Bite size piece of meaty pork in a light batter, smothered in sweet & tangy sauce with a hint of chili pepper. Shrimp with Vermicelli - raw butterfly shrimp on top of vermicelli steamed in a clay pot table side with soy/garlic based gravy. Very umami and the shrimp were cooked just right. Fried Rice w/Truffle and Beef - honestly this is just like beef fried rice with a very very slight hint of truffle. Tasty but not special. Mango Shaved Ice - their take on shaved ice with a whimsical marsh mellow panda bear and red bean paste in the middle of the shaved ice. A very refreshing dessert and good ending to a savory dinner. The place was really quiet at around 2pm when we got there and the service is quick, extremely polite and attentive. I had a quick look through the mains menu included in the set and hesitated whether to just stick to the buffet. I finally went for the whole experience and ordered some grilled sardines with vegetables - a bit of a summer nostalgic thing. The buffet is excellent: it isn't big but there's enough variety for every taste. There are typical Spanish dishes like tortilla and croquetas, but there are also Italian cold cuts (spicy salami, Parma ham), smoked salmon, mussels, some pasta dishes, potato salad, grilled mushrooms, quinoa salad, sliced almonds...and a salad bar, with a ton of greens and vegetables to choose from. At the end of the buffet bar they had some sauces, olive oil and balsamic vinegar and a few sliced fruit plates. I love a good buffet and after two visit I was ready for the main dish. I must admit the sardines were a bit of a disappointment, they tasted okay. Maybe I had really high expectations (in my memory: fresh sardines being picked in the sea and taken to the grilled right after...!). As opposed to coming for brunch, I decided to try their dinner menu instead. :) This restaurant sure is popular because when I called in the day of (usually this is no problem for casual or even some 1 Michelin Starred restaurants in HK), they were fully booked till 9:15 p.m. Cray cray. I told them I'd call back as I confirm whether this time is okay for my friend or not. Turns out, he was okay with it, I can go to the gym after work and before dinner, so from there is: Okay, we're on! My friend got there first and I had told him I really want to get / try their truffle fries. He ordered the truffle twisties, but what I was really after were the truffle fries - thus we ended up with two large potato dishes. I didn't mind since I like potatoes and knew we could finish them all! Although in retrospect, the twisties were much tastier than the fries - probably explains the price difference in the two. For what they are though, I'd definitely say that they are on the pricier side. The first entree was taken back because even though I told them no onions and garlic, I still received tons of onions in my dish. The onions were everywhere, completely unavoidable, so I had to tell them to take it back. I was honestly okay with not getting another entree as I was getting stuffed from the appetizers and still wanted to try their dessert. They insisted on making a new dish that's off the menu, so I said okay. This dish was pretty interestingly since the pasta was pinkish red - since they didn't tell me what it was, I'm not sure where the red comes from, I'm just hoping that it's vegetarian since I told them I'm vegetarian when I was ordering! This pasta was just okay, not really my style nor taste for my palate but it wasn't terrible so I got it to go and eat it as leftover the next day. We got mille feuille for dessert. My friend and I were really confused as to why this dessert took as long to come out as it did. I think it seriously took them 35 - 40 minutes to ring out this dessert. Not exactly sure why since this is nowhere near the best, or even mediocre, mille feuille. The lemon curd made this mille feuille more unique and different than the traditional vanilla bean or praline mille feuille. As a dessert lover, I wouldn't recommend this dessert nor order it again.

The location once in the hotel isn't straightforward; we needed the lobby hotel staff to guide us to the restaurant. The views from the restaurant is amazing, similar to what you can see from the Peak with how high up the building it is. Some issues we had with service included the fact that some of the staff did not seem to know Cantonese, which was difficult when some of my party members did not speak English well. One other issue was that the food took an incredibly long time to come out. Our reservation was at 12:30, and we had thought 2 hours should be good enough to get through lunch as we had plans by 2:30-3pm, but dessert came out at 2:30 and it made us late. For the actual food, I enjoyed most of the French style flavors, the fresh seafood, the colorful schemes. Appetizers included small bites of unique tasting biscuits and bread. I loved the oyster presentation, it was colorful and just a bit sweet tasting, a lot different from the oysters around the West Coast. The crab was fresh and delicious as well, though like most Michellin restaurants I just wish there was more of it. They are known for the grilled giant prawn, which has the entire body already peeled, but the entire head is intact which is where all the juice is at, to be soaked up with some bread. The puree didn't match completely with the prawn flavor, but the prawn itself was very good. The wagyu was not bad, lightly salted/peppered and comes with a mushroom puree and mushroom on the side which does go well together. I wouldn't say it's the number one best wagyu I've ever had, but it's solid. One or two dishes can be a bit more disappointing than the others. For example the duck breast, as well as the dessert course with truffles, was not very memorable. I'm glad to have had this experience with a nice bright, energetic but classy vibe, but there were things I wish were better including a serving time of over 2 hours. They are known for the prawns, but really can't go wrong with most seafood, there may be 1-2 foods that might not hit the spot, and for the price of it (around $300 USD/person) compared to other 1 star Michellin's, I'm not sure how soon I would think of coming back.

Service was thankfully quick, and we were seated upstairs - thankfully a table was available as they were quite booked for the night despite being a weekday! For starters, we had their chilled jellyfish - my guilty pleasure. While the size looked larger than a normal portion in the States, the bottom was mostly cucumber slices, so don't get your hopes up! Of course, it tasted fresh, crisp, and perfectly seasoned! Their pork trotters and chicken feet pot were dry and sticky but provided the perfect amount of snacking for cartilage, tendons, and pig skin - iykyk! The che che vegetable pot with tong / ong choy? That shrimp paste and bold seasoning had a good mix of salty, sweet, and spicy. Squid Oil Stick - ever had squid inside an oil stick? Nope, never had I, but this was a nice snack, too. Definitely a unique dish you won't find easily in the States! Aside form this, we also had a honey-marinated eel and another salted egg seafood, both of which had the most unique flavors. I don't particularly enjoy eel but quickly downed a few slices in minutes. Salted egg? Also not my favorite, but I'd be lying if I said it lasted more than a minute after hitting my bowl! Service had always been quick, and other tables around also ordered a variety of dishes. Everyone seemed to be having a great time, and the authentic cling-clang of ceramic and chopsticks and background conversations made for a lively environment.

So it was quite an experience. Onto the dishes: 1) fish intestines- I believe it was cooked with eggs and fried cruller. It was served in a casserole dish. It was tasty, to an extend. It was delicious and the fish had a bit of bones in it so it was definitely pieces of fish as opposed to just fillets. 3) fried tofu - I love tofu and this dish was top notch in my opinion. Each of the tofu cubes had a crispy yet thin layer of fried skin. The tofu was soft and silky, with almost the flavor of tofu dessert. Simple dish done right. 4)fried oysters - what's not to love about oysters? 5)fish soup - flavorful and spicy since there was a lot of black pepper seasoning. Lots of clams and such in the soup. 6) soy sauce chicken - this was the first dish we ordered and the last dish we received. You have to order this as soon as you sit down because it is made on the spot. You won't get a pre made chicken that has been hanging in the window all day long. The chicken was very tender and the soy sauce was very flavorful, more sweet than salty since the it was sweetened with brown sugar. Overall, it was a very good meal. The dining room was full even thought we sat down around 9pm for a very late dinner. Lots of cars were double parked outside, so it seems like this restaurant is a popular locate late hangout/dinner spot.

The Hainanese chicken does not come with the chicken soup and needs to add $15. The $15 is definitely worth as there is no MSG and ultra rich flavor of chicken. The portion is large and enough for one person. The shrimp noodle is another must try, soup is strong with shrimp flavor. I would come back to try the wonton chicken noodle and parsley chicken noodle because both are the signature items.

We came here on a Tuesday night celebrating my friend's birthday. It was such an excellent dining experience! First thing I've got to say is the service here is above and beyond. From the head chef @willy_cuisinier, the staffs that took care of us, everyone was so nice and caring. The food was amazing too. We both ordered the ten courses from the omakase menu and the wine pairing. My favorite dishes are the Uni Lobster, Sakana and all the desserts!!! Basically every dish has the components I look for. And all the ingredients taste fresh. Plus the platings are gorgeous too every dish is so unique and creative. ------------------------------------ 1st course - Japanese Tomato 4/5 It's very refreshing starter. It comes with the granita and the jelly on the bottom. All of the flavors worked so well with the tomato. 2nd course - Caviar 4/5 Japanese Yam, marusho rice vinegar, Caviar. It was very nice indeed. And the brunch is a feast; besides the seafood themed buffet featuring cold cuts, smoked salmon, unlimited lobster, prawns, oysters from the south of France, and caviar, they also serve a three-course meal off of an ever-changing menu. An incredible food experience! Definitely come hungry and expect to not need to eat anything else the rest of the day. As you enter the restaurant you're greeted with a glass of champagne, or wine. Alcohol at this brunch is "free-flowing". meaning when you get up to grab more food, your drink will be filled by the time you return. And you can spend hours trying everything in the the dessert and cheese rooms. The best thing about Whisk, is that there's always some surprise for the guests. They've done all kinds of things over the years: I've witnessed them serve a giant chocolate stiletto for dessert. I've watched the head chef prepare the freshest sashimi I've ever had; I watched him prep and cut a tuna caught the day before (see photo). And I also witnessed them take slices of Wagyu beef and blowtorch them over a stone for a unique bringing-you-to-tears flavor(see video). It's unique experiences like this that keep me coming back. I'm excited to see what unique things Whisk chooses to do this coming year. Foodie alert: eating at Whisk is turning people with the mildest of pallets into foodies, one brunch at a time.
