Tried the spirits tasting. Five 1/4 oz. thimbles. Liked the brown spirits a lot. A nice applejack, a smooth rye with a hint of vanilla, and a decent bourbon. I couldn't see spending $49 for a bottle of applejack so plumped for a bottle of the rye. At hone, over ice, it's pairing well with an Ashton VSG. There's some nice outdoor seating, overlooking a small meadow with wildflowers if you care to have a cocktail. read more

Great little place to stop in and check out the craft spirits. Hidden away in what you could consider "small town America" this place is a must stop and try. You wont be disappointed. Great selection that covers everyone's taste and preference from the whiskey or bourbon drinker to the gin and vodka coinsurer. My personal choice(s) are the gin, and vodka; but don't count out the other choices though. Beautiful interior space, with ample enough room for you to feel comfortable and not cramped either. Highly recommend stopping in and taking a tour, meeting the owners and having a bite to eat while there too. Great place to visit! Stop in and have a drink or two! You wont regret it!! read more

Great little spot. Tasting of the spirits was wonderful and the spirits they make are really great. They really need to step up the food game with some bar food or bring in some food trucks cause the meat and cheese board is like a kids snack meal - plastic enclosed included. The place is nice, prices to taste spirits and beer are not bad, the pretzels were good. I can't imagine how much money they could make with some music and a food truck. read more

I have been on a few distillery tours and this was one of the most enjoyable and informative! One of the founders Thomas Yozzo conducted our tour which was wildly entertaining! What do you get when a Newburgh NY cop sets up a distillery? A really hilarious and deeply personal tour. Informative and genuinely enjoyable even for my largely tea totaling mother in law, a winning combination! Highly recommended when entertaining guests in America's Highlands. This was an awesome experience! We had 3 adults and an 18 month old, and it was fun for all of us! The cocktails were amazing! We had the Wahito which was so refreshing! Someone else loved the Jacked up sidecar and we had the Lemintade . And after trying the Basil Smash we took cocktails to go. We also got lunch at the food truck which was very tasty! Outside and sitting in the shade with a delicious cocktail in hand! Five stars!! read more

We did a tasting here as part of our adventure along the Hudson-Berkshire beverage tour. It's a beautiful little distillery, with a few red barn like buildings, a fire pit, and ample indoor and outdoor seating. Upon arrival we were invited to move to the tasting room and try their six liquids. I'll be honest, I am not a fan of liquor and struggled with the tasting, but my groupmates really enjoyed their tastings, and a few made purchases for home. The owners were very friendly and made the experience a positive one. Would suggest to those visiting this area! read more

This is just a review for the bar - we didn't get a chance to go on the tour. The two women working at the bar were so friendly! It didn't feel like being at a bar - more like a friend's house with them making some drinks, chatting with you, and just having an all-around casually awesome time! I don't usually like Applejack, but the drinks were good, the cheese/meat plate was delicious (try the swamp mud!), and my wife and I just had a blast. Definitely stop by if you're in the area! read more

The drive to the distillery was amazing and when we pulled up we saw a beautiful backdrop/barn with a large back space with fire pit. Unfortunately once we entered the tasting room we were hit with a strong smell of vomit. As we approached the bar, I felt as if we were inconveniencing the male bartender. The female bartender was nice but didn't offer much about the product we were tasting i.e. how they approach making their whiskey. When we asked about the applejack the male bartender seemed irritated. Long story short, we won't be back. read more

The drive to this distillery was absolutely amazing. We arrived and were greeted by one of the owners, Jenn. She told us a bit about their story, totally cool, and then we started the tour with Chris, her husband. He was very detailed and answered all our questions. He spent time with us at every stop to make us understand the entire process of making vodka, gin and applejack. We went to two other distilleries during this trip and they did not take any time showing us the actual production process. After the tour we did a tasting of four choices between vodka, gin and applejack. They were all good and we got the big bottle of vodka, recommended. It's Sunday and they had a musician playing the guitar at 2pm. You can have a drink outside or inside at the bar and enjoy yourself in this amazing ambience. We stayed at the bar to enjoy the music and the good conversation with the bartender. Prices are reasonable and everything they serve is from local producers. We visited Hudson Valley Distillers during their grand opening weekend in late June. They had a pig roast as well as a band playing and it was a nice, laid back atmosphere. The distillery is set in an apple farm which was beautiful and added to the overall atmosphere. We had a distillery tour with Tom, one of the owners of the distillery. It was a very informative background on the distilling process as well learning about some of the things that make Hudson Valley Distillers unique as craft distillers. Tom's passion for producing premium craft spirits was evident during his tour. Following the tour we had a tasting of their applejack and vodka. I really enjoyed their hardscrabble applejack which is aged oak barrels. The vodka is also made from apples which gave it great sweet finish. We ended up buying a few bottles of each. The tour and tasting were well worth the visit and will return when we need to restock! We also can't wait to taste what other sports they produce. read more

So I'm at a friend's house in Kingston, NY and we're looking for a something to do. Friend suggests we go to this new distillery across the river near Red Hook. We wanted to go for a quick trip and ended up spending a few hours there. The owner Tom and his wife are super friendly, knowledgable and give one heck of a tour. All of their products' ingredients are sourced within 9 miles of their distillery/farm, which is cool. Even better their vodka and applejack (I think that's what it's called) is really, really tasty. (This coming a guy who drinks mostly only beer and wine.) There's also a little bar are where you can enjoy some of the spirits they make there. (Try their Vodka with homemade ginger beer, it's awesome.) Seriously, this is a great place. I will definitely go back...this time with even more friends. So go there. You will enjoy it. We came up to the area for the weekend to celebrate a friends birthday and she wanted to try out this place. I had found it accidently online while searching for things to do over the weekend. We started out in the little bar on the property with hot toddies made with their own applejack. It was a chilly day and the toddy was the perfect thing to warm us up! We asked for the recipe and they gave it to us. There were only 4 of us on the tour which made it feel intimate. One of the owners(really nice guy too) gave us the tour. We asked a lot of questions and had a good time. I'm not much of a hard liquor person but went along with the program. Out first try was the vodka, boy of boy was that potent stuff, it warmed me up really fast! The second two tries were their applejacks, these were more mellow and the last try was the gin. In my opinion they were all good but I purchased the applejack to make the hot toddy at home. It was fun and we learned a lot and got to see a modern day still. read more

Great afternoon. We chose a tasting and settled on a beverage with our choice liquor. Applejack was really good, and the mixed drink was even better. The staff, including the head distiller, were all exceedingly nice. We sipped on our drinks out by the fire pit. It made for a very enjoyable Sunday afternoon. read more
