BUT, if you want a licensed Northern Exposure t-shirt or hoodie or bumper sticker, this is your place. Note the "Joel Fleishman" is still painted on the front window glass. And Marilyn's office desk and chair are still here. Also, Joel's office is still here, though it's covered with a bunch of crap, posters, etc. so you have to really look for it. My only complaint, is that they need to focus on more Northern Exposure and Rosyln stuff and not sell anything else. People who go here are going to be going here because they are tourists either into local history (the mine, etc.) or Northern Exposure, so why not just cater to that exclusively.

It may actually be adequately name the nutcracker store as the selection of nutcrackers here is unlike anything I've ever seen. Do you need a nutcracker it looks like the mouse from the ballet? Got it! Do you need a center nutcracker? We've got that too. Do you need R2-D2 his nutcracker form? Not a problem. They've literally got an entire wall of the store dedicated to any and all things that will crack nuts for you. If got plenty of other Christmas related goodies as well including expensive ornaments and other Yuletide pleasantries. To that end, it's an OK place to bring your kids in, but you have to keep an eye on them as just about everything here is very breakable and often outside of a container. This is the best cross-section of Americana I've ever seen. It claims to be 15,000 square feet of antiques and it is every bit of that and more! Here's what they've done right: 1) There's no flea-market junk. Everything displayed qualifies as a keep-sake. 2) Each item is displayed with respect on it's own foot-print of space, not crowded against or stacked on top of another. 3) Prices are clearly marked and designated as "each", or "per set", or the number of pieces. 4) Most items are clean and well lighted--appear showcase ready! 5) Multiple rooms or nooks are theme-related, so if you're interested in tools, or magazines, or German mugs, or fishing gear, or tableware, or vintage signage--there's a section for you! 6) Several salespeople are readily available to help you find what you're interested in. 7) The coffee shop on site, and spacious restrooms can make this store a whole day event. There really is that much to see. If you live on the coast and are "into" antique hunting, the 2-1/2 hour drive from Seattle is worth the trip just to see this store. We visit Leavenworth often, and we always visit Jones Gallery whenever we're in town. The owner, Jim, is often in the store. He shot most of the photos that are for sale. If he's not super busy, he's happy to spend time to give you the background, location, and other details about where and how he got his fabulous photos. He's also happy to sign prints that you buy, too. For example, my young son is a cat lover and he found a 16" print of a bobcat that he just had to buy with his saved allowance. Even though it was a fairly small purchase, the owner spent time to answer questions and gave my son all the details about the shot (southern Alberta, 600mm camera lens, etc). This kind of personal attention and service is rare nowadays. If you love nature photography, then I highly recommend you stop by Jones Gallery while you're in Leavenworth.
