Excited to try this new place for sushi. The overall setting is pretty fun to experience. Good vibe and decor. Small plates rotate around the restaurant serving appetizers, sushi, and desserts. All are marked with a small sign. You get charged per plate you take. It takes some patience as plates seem to vary based on prep. All the sushi was fresh and had great flavor. My wife's fried rice was great; fresh, hot, and good flavor. It came served on an automated upper tray. Seaweed salad was great. They also have small robots serving main dishes. Definitely worth a visit. Kind of pricey and the wait time makes sense once you experience everything. Not a huge fan of all the silver ware sitting in the drawer. Doesn't seem best practice for cleanliness.

Brought the whole family here for my son's birthday. Our first experience with conveyer belt sushi was with Kura. We've been twice - once in Pittsburgh and once in Columbus, so we were intrigued when the news of Funshi opening in Beachwood was announced. Kura had good sushi, but I reviewed that the experience was more about the novelty and "gimmicks" more than it was about the food. Aside from the conveyer belt, they had the robots, the plate deposit slots, and the toy prize that drops from above your table for every 15 plates you deposit. They kept grabbing plates just to keep getting to 15!!! The kids had a blast, while my wallet cried for mercy! Back to Funshi... we were expecting the experience to be the same as Kura. For the most part, it was. Beautifully decorated space, the conveyer belt & the robots. However, missing was the prize machine for every 15 plates (the kids were disappointed, but I wasn't), and they didn't have the plate deposit slots - a server will come count your plates at your table when you're done. The food: all we ate came from the conveyer belt. I didn't expect this to be Michelín-rated sushi... it was just decent - maybe slightly above grocery store sushi. I also expected it to be somewhat overpriced. And it was. What irked me was when the kids started grabbing plates with ONE piece of sushi on it. $3.50 for one piece! When you're a party of 6, including 4 kids... that adds up really fast!! Do I think what I paid for the sushi was worth it? No. I would not go back strictly for their sushi, but they had many other interesting things on their menu that I would like to try... like their ramen.

Great ambiance. Good experience. The revolving belt and robotic waiters were awesome. The service was top notch and very accommodating. The restaurant was super bright and inviting. As for the food, it was good not bad but I have had better quality of sushi. The wasabi was a miss for me. It was hot but not wasabi hot. Everything was very generic in the best way generic could be. The matcha was unlike any I've ever had. It wasn't bad just not what I am use too. 4 stars for it being a good restaurant. But I'm sure I would not have to come here again.

Tasty selection of grab your own plate revolving belt sushi. You can order plenty of the usual à la carte items too like edamame, gyoza, ramen, etc.

Funshi Sushi offers a cool concept and a beautiful space. While revolving sushi isn't new to Cleveland (there are about four others), Funshi stands out as the only one on the east side and with robot delivery for drinks and ramen -- though during peak hours, this isn't always consistent. The sushi is fresh, and we did genuinely enjoy it. Plates are a flat $3.50, with portions ranging from 1-4 pieces depending on the roll -- more complex rolls and nigiri typically come with 2 pieces. We haven't tried the ramen yet, but it's also available and delivered by robot. That said, it does tend to be a bit pricier than some other revolving sushi spots. Drinks are typically $6-7, with additional charges for add-ins like boba. Pricing is also less flexible since all plates are $3.50, whereas other sushi bars offer a wider range (often $2.50-$3.75 depending on the item). The design is stunning, but the experience has been mixed. Despite the restaurant being packed with a long wait list, the conveyor belt was about 75% empty, circulating maybe 8 types of sushi (most simple rolls or nigiri). While you can order directly, most guests seemed to be waiting specifically for the conveyor experience. We've visited three times total, and this has been a consistent issue, making the restaurant feel understaffed or poorly paced. Drink presentation didn't match the photos, which was disappointing visually -- though they tasted good, so no real complaints there. Sushi quality is comparable to other revolving sushi spots in Cleveland, but less creative than Watami. The space is also noticeably noisier, likely due to its size and having double the seating and conveyor belts. As the only revolving sushi bar on the east side, Funshi is very much needed, and the demand clearly reflects that. Unfortunately, demand currently seems to outpace what the restaurant can deliver, especially during peak hours. Improved staffing and better conveyor availability would likely reduce wait times and elevate the overall experience. Rating: 3.5 stars -- rounded up to 4 stars in hopes that staffing improves so the conveyor belt isn't as empty and wait times aren't as long. Tip: Make a reservation if possible, or be prepared for a 45-75 minute wait, especially during peak times.

My first ever conveyor sushi experience, i LOVED it! everything was absolutely delicious and fresh. we ordered a few appetizers aside from the sushi belt, including the Korean wings, which were very fresh and crispy and we enjoyed the sauce options that you could choose from. We also got the fried rice which if I have to say is the best fried rice I think I have ever had! It was so flavorful and perfectly cooked. I am so glad we now have a place nearby like this! Absolutely awesome! There are robot servers and friendly staff nearby if you need anything. Fruit teas were also perfect. Also cannot forget to mention the wonderful job they did decorating this place, very gorgeous and aesthetic.

I was so excited when I heard there would be a revolving sushi in Beachwood. I couldn't wait so I went there 2 days after the opening day lol. There were a lot of people there. We waited roughly 15 minutes to get a table. The concept of revolving sushi is very simple. You grab whatever dishes you want from a conveyer that runs next to the tables and then stack the finished plates on your table. At the end, the server will count the plates and charge you based on it. It is $3.50 per plates. Additionally, they do offer other options that are not on the conveyor belt. My boyfriend doesn't like sushi so he ordered steak fried udon. He really liked the seasoning. The steak was okay quality. Meanwhile, I tried a few sushi dishes on the belt such as salmon sushi, deep fried jalapeño, steak sushi, scallop sushi. The quality of sushi was okay, not super fresh. It's kind of what expected. The taste profile was 3/5. However, their ramen and boba were on point. The ramen was rich and delicious. My boyfriend loved their peach strawberry boba. It was so light and refreshing. The pearls were also good as well, chewy and soft. Hence, I give it 4/5 due to that and the fun of picking your food off the belt.

Pringles crab something. Overly sauced and not worth the price.

This place is about novelty only. The sushi quality is very poor, and depending on where you're sitting and how many people are in the restaurant, you can wait a very long time for the plates you want. My husband and I were there on a Monday around 3:30, and empty plate after empty plate went by on the conveyor belt. Plus, the sushi you do get is incredibly overpriced. If you want the experience, go ahead and go, but I bet you won't go back. I know I'm not.

And if you want something specific, just special-order it -- a robot will literally bring it right to your table. So fun and feels like you're in Japan. The service is consistently quick, and the sushi itself is always fresh and flavorful. We love their classic rolls like the Ohio Roll and Spicy Girl Roll, but they also keep things exciting with creative items like sushi sandwiches and sushi tacos. They're always coming up with something new. Pricing works differently here than most places: each plate color has its own price, so veggie rolls tend to be cheaper while raw options are a bit higher. It's super easy to keep track as you go. And definitely save room for taiyaki -- a warm, fish-shaped Japanese cake traditionally filled with sweet red bean paste (they sometimes offer fun variations too). It's the perfect sweet finish. All in all, this spot impresses us every single time. Great food, fast service, and such a unique experience -- one of our absolute favorites in Cleveland.

We returned for dinner this time and we're really glad we did. If you head to Lee Rd in Cleveland Hts you will find several very good establishments south of Cedar Rd. But if you go a few blocks north of Cedar you will come upon a cute little stainless steel diner right out of the 1950's. You have arrived at "Abundance Culinary". Modern Chinese concept curated by Executive Chef Liu Fang. Upon entering we were greeted by a very kind and professional gentleman who immediately seated us at a comfortable table in the center of the restaurant where we were quickly greeted by Nathaniel, a marvelous young man with a ready smile and quick whit. He introduced himself, filled our water and introduced their sommelier. A pleasant woman with a friendly demeanor. She explained the evenings offerings without appearing condescending. Her suggestions were spot on. The staff worked together all evening like a fine tuned machine. At any moment someone would suddenly appear at our table to satisfy our every desire. Our meal started with the "Dumplings Variety Sampler" which gave us 2 of each of the available 4 different dumplings. They were an excellent start... flavorful, with just a touch of spice yet not too filling. I followed that with the "Lamb Shank" perfectly prepared and loaded with flavors. My wife & brother had the "Wagyu Xiao Chao Beef" which they said was excellent. My sister in law had the "Dan Dan Noodles" which was full of flavor but a little too spicy for her taste. We followed our meal with an excellent cup of coffee and the "Chinese Cobbler". It was a marvelous evening with exceptional service and wonderful food. We will definitely return and you should do yourself a favor and pay them a visit.

Both times my experience was pretty wonderful. Came here for dinner on Mother's Day because Lao Szechuan was a 45-min wait. Welp, my 7-yr old's simple sushi order took 45min to get so on second thought, we definitely should've just waited! My BF ordered a coconut Thai soup and it was $9 for a half filled tiny bowl with only a few pieces of mushroom and bits of tofu. He liked it but was put off by the tiny amount, lack of veggies and high price. I ordered the Dragon noodle which came with the chef's recommendation. The amount of noodles in the bowl was a joke. And they took the cheap route by using rice noodles instead of wheat, egg or anything else. The spare ribs were a bit overcooked and dry but at least not bland. I wouldn't pair it with broccoli--bak choy, mushrooms, woodear, bamboo would've been so much better. And Asian. The worst part about the visit is that our server never updated us on where the sushi went. I had to ask a different server who told us the sushi orders were lost. Okay...still no apology or acknowledgement of where the dish went after ordering it 40+ min ago. When it finally came, the other server brought it out and our server said nothing about it. My poor daughter was so hungry and watching us eat our dishes. I gave her a big portion of my meal so she could enjoy dinner as well. The place cleared out and emptied completely as we were still trying to enjoy the sushi that just came out. No apology, no offers of comped meal or discount...I even had to ask for chopsticks and water refills and the check and a takeout container. The value is just nil here and the quality has gone down since first visiting here in 2022. Service is bad and their shades don't even go down so the sun was obnoxiously in our face the entire time.
