It is an older office, but clean ( I think some people my not get that distinction ). Friendly, gentle, the best.

My experience at this dental office was one of the most awful and traumatic experiences I've ever had. Dr. Ziot was rushed throughout my appointment and did not clearly explain what procedures were being performed or what to expect. I left feeling confused and uninformed. The financial side of the visit was even more concerning. Tamar was not transparent about the charges and initially attempted to collect $1,100 without providing a clear explanation of what I was paying for. She also failed to give me a receipt for my payment and refused to provide an itemized breakdown of the treatment and costs when I requested one. When I contacted my insurance company directly to verify my responsibility, I was informed that my out-of-pocket cost was only $750--not the $1,100 I was being asked to pay. After I questioned the discrepancy, the conversation changed significantly. To this day, I still have not received a satisfactory explanation for the difference in the amount requested. I was also frustrated that my post-dated checks were withheld instead of being returned promptly after the billing issue was identified. Overall, I found the office to be disorganized, lacking in transparency, and poor in communication. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this office to others. I encourage anyone considering treatment here to ask for an itemized estimate, verify costs with their insurance beforehand, and insist on receipts for every payment. read more

Expect to not see a receptionist . They a . Appointment was at 2 haven't started till 2:45. It's the dirtiest dental office I've ever seen it's quite disgusting . One doctor keeps walking in and out saying he'll be back but it's been 25 minutes of sitting here . Nobody's in the office . I'm only hear cause garbage Medical contracts with them . Horrible dentist office as a whole . They also tried charging my insurance for 3 seperate deep cleanings . And of course insurance denied it . They just want money . The two negative reviews I see here must come from people who just like to make trouble (or maybe they don't like immigrants). Dr. Ziad is without a doubt the finest dentist I have ever used. I have very problem teeth, and have had lots of work done over the years (before and after moving to California from New York, where I was born). I know a good dentist from a bad dentist. As with one of the other patients, I stayed with Dr. Ziad even after he relocated to Chatsworth (he had been in practice only a half mile from my home, but I followed him because I won't let anyone else touch my mouth). Went here a year or so ago. I saw Dr. Ziad Rhayem, but everyone here seems equally untrained and unprofessional. Probably not even board certified. The assistant had to x-ray every part of my mouth at least 6 times because she was too incompetent to place the aiming thing in my mouth correctly, and the final images still didn't even cover my entire mouth for all the good that hour-and-a-half of constant, repeated exposure to radiation got me. She spent the whole time telling me how hungry she was and chewing some really awful smelling gum. Dr. Z, as they call him there, did my cleaning himself. I guess they don't have a dental hygienist? He had no idea what he was doing. He did a couple pokes around and said there was nothing to clean off of my teeth (I hadn't been to a dentist in a year. There was absolutely stuff to clean off). He kept trying to interest me in various unnecessary surgical procedures and types of adult braces, pointing to ads for products that were plastered all over the walls. At one point, he got the end of the pick stuck between my front teeth and decided after a few tugs to just jerk it out violently. I told my dentist back home about this after and he literally said "What the fu**!?!" If not for the incompetent assistant, the entire checkup/cleaning appointment would have taken all of 7 minutes. I went to see my old dentist a month later while visiting family. His hygienist did a thorough cleaning (without damaging my teeth!) and actually removed all the gunk. They also did new x-rays that showed my entire mouth (in less than 10 minutes) and confirmed that I didn't need any wild procedures done to my face. I wouldn't inflict Dr. Z or his staff on my worst enemy. read more

Dr. Rhayem is a excellent dentist, he is caring, honest and professional. I had a tooth extraction, I have had them done before but this was the first time with Dr. Rhayem. It was done quick but properly, which made for minimal after care. Dr. Ziad is the best dentist I've ever met. The staff is very friendly and will accommodate you if you have an emergency. Dr Ziad is very accessible and will return your calls promptly. If you call with an emergency, you will get answers and treatment right away. The staff follows up with you regularly to make sure that everything is ok. Dr Ziad is the type of Dr that actually cares about his patients. He is nice, honest and loves his patients. I won't go anywhere else. He surpassed my expectations with his exceptional professionalism, superior clinical knowledge and acumen, and wonderful bedside manner. He is blessed with impeccable surgical skills and dexterity. Above all, he explains things very patiently in detail and addresses what needs to be done only, without creating an inflated dental plan and huge dental bill. His attention to detail is unbelievable which is very critical in dental work. He selected a great staff that he personally trained to create the perfect team. Sandra, his assistant, is extremely gentle & caring with a very pleasant demeanor. I had a bad experience with this dentist. I needed a deep cleaning and couldn't get an appointment for two months. I came in for my appointment to find out their hygienist was out sick. The dentist gave my a 5 minute cleaning himself, which obviously wasn't adequate . The office manager then tried to push thousands of dollars of work. I asked for my x-rays, so I could get a second opinion. They charged me $35.00 for a photo copied picture of an x-ray. The other dentist that saw the x-Ray couldn't even see it because it was on paper. He felt they were totally unethical in charging that much for just a piece of paper and wanted me to report them to the Board of Dentistry. read more

I didn't realize a dentist's office could be...bad. But here we are. This review is only two stars because of the nice young lady at the reception desk. She was very helpful and patient. But to even get an appointment: I called every day only to get a voicemail. They called me back a week later saying they were on Easter break. That's fine and all but changing your voicemail is not that difficult! Once you get past the nice receptionist...oh my goodness. I waited for a good twenty minutes for the dentist. Then, while I was still sitting normally (not leaned back) he told me to show my teeth...up...towards him...That really hurt my neck! Then he said "okay, you're probably fine but let's do xrays" and that was it! My entire visit with him! No mirrors or scraper thing or anything! Then the assistant did the most painful xrays I've ever experienced. Normally I just take the pain but I started to physically remove one from my mouth and she said "no no no hold it there." ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Oh, and this gem: she stuck her fingers in my face to lift up my lips...just to comment on how small my teeth were. And then told me how small my teeth were. First of all, you can just tell me to smile or lift my own lips, no need to man handle me. Second, I know my teeth are small. The dentist and the assistant also kept making comments about how I look really young. Yes, I know I do. Thanks for making me conscious of it again. The real kicker was rescheduling my cleaning appointment. I called and was put on hold. Then she said they didn't have any appointments for 6 weeks. Then cut me off and said "no no no. Later than that. Hold on." and played the hold music. No asking me to hold or anything. I just told her to forget it and cancel my appointment. I won't be back to this place. read more

I was with smile care for over 10 years but turnover completely changed the service. I was recommended to this dentist and so far i have nothing but great things to say. Dr. Rhayem is friendly, warm, and best of all, flexible! I cancelled my appointments numerous times, and understanding my busy schedule he decided to book me after hours! I've been to several dentists and I can assure you he is well experienced in the field of dentistry. I recently moved to the area and I needed a new dentist; He was quick in his services and gave me thorough recommendations to maintain my dental hygiene. As a fellow doctor, I can appreciate the hard work of the staff and Dr. Rhayem himself. I would have given this a 4.5 star rating (but I can't) because the front door was hard to find. Where shall i start! Dr. Ziad worked miracles to help my mom out with her dental implants which had to be shipped from the east coast from her previous doctor. As soon as he received it he completed the installation perfectly and without a charge since it was paid for at the previous doctor, who Dr. Ziad doesn't even know! He is such a capable, kind and an extremely skilled doctor who gets things done in a second! I was happy with my cleaning as well and the front desk girl is an angel! STAY AWAY FROM HIS PLACE!! Dr. Ziad Rhayem is the only dentist I know that has bad breath all the time (ummm, could I get one of those face masks too?). His bad breath should have been a big red flag! Tamara in the front desk took a few years to warm up to me. She is abrasive (probably doesn't even know it) and in the wrong business for someone with that type of personality. This dentist is all about up-selling: change good silver fillings for white, do inlays when not necessary, sell me a small bottle of mouthwash for $35 that did absolutely nothing for my tooth sensitivity, mouth guard for $150 that begin to disintegrate after a few months of use, I could go on and on if I had more time. More bad things happened to my teeth UNDER HIS WATCH than with any other dentist. I had no crowns prior to coming here- Dr. Ziad Rhayem did all the ones I have. I am very unhappy with his work. His crown work is pathetic. As soon as he did the crown, I started suffering from very bad breath, it turns out he created a food/bacteria trap in my mouth which results in bad breath. I addressed this issue with him and he said that there is no way he can change the design of the crown. I have spent hundreds of dollars on products for halitosis. Also, a few months later, I noticed that a black line can be seen around the crown which looks absolutely terrible. Is this what he charged me and my insurance company thousands of dollars for? The kicker is that he said that it needed to be changed (at only 2 years old) and to see Tamara about the price. I agreed that he had done a poor job and I addressed it with him, but they still wanted me to pay AGAIN to fix HIS mistake!! I had already paid once, why would I pay again? Also, This was not his only mistake. While doing an inlay on the upper teeth, he accidentally hit my back tooth hard with a tool. I was in a lot of pain for many months, but never thought twice about it. Later, I discovered that he loosened my tooth from that incident. It was mistake after mistake with that dentist and he always makes the patient pay for it, even when it is clearly his fault. He is always trying to make money off of the patient and has no idea how to properly treat the patient. Now I have to pay a different dentist to fix Dr. Rhayem's mistakes. Shame on him!! No conscience whatsoever. read more

When you finally get in it takes forever for dentist to see you. I went to this dentist twice and it was two times too many. First time they took like 10 more x-rays than any other dental office I have been to (thanks for all that radiation). Then I see the dentist for five minutes for him to tell me my teeth suck and they need to put an anti-microbial paste on my teeth to see if I can spare myself a deep cleaning. I tell him I have tooth pain and he claims it is from tooth grinding at night, so he has a mouth guard ordered for me. So they schedule me a second appointment for my cleaning, which I though was going to be the first time I saw him. The cleaning technician was great, very considerate, best part of the office. My husband went to this dentist as well, he took a lot of x-rays again for him. The dentist asks him what he plans on doing about his wisdom teeth, my husbands says, "Nothing until it is painful." So the dentist complained about wasting his time and x-rays on the wisdom teeth. Maybe you should have asked first instead of assumed. I called to cancel my appointment a few days ago, but still received a phone call about my appointment. read more

I've coming to My Dentist for about 10 years, and they have taken great care with me in the pass. But today they truly out did them self. I was suffering from and unbelievable amount of pain since Saturday morning, I stuck it out through the weekend for Father's day but Monday morning my mouth was so swollen and angry I call to see if I could be seen the following day, which at first was not possible, we schedule for Thursday meaning having to waiting three more agony filled days of pain. But I couldn't not put off the fact I wasn't eaten and get worse. I called to see if they could do something for today, and finally they agreed. They saw me on their lunch break!!! I can not begin to say what this meant for me, I came to find out I had an infection. After been seen, x rays, given a script for antibiotics for the infection. I was finally a happy camper to have been seen and to have answer for my pain. I work in a medical office and I can under the struggle of work through my only break and this meant the world to me!!! read more

The customer service is beyond terrible. The front desk girl Tamara is very rude and Nada, the office manager was the same. My insurance company was trying to get information about my elderly father and they were anything but helpful. I hope if you go there you don't have to deal with either one of them. I feel bad for the dentist they work for because if this is my experience with them I would never trust seeing the dentist they work for. It's too bad because I am sure the dentists are good but if you can't get customer service at the front desk why would you go there? If you have elderly parents who need someone to be a voice for them forget about it.
