The items range from candles to jewelry to blankets to hair clips... and it's all great curated pieces. This trip I bought a lovely pair of earrings, an incredible room spray I can't even explain the gorgeous scent of, and a little gift for my friend. Yes, the items are pricey which is simply because they are from local artists, jewelers, creators. But you are supporting LOCAL which I am all about. Say no to big box! :)

If I could give this store a below-zero rating, I would…read more I came in with my three children (ages 2, 5, and 9) to pick out some toys and a pair of earrings for myself. From the moment we walked in, I felt like we were being watched the entire time. As a single mom shopping alone with young children, it was incredibly uncomfortable. For context, my children were behaving appropriately. They were not running around the store or touching merchandise. My 5-year-old simply had a pen in his hand while we were shopping. The final straw was when I asked a sales associate if there was an issue with us. She got down to my 5-year-old's level and pretended to punch him. Why would you pretend a punch my five-year-olds to wind him up when you're obviously watching me because you're judging. She appeared to be in a management position, which made the interaction even more upsetting. We still made it to the checkout line, and she continued watching us. At no point did she apologize or acknowledge how uncomfortable the situation had become. I left the earrings and didn't want to purchase. It's frustrating that a children's store could make a parent feel so unwelcome it was actually my two year old that depends. Shopping with kids isn't always easy, but families deserve kindness and understanding--not judgment. I left feeling embarrassed, disappointed, and certain that I will not be returning.

There was no dedicated cashier inside the toy section, and no clear way to check out. Parking nearby is also a challenge. We went there. They only have one sales woman on Sundays (or that was the case this time anyway (7-19-20), so it took quite a while to check out and was a little awkward standing in that quiet of an environment with strangers for that long. Maybe play a little soft music or something? It will help you feel less nervous too, nice sales woman/owner(?) Now for the good things though- they had actually quality things, not just cheap, dime-a-dozen, cliche things, but actual DECENT things to look at, many were of high quality artmanship. So yes, very impressed with the variety of Mac-A-Bee's. It was refreshing. You also carried cheaper, decently priced things for people just looking for souvenirs which I did appreciate, so thank you. One last thing to note is that Mac-A-Bee's is a roomy store, you won't feel crowded at all when browsing, and that was refreshing too. Tiny stores are awkward.
