom and pop types of places and love seeing families working together! Hope they do well as I love randomness and cute things! Will definitely visit again when I'm in town!

What a fun place! If you find your self at the MOA do yourself a favor and check this place out. It'll take your day at the very overrated MOA and make it the best day ever (sorry as a local I despise the MOA!) but this cotton candy place is amazing! So creative, bright and cheery. I really felt the prices were responsible at $10 for a character cotton candy. They provide you with a bag in case you want to bring it home but trust me you won't even make it to the parking lot! So cute to take pics in the place and share them on SM and make all your friends envious! It is pretty small so if it's busy and you still want to social distance I'd avoid any busy hours. Will be back and will grab a different character. I even heard they have a mermaid (secret menu?!)

Wow just wow. The cotton candy was gigantic, but did I share? Nope not this gal. It was a good time watching them make it and truly was worth the money. The staff was great and friendly and made it even more enjoyable.

Hell yes hell yes hell yes!!! As a person whom truly loves cotton candy and always desires cotton candy when it is not "state fair season." I was super happy to be walking around the mall with my two lovers and we stumbled across Oppsa Sweets Cotton Candy. Like a knight in shining armor, one of my loves orders the Cotton Candy bunny animal before I can even say I want one. (It must be true love...-insert heart-) The bunny is huge. Just giant, and the size of my face. Not only does it take the 3 of us to eat him. But it is so hard to eat something so cute and so happy. The coolest thing is that you can ask them to change the colors/ flavors so instead of getting the blue and red ears I could have gotten a blue face or a red face. But I chose to keep the colors/flavors as is. Honestly, I hope they stay around, because I suspect each visit to the mall, I am getting a cotton candy animal. Bottom line: Yes, please. Cotton Candy for daze.

Cotton Candy Burrito (5/5)

I was lured in by the photo of the ice cream burrito I saw on Yelp when I was searching for dessert places in the Mall of America. When I got there, one lady offered us samples so we could try the cotton candy flavors. The two ladies behind the counter were very sweet. The cotton candy burrito had three flavors/colors of cotton candy (pink, blue, and yellow), rainbow sprinkles, fruity pebbles, and no less than 8-10 scoops of ice cream. We couldn't finish it between two people - this is easily enough for 4-5 people to share. Given the sheer amount you get and its novelty/instagrammable potential, this was a great value at just $10, especially given how a scoop of ice cream or a bubble tea can easily be $5 nowadays. I would give this full marks for visual appeal. As for taste, definitely a sugar rush, not necessarily complex flavors and the vanilla ice cream was pretty average, but really you're getting this for the fun idea anyways.

Cute concept! I love that they create little animals out of the cotton candy. The cotton candy wasn't as sweet as what I would get at the fair so that makes it even better. In fact, I ate two. Small space with a few chairs and two tables so definitely first come first serve. Wait can be a tad long depending on foot traffic.

I could not believe how big the store was. There is so much variety and such a wide selection of both candy and gift items. The candy is incredible. They feature a candy of the month and even offer samples. While we were there, we tried a truffle with raspberry in the center and it was really good. One of my favorite finds was tucked in the back corner...kind of a hidden gem. They have marked down candy that does not quite meet their quality standards. It might look a little different or vary in size, but it still tastes the same. Totally worth checking out. We picked out a variety to bring to bingo including butter toffee, sea sale caramel, peanut butter cups, and a pecan cluster. Everything was delicious. The store itself was very clean, including the bathrooms, and it smelled amazing from the second we walked in. My only callout is that the employees were not especially friendly. We did visit about 45 minutes before closing, so maybe that played a role, but it was not the warm welcome I had expected. So much so that I felt weird taking photos (which is reflected here). All in all, still a really fun stop and absolutely worth the trip.

If i could give this store a -10 I would. I absolutely DO NOT recommend. Horrible product quality,…read moreand complete lack of customer service. I bought one dark chocolate/sea salt/caramel truffle. I left the store with it intending to enjoy my treat. When I tried to bite into it, it was ROCK SOLID. I could not even bite off a piece of it. So I head back to the store & ask the cashier, "Is this supposed to be hard?". He says, "Well it's a truffle. And it came out of the fridge." I say, "It's not cold, it's just hard. I could have broken a tooth on this!". He says, "Oh well." I say, "OH WELL???". He says, "That's what I said." I say, "Well that's not a very good response from a customer service perspective." He says, "I couldn't care less." I say, "Well that's very clear." He ran a credit to my card to refund me. As I'm walking out the teenager that was helping bag things for customers is slamming my former truffle repeatedly against the counter and it's still one solid piece.

I've visited a couple times over the last few weeks and kept hoping there was just some holiday-season burnout fibs here and there but unfortunately this place has just lost it. Guy at the front just stared customers down, didn't talk until someone came up to check out, just plain uninviting. The bulk candy itself seems to be stored improperly, so many containers left open or the lids not on them, so they were all stale and/or flavorless. There's way better places to grab sweet treats in this mall.

Erase the gray and gloom and escape for a bit under the Blue Sun. There is something magical about sparkling colorful bottles of refreshment....in just about every flavor. Feeling nostalgic? They have it. Feeling adventurous (bacon soda anyone?) they have it. Feeling luxurious? You'll find something! Even sugarless for those like myself who are not so sweet ha. Too many flavors to list. Although I walked out with a couple bottles of a "diet" cola from Rhode Island and a grape from Wisconsin. Crafty! When I think "grape" I don't think Wisconsin but what the heck? I also grabbed a bottle of Bubble Up....my grandfathers soda of choice back in the day (and beverage on a Smiley (now defunct) airline on the West Coast...."coffee, tea, coke or Bubble Up?" So fun. On the way out I spotted some Reed's Cinnamon and Lifesavers Butter Rum candy. Back to the register! Candy lovers will rejoice here. And the salt water taffy selection oh gawd. Candy is fresh. Soda is fresh. Staff is super friendly. I'd like to see more fun candies added and maybe a decoder or descriptions of the origins of the various sodas. But this new business (also another location in Spring Lake Park) won my sweet tooth and my heart. Let's get out and support! Get your soda and sweet on! Go!
