I find it strange that there are no reviews about this place. That should have been my first hint to keep away. So last year, I had a change in my insurance and was stuck with DHMO -- which meant that there wasn't a great selection of dental offices to choose from who would take my insurance. Regardless, I decided to go here for my annual check up/ cleaning and just crossed my fingers.
So for my exam, they did x-rays and used some sort of device to take pictures of every tooth in my mouth. I thought that was pretty nifty. But after all that, without ANY probing, the dentist concluded that I had FIVE cavities! Let me preface this by saying that I've never had a cavity in my adult life and am pretty devout with flossing and brushing. He said FIVE! I asked him to show me on my x-rays and he said these type of cavities wouldn't show up on xray. But he did show me pictures of my teeth. He pointed out various parts and basically said there were five cavities that needed to be filled. Not once did he take those instruments that we all dread to probe and actually check.
After the exam, I expected to get a cleaning. Nope. Had to make a SEPARATE appointment for that. Thankfully, I was on vacation, so I could do that -- but imagine the average working person -- who has time to make multiple visits like that? Whatever. I just made an appointment for a cleaning, but NOT for filling the cavities. I said I'd hold off that.
Turned out to be the wisest choice ever. When I got my insurance changed back to PPO and went to the dentist of my choice 4 months later, they did a full exam and basically said there were NO CAVITIES. NONE. NADA. A year later... still cavity-free.
To think that I almost had my teeth unnecessarily filled. I do not appreciate being lied to.
