a person holding a bottle of apple cid

I would absolutely love to give 5 stars here. Everything was great even on a rainy day with covid being a factor they still knew how to make it comfortable and fun. Coming from NYC I was looking for a quaint little winery for some tastings. Although they cannot pour tasting for you due to the recent conditions, they offer small sample bottles for you to create your own tasting. The man behind the counter was SO knowledgeable & helpful on everything in the store I wish I got his name. Also, I do love to have a selection of cheese & crackers with my tasting which was limited here so if you want a sort of charcuterie set up, you should ask if you can bring your own. Otherwise, overall beautiful place and would definitely return.

Free wine tasting? You don't have to say that twice. We were only able to taste seven out of their usual sixteen offerings as they had sold out of the others, but it was well worth the $5/each price tag (the first sample is free, you can sample the rest for $5). Our host, Carol (I believe her name was) was friendly, funny and accommodating, even as we had our 3 year old periodically interrupting. She shared poignant anecdotes as we sampled our wines on a long varnished wooden bar surrounded by wine barrels*. She was very knowledgable and somehow convinced the hubby to sample all the wines, even though he is not a drinker; and she didn't flinch a bit when three parties came in to partake of the wine tasting as we were finishing up ours. With most bottles under $20, the wines are reasonably priced. We opted for the Riesling, the Old Vine Zinfandel and the French Cidre. They also had pies and preserves available. Maria, the employee who rang up our order, was also very friendly (hmm, maybe it has something to do with her name...?). I would make it a point to stop by again when planning a trip near this area, it was a little too cold this time around to walk through the orchard. I was informed that there are other family activities to be enjoyed at different times of the year. So for now, I will settle for a delivery of their award winning Muscato and Apple Ice Wine, when it becomes available later this month. NOTE: If you're coming from the NY side, it is about a mile from the NY-MA border/sign; our GPS had us looking for it a little after the border which was inaccurate. Also, we walked in around 11/11:30am, while this may be early for wine for some, we were able to have the host's full attention; it got incredibly busy around noon. photo*

Beautiful little winery right in (or at least by) the berkshires. $5 for a tasting of six wines. I liked the blanc de blanc best and bought a bottle ($17.99) to enjoy in the vineyard. There is a nice area of outdoor seating but I opted for the orchards so my two year old could run around. So yes I brought my toddler to her first vineyard, and thanks to the staff here it wasn't a disaster and actually a lovely experience. While my husband and I were tasting wine our two year old was visibly getting antsy (duh) and as I was getting ready to ditch this experience the staff brought out a bucket of toys (including a fire truck that she favorited) to save the day. She played by us in their comfortable seating area while we finished the tasting and choose our favorites. The staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. The homemade donuts were as good (if not better) then the wine. Crispy and indulgent and totally worth the calories. (I saw some people come in just for the donuts.) I visited in the summer and would love to check out the scene here in the fall.

Sara's enthusiasm, knowledge of the wines, and excellent recipe ideas were as delightful as the wines themselves!

What a great place!…read more We stopped off in the afternoon on a Wednesday during a short trip to the Berkshires. First off, LOVE that you can bring the dogs. Is this normal for an orchard? I'm not familiar. They have the cutest little store with apple cider donuts, fudge, little store items including an apple liqueur of some kind that I was lucky enough to try and that shit is DANGEROUS. They also have a wine tasting area and cider/beer tasting area. We got 2 apple cider donuts (obviously) which were incredible. We also tried a cider flight. I asked for "the fruitest shit you have" and we got a nice spread of different and interesting things including a lavender cider. All of the staff were super nice and friendly. The place is also massive if you are into a lot of walking and things.

Absolutely loved this place and wish it was closer to home for me! Excellent little shop with the…read moremost amazing apple cider donuts you will ever taste. One of the owners, Sarah, did a wine tasting for me and was extremely friendly and provided some great background on the various wines. The wines were really good and they had a good variety of sweet and dry options. There's a nice cozy wood burning fireplace with couches to sit and enjoy a glass of wine in the winter months. For those who want to be more active, there is snowshoeing available with snowshoes for rent while you're there. Didn't try that but maybe next year :)

Hubs had located one of the many, many, many trails within the the area In Lenox and noticed the Yokun trail. Be warned though and drive slow to get here- as some roads in the area are insanely narrow right next to dropping woody hillsides. Breathe. From the little bit we experienced, trails around the area offer walking and hiking options to suit all levels. Even though we were suited up for the trek, it was still freezing and difficult to walk on the cracked ice so we cut our walk short. Real short. We ventured a bit more and drove to the main office where Rosie(y?) helped and answered all our questions. We liked it here- but I'm sure it's magnificent in the Spring and Summer mostly where you can see all the lushness and some wildlife. What I also liked about Yokun Trail is that it's well-formed and signposted. You could try to tackle and get to the tallest peaks in the area to see the beautiful landscape- but for that, hubs and I will wait for better temperature to explore more of the wilderness.
