Christmas ornaments from Fuzed in Roslyn.
    Colleen B.

Four of us walked in Fuzed to browse and all four of us found items we couldn't resist. To top it all off we were incredibly impressed by the owner and his passion for his work and how freely he shared that passion with his customers. We went back the next day and bought darling snowmen ornaments for the grandkids. I'm sure we will be back to visit next time we are in town.

I love fun colors and a painting of something that I couldn't otherwise produce, but anymore I'm just not smart enough, or creative enough probably, to appreciate much of what's produced. We had some friends when we lived in the Midwest, whose parents owned an art gallery. It was fun to look around, but all of it was super high-end and the sort of thing that they would probably sell one or two paintings per month and be just fine doing. This art gallery, we found, was one that supports the local food bank and highlights artist from the area...Win-win! This gallery has a pretty small footprint, and is located on the north west corner of Tietan Square, in the town of Tietan. As an aside, this little town has done an amazing job of really fostering the arts in a place where they would otherwise be almost completely absent. The gallery is probably five or 600 ft.², with a large main room and a small offshoot. They display whatever artist has pieces to display, and also sell jewelry, greeting cards and other small art pieces. We were told that the places almost entirely run by volunteers and that the vast majority of the proceeds go to the local food bank. It's a really neat way to make sure that the food bank stays as stocked as possible. The cards here are all made by a gentleman who donates them in the proceeds go, again, to the local food bank. We found some pretty funny cards, as well as a number of them for other occasions. We can never find a birthday card when we need it so we figured we just pick up a few! All in all, this is a really cool little studio that supports the artistic mission of the community, and helps make sure the food bank has a relatively steady source of income. If you have a chance to check out this place, either just being in the area or for an event, It's well worth your time!

The space is filled with framed photos, leather goods, clothing, accessories and lots of wooden signs. We took our time looking at the items as there is so much to see. We visit Leavenworth often, and we always visit Jones Gallery whenever we're in town. The owner, Jim, is often in the store. He shot most of the photos that are for sale. If he's not super busy, he's happy to spend time to give you the background, location, and other details about where and how he got his fabulous photos. He's also happy to sign prints that you buy, too. For example, my young son is a cat lover and he found a 16" print of a bobcat that he just had to buy with his saved allowance. Even though it was a fairly small purchase, the owner spent time to answer questions and gave my son all the details about the shot (southern Alberta, 600mm camera lens, etc). This kind of personal attention and service is rare nowadays. If you love nature photography, then I highly recommend you stop by Jones Gallery while you're in Leavenworth. Take a look at his website images -- the site is linked in the Yelp description -- and you'll see what I mean.

They went above and beyond my expectations, to ensure that the event went smoothly! They are happy to help all customers and always greet you as soon as you walk into the door. Arts Alive is funded through 4Culture, which provides local access to the arts for smaller communities in King County. With that said, volunteers are greatly needed and it's very touching to see the rotation of different volunteers who work a certain amount of shifts, as if they were employees at the gallery. They help display the art, complete transactions, teach classes and discuss artwork and even get the opportunity to showcase their own! The gallery is split in two parts, with the front room being primarily the show room where art can be purchased. The back room, which is also has a back entrance is where art classes are taught, and has a small kitchen for such. I encourage anyone visiting Enumclaw or if already in the area to take a gander at Arts Alive, as you may find a piece of artwork to bring home (all mediums represented here) or even sign up for a class. This is an awesome and much-needed arts gallery in Enumclaw!
