This review is long overdue!…read more Steve and Teri Zimmerman do absolutely beautiful work and are a great husband and wife team. We met Steve & Teri at a Home & Garden show in Wenatchee, WA. At the time we really weren't thinking of getting decorative glass for our home, but looking at Teri's work we decided to invite her over and get her input on our project. After meeting with Teri we had a clear picture in mind of what we wanted. We provided her with some photos, she improvised where necessary, she showed us a few drafts, we agreed on a design and she created a beautiful art piece. Now instead of having a metal or wooden railing near our staircase we have Teri's beautiful artwork. Teri etched the design onto a 1/2" thick tempered glass and her husband installed it. From the first day we met to the final product was less then 2 months. They were easy to work with, and kept to their timeline. All around, I give them 5 stars. :) They are also the artists of the etched glass at the Wenatchee Clinic's waiting area. I truly enjoyed working with them and highly recommend them. Thank you!

We saw all the family members in the introduction video, and then it was so cute to see them greeting us at the gate, giving the welcome speech, and handing out food for us to feed the reindeer. It felt so personal and genuine. They gave very clear guidance on what to do (and what not to do), which made the whole experience feel safe and well organized. You can tell they take amazing care of the property and, most importantly, the reindeer themselves. Getting to feed them, pet them, and take photos up close was such a special experience. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Leavenworth!

Up Close With Reindeer--An Experience You'll Never Forget!…read more The Leavenworth Reindeer Farm is an absolute must-do and easily one of the most memorable experiences in the area. Located just a quick five-minute drive from downtown Leavenworth, this farm will completely blow your mind. You may have seen reindeer at a zoo or farm before, but this is nothing like that--this is a truly interactive, hands-on experience you won't forget. Your visit begins with a short video presentation that introduces the history of the family-owned farm. Every member of the family is involved, and their passion for what they do is genuinely endearing. You'll also learn some fascinating reindeer facts--like how reindeer are vegetarians and, in winter, eat lichen exclusively. Even more impressive is their incredibly strong sense of smell, which allows them to locate lichen buried deep beneath the snow. The farm has two designated interaction areas--one for parents with children and another for adults--to ensure guest safety and prevent anyone from accidentally getting poked by antlers. Each visitor is given a small cup of feed, and the reindeer eagerly approach. Their muzzles are surprisingly soft, and the food disappears almost instantly--followed by hopeful looks for more! While it's tempting to keep feeding them, the family is thoughtful about maintaining the reindeers' health, weight, and overall safety, which is completely understandable. Before you leave, be sure to stop by the gift shop, where you'll find fun souvenirs and great apparel to remember your visit. This experience is popular for good reason, so reservations are highly recommended. If you're visiting Leavenworth, don't skip this--this is the kind of experience that stays with you long after the trip ends.

So I will be completely honest, I wanted to go to the Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum. Yes, me, a…read moregrown adult, with no children in tow, just me and my love for quirky, niche museums. No invisible kids, no excuses. I was so excited to finally check it out. After a long ferry ride from Stehekin and a not-so-long drive from Chelan to Leavenworth, I thought we had made it just in time to sneak in before closing. Sadly, I found out the hard way that the museum stops selling tickets 30 minutes before closing (noted on the website - oops) and we arrived five minutes too late. I was disappointed but it just wasn't meant to be. What was meant to be, however, was the gift shop. And let me tell you - this is not your average souvenir shop! It's more like a mini preview of the museum as there were hundreds of nutcrackers on display for purchase and/or admiration. There were traditional German nutcrackers, themed ones (sports, professions, holidays), and even some that were so cute and whimsical. I spent a little time marveling at the variety and craftsmanship. Soooo yes, I got my nutcracker fix even without a ticket to the full museum! From what I could see (and from their website), this place has over 9,000 nutcrackers from more than 50 countries with artifacts dating all the way back to the Roman Empire. It's the kind of collection rarely found in the United States and the museum's mission to preserve and educate about the history and artistry of nutcrackers is honestly so cool. If I'm ever in Leavenworth again, I would try to time it better to try to actually visit the museum. For now, I'm giving a solid four stars because while I didn't get to explore the full museum, the sheer delight of the gift shop, the ambiance, and the nutcracker overload still made it a great stop. Another unique gem tucked in the heart of this Bavarian town, errr, Leavenworth!
