It's a hidden gem.. the perfect five star fun park for kids of any age.. we were driving back from Vermont to New Jersey and found this place on the way.. it's actually wanted to do some go karting and I found this place through Google and it had good reviews.. yeah even though it's not the biggest go karting tracks kids had ample fun.. a smaller track but they had about 21 laps per person.. It was fun. Kids went to the go kart twice .. and pricewise. It wasn't exuberantly expensive like other the so-called go karting tracks... we paid about $70 for 12 activities, which wasn't bad at all.. There were also batting cages. Kids had fun hitting baseballs at 405060 MPH. Mini golf was fun too... they had 14 holes and somewhere really difficult.. kids also loved the basketball area .. Really good place to past time for about two or three hours . Staff were so friendly and helpful... not much to eat around, but they had cold drinks.. very good experience overall .. read more

The mini golf challenges were fun enough but the entire course could use some TLC. Many of the tubes and troughs that are meant to move your ball to better or worse locations are broken or jammed. The water was turned off and is critical to a few of the holes. Borders are missing so your ball goes off the course and into a muddy ditch. Lights are broken and wiring is exposed (I assume it's not live but it's still shabby at best). The "grass" carpeting is worn and wrinkled making accurate putts nearly impossible in some situations. read more

Is this place a bit overpriced for what it is? Yeah, kinda. Is it a bit run down in some places? Sure. Is this Disney-level service? Absolutely not. But the kids had fun, despite the fact that it was a million degrees and sunny. The folks in the ticket booth were nice. It felt a little bit like a scam, though, since we paid $12/kid for our kids to get the "unlimited fun pass," and then quickly realized that no one was checking hand stamps. That said, the fun house was a huge hit with the kids (4.5, almost 7, and 7.5), especially the younger one. The oldest could do the spider slide, but the shorter kids couldn't. The bounce house was good, but HOT -- the kids needed to wear socks to go in it. For the adults standing around, a couple of sun umbrellas would've been greatly appreciated. The teenager working the mini go-karts was SO sweet and kind -- the 4.5 year old was a little too short to fully depress the gas pedal, so he *pushed* my kid multiple times around the track (nearly getting run over by the older kids several times!) in the blistering hot sun -- truly above and beyond, and we tipped him for it. read more

My wife and I had a date night and we decided to play some miniature golf. I decided to go here since I always enjoyed it during my younger years. We had a great time! The place wasn't busy probably due to coronavirus. It was nice for us to finally get out of the house and have an activity to do. Staff here was very friendly! This is solely a review of their miniature golf course. My friend and I are trying to play every course within about an hour or so of Albany, and it seems to me that many of the course we have visited or plan to visit are falling behind in creativity. That was not the case here. Many of the holes are designed with "secret" tubes, passages, or troughs that divert your ball closer to the cup if you manage to get it in them. I really like that. While I have yet to find a place with moving obstacles anymore (ex: wind mill or clown's mouth), many courses seem almost devoid of any optional challenges. They just plunk a rock down in the middle of the green and call it a day. Here, there were lots of things to keep you on your toes. Ones that come to mind are a foot bridge under a spray of water that led to an alligator which if you hit it in his mouth came out the tail by the hole (!) and a mountain ramp you had to hit it up for it to come out a sluice waterfall on the back. The playing surface looked to be all new, and astroturf. It wasn't the typical flat, thin green rolled carpet that most places have. This was thick and dense and nice to play on. But, it was littered with leaves, acorns, sticks, dirt, and rocks which come from the many trees that are in the course. The shade was appreciated, but a daily leaf blowing is mandatory. The course started out pretty easy, but the last 6-8 holes were extremely difficult for me. The real problem seemed to be that they all featured one classic problem: hit the ball a certain way or it will roll back to the tee. Many of the holes were hit it up a hill and clear the crest or have it roll back, hit it through a hole in an obstacle or have it bounce back, or hit it onto a ramp and safely navigate the water hazard or have it bounce around and off the green and float back. This is frustrating. One hole I managed a "faux hole in one" in that the first shot rolled back to start, but the second shot one-putted into the cup. I lost by three holes. Two were downright frustrating, including hole #16 which has you hit it up a ramp or else the ball falls down into a tube and spits out onto the green. But the tube was jammed, so at least 4 people between our group and the group ahead of us lost our balls. There was a pile of balls on the grass by a bench at the bottom (not matching our colors) that we used for the remaining holes. They better fix #16 as it is no fun to not have your ball. That being said, this course is dripping with nautical theme. Boats are all over the place that you play up, through, and in. Fish, sharks, alligators, life preservers, etc and scattered all over the place. Sadly, many are showing years of wear and some are now unsafe (screws sticking out, wood rotting, etc). One bench I sat on had the other end stick up because the nails had rotted through the wood. More, safer benches on the first 9 holes would have been appreciated. In the end, we had a great time. For some of the early holes, all I could smell was bacon from a nearby restaurant which made me hungry. Then I lost by three holes. Now I am hungry to come back and avenge my great defeat! *Note: the hours on Yelp are not correct (or more accurately, the hours change seasonally yet they don't on Yelp). read more

10/10 childhood staple. If you love mini golf you'll love this place and you can walk up and get ice cream from Lickity. Love this place.

A nice little spot close to the "center" of East Greenbush, your kids will not want to leave. Mini golf is really fun, almost scenic with the river and water works. Rock wall, batting cages, go karts, bumper cars, jungle gym, bank shot basketball, sky jumper, water bumper cars, even the challenging giant spider slide your kids will struggle to get through the 6 crisscross bungie strap levels to be able to slide down in accomplishment. The list goes on. On a nice spring day, this place is booming. Full parking lot, birthday party pavilion, kids running around everywhere, but spread out enough it doesn't seem crowded. Nice wood bench chairs at every event leave you feeling comfortable as you chill and the kids run off the energy. They sell food/drinks, and BBQ and great Ice Cream you can walk right over to without leaving. Not to mention the town wide walking/biking trail runs through the back and opens up for a stop in the park. Have mom take the baby for a walk while you stay with the bigger kids. Or everyone can bike down. Even better. Win/win. Now for the price. Events range from 4 dollars to a max of 12 dollars per event for a combo deal. Here's the kicker, for 65 bucks, you can get a 12 punch card that's good all summer and often doubles up and cuts all the prices literally in half. A single punch gets your kid a stamp for the "FunPlex combo deal" gets you 6 different events all day long where you can leave and come back as many times as you want. Please please please tell me where you can go anywhere anymore for what works out to be $5 for a stamp to play all day. Or take you and your two kids through 18 holes of MiniGolf for 5 bucks per kid. Its a steal. Some might say some of the activities are a bit dated, sometimes a coin dropped in the batting cage doesn't work but they are quick to give you a second coin for your time and get it running again for a second, free run (explaining people try to cheat the machines and almost break them). There are tons of deals: buy one get one, free cards, free cage coins if you buy more than 5, etc. The staff care and are excellent. Go kart run times are more than fair. This place has been around for a while, so what if you can tell. It's still a gem. And that's why you will see me and half the town there many times throughout the season. This is a fun place. Now, let me begin, by saying that I visited for this very first time as a girl's night out to play mini-golf. I wish I had known about this place when my son was small. It's a charming, small amusement park type place. If you remember the old Hoffman's you will get the picture (though, it's smaller than that was.) They have go karts, bounce houses, fun giant blow up balls that kids get into to "walk on water", 18 hole mini golf, trampoline and more. They also have a snack shack with burgers, hot dogs, soft drinks, ice cream. The prices for things were also very reasonable (cheap!) A multi-activity outdoor amusement center which has very good variety of activities and friendly staff but somewhat indifferent maintenance and middle of the road bargain for the buck in terms of entertainment value. The activities they have are: Adult Go-karts (for kids 56" and up, too) - decent small track, cars work, they maintain order well. Fun. Note they have two karts with space for a passenger, good for a parent driving with a smaller kid passenger (you can be less ahtn 56" to be a passenger). Kiddy Go-karts (for little kids from about 3-10) - surprisingly fully-functional, our crew managed to handle them fine on a short track. Batting cages: baseball from 35 MPH up, softball 40 MPH up. Tired equipment and machines that kept getting clogged, and you're just hitting into a net. Nice to have but below average for a cage complex. Advantage: 21 balls per token, two tokens for $4 card punch, so you can do the math and figure out how cheap it is. (10 cents a ball, more or less). Mini-golf: on the big plus side, an originally-designed course with a funny nautical sinking-boat theme and a lot of character; on the down side, extremely poorly-maintained ("hole in one" chutes resulted in stuck balls, there was wrinkled astroturf everywhere, they hadn't bothered to sweep off leaves and such off the greens so half of them were unplayable). Less fun than a barrel of monkeys as a result. Rock-climbing: standard tall rock-climbing wall that can take two at a time. Bungee-Trampoline: wasn't entirely certain the safety restraints were enough here, 200 lb weight limit which eliminated me about 9th grade. Hamster Balls in the pool: this is where you go inside a transparent person-sized beachball and cavort about, very fun for the middle-school and below kids. Bumper boats: we didn't try this because you really have to expect to get wet, but it looked like a lot of fun. Bankshot basketball: courts need a lot of spiffing up, and they don't have an automated scoring system, so it's more of a quick fun goof but I like the schtick. G-force spinning wheel: we didn't try this here but have done it elsewhere, can be fun, but no direct report. Little kid stuff: Dinosaur bouncy house - slightly larger than usual bouncy house with multiple rooms. Climbing and ball area with tunnels - smallish but still fun for the very little ones. "Spider Walk" - climb up webwork and slide down (tougher for really little kids) - was closed for maintenance twice while we were there so the fun factor vs. safety factor is a little questionable. Each of these cost between $3 and $6 per go, and you can get a "Fun Card" for $40 for ten attractions of any sort. This was a bit expensive to my mind but the staff were easy going about giving extra time and chances when the lines weren't bad. There wasn't a ton of waiting on a holiday, but the set-up they have for issuing the cards takes up too much time needlessly - basically one booth to go to to buy your ticket/punch card, and you also have to go back through line (sometimes) to get hands stamped or equipment or coupons or what have you. And they have a staff that sort of roves among the attractions, so you may have to go to the booth and wait for them to call an attendant over to the thing you want to try. There's a soft-serv icecream place way up in the front with pretty standard stuff, and you can buy drinks at the ticket booth for $1.50 each. I was very, very annoyed by the fact that all the drinking fountains, on a very hot day, were all turned off, and I'm considering this as a factor in whether I go back; I don't have to have to spend a fortune to hydrate the kids next time on top of the admission fees. The verdict from the younger members of the set was that they enjoyed it and would come back for some of the things, but it wasn't theme-park-enthusiastic. Which is about what you'd expect for a middle-of-the-road day out, maybe more expensive per kid than the movies but with outdoor activities that mostly required some physical play, probably better for them. read more

The husband and I took my step-daughter here one day to kill some time. Overall, I found the place to be a bit pricey. We opted for the package that included a few different attraction for maybe $15 or $20 (I really can't remember). Captain Hook's House of Fun, which is more of a ball crawl was a bit disappointing for the kid. She's 7 and the max recommended age, but she really could have done without it. The Bouncy House was ok, but it had rained earlier in the day and it was surrounded by mud and part of the house was filled with water. I think she would have enjoyed it more if it wasn't all wet - no fault of Funplex, but it would be nice if they attempted to dry it off a bit or shut it down so kids don't end up with wet pants as they come down the slide. The basketball challenge was of little interest to her. Maybe it was because nobody told us when we bought the package that included this that we had to come ask for a basketball. The trick shots were a bit old for her and she only mustered the effort to shoot a loose ball a few times and then move on. The Spider Mountain was probably the best thing for her. It's a net-climb followed by a giant twisty slide. She really enjoyed doing it, but was frustrated by the unsupervised kids that were going the wrong way up the slide and climbing down the nets and interrupting her sliding. Really on the day we were there, I'm quite certain the staff wouldn't have noticed if we just walked in and started letting her play since it seemed that's what some of the kids (and adults on the basketball court) were doing. The best part of our trip here was the ball that floated on water. I don't know how to describe it really - the kid gets in, they inflate it, and then they can run around on the water in a bubble and not get wet. That was an extra $5, but easily the best money we spent. It looked like a ton of fun and if the line wasn't so long I would have considered doing it myself. read more

Clean, refreshed, ready for summer fun! I was here with my granddaughters and so impressed with all of the money and care that has been poured in to make this little amusement park safe and fun. Staff were friendly, followed safety protocols, and prompt when kids needed help. As you can see safety signs are posted and enforced. The bumper cars are brand new. Everything is painted and secure. Unfortunately the fun park closed early the night we went, and we had no warning that this would happen. Looking at their social media, no message was posted either saying that this would be so. We finished about 75% of the mini-golf course in an hour with our 13-person group until we were asked to leave. The holes we did play were well-maintained, unique, and fun, though, and we had a great time. I understand that it's late in the season and that they were short staffed that night, but it was still disappointing. Simply put, the Funplex in East Greenbush should change its name to the Shitplex. This place flat out sucks. Not only does the place look like a downtrodden wasteland but the functionality of all the 'attractions' corresponds to the look. Everything is a kitschy broken piece of used garbage and the rickety stuff that children are supposed to play on looks more dangerous than fun. The miniature golf course is amongst the worst wastes of time you will ever encounter. Minigolf is supposed to a fun care-free activity, yet when the poorly design holes do nothing but play against you and create impossible shots, it's more frustrating than it is fun. The holes are cheaply made and look shoddy and ripped apart. The little bits of minigolf that you are supposed to shoot for (windmills, secret passages, tunnels) simply do not work. If you hit the ball down the 'yellow brick path,' instead of going toward the hole, the misaligned bricks make your ball land in the mulch instead of the putting green. The balls got stuck in various pipes and the overall layout is simply pathetic. Further, it looks cheap and the impossibility of some of the stupider designs cause gridlock on the course. Avoid the golf course. The batting cages are a disaster. When the tokens don't work, you'll have to ask an attendant to fix the situation. They must be used to this because they readily offer you free plays. However, the free plays sometimes only throw 5 pitches compared to the 20 that is advertised. The strike zone is nonexistent and the pitch speeds vary. It's more of a guessing game than a batting cage and even so, it's unreliable. The go-carts suck. Perhaps I received a bum cart, but an obese man who was texting (yes, texting) was able to zip by me even when slamming on the gas. In any case, the worker were indifferent and I puttered around the course miserable. I didn't try the food, but from the looks of it, I wouldn't recommend to anyone remotely concerned about their personal health. There are a few other cheap kiddy attractions that look pathetically beaten down. If you hate your children, this is the place for a birthday party - otherwise you'd have more fun across the street at the Price Chopper. read more

Excellent low cost kid's birthday destination. We hosted our son's 3rd birthday here last week, and could not have been happier with the day. The staff were incredibly accommodating and went out of their way to make sure everyone had a good time. It had rained the night before, so the bounce house was too wet for the kids to use, so they offered to let us use the mini go-karts instead (which is usually an up-charge). The kids LOVED the go-karts and the ball pit, and were way more interested in the golf course than I thought a pack of 3 year olds would be. Everyone had a great time, and it definitely didn't break the bank. HIGHLY recommend for early fall birthdays. Low cost, not too crowded, kids had a great time. read more

We tried to go here today, Father's Day. Their website has been saying for at least the last week that they are "open, open, open!" every day at 10 am. I also tried calling four times and never got an answer (the phone number is also to a personal cell phone number and not a business). We arrived at 10:15 and it was dark. Knocked on the door and a guy came out and said they open at 11. When we said we had checked the website and called several times, he said, "Oh yeah, we should change our website." No apology or anything. Poor customer service, especially for a business that is trying to reopen and probably needs the money. They lost our business and we do not plan to go back. read more

DO NOT have a birthday party here. It was the most ridiculous and insulting event of my life. The minute I got there I was rushed under the picnic area to get the kids to quickly eat their pizza. I barely had time to figure out what the hell I was doing before The "Party planner" was asking me to bring the cake out. She reminded me a dozen times that they had another party coming in (they book in one hour increments). She brought the cake out and let it sit in 90 degree weather while we rushed to open presents (the party planner suggested we take the presents home and open them which I thought was completely tacky) so by the time we inhaled our pizza, the ice cream cake had melted into a sloppy mess. The cake was another issue. It looked like they threw this thing together in the backroom. It was in a beat-up metal tin and the only decoration it had was sprinkles. There was absolutely no pride taken in this thing. They didn't even ask how old my son was now that I think of it which was the reason they had five candles on a cake for an eight year olds birthday party. My son wasn't able to open all of his presents because we had been kicked out of the pavilion for the next party. I happen to see a note hung in there office stating "we do not decorate the cake for parties." What? Are you serious? I wish I had taken a picture to show how absurd this cake was. Unfortunately I barely had time to take pictures of the party at all do to the constant push from the staff to move it along. Here is the clincher people. I purchased the most expensive package for my son and his friends which included 2 hours open play for the park. When the "party planner" handed them the wrist bands, she marked them to end at 2:45. We were suppose to have the pavilion for an hour (until 1:00) but there intentions was to have us out in 45 minutes!!! 45 minutes to have a party for a bunch of excited eight year olds which includes pizza for lunch, presents to open, and a cake. When I addressed it with the "party planner" that she jipped us out of 15 minutes, she kind of just shrugged her shoulders at me. The bathrooms stunk to high hell and should be addressed. They were filthy. Not OMG this place is so busy and they couldn't keep it up dirty. They looked like no-one has given them a good cleaning in a very long time. The smell of urine was overwhelming. There was absolutely no respect for our event. It was a chop shop party place who could care less about the memories or the quality of there service. In and out as fast as possible is their motto. I have gotten better service from McDonalds for a birthday, I kid you not. I could see this place being okay to kill a few hours with the kids on a slow weekend. When it comes to having a kids party, this place is a joke and I left completely insulted with the service. They should be ashamed of themselves for treating their customers like cattle and for that, I will not be returning. I will not give them another cent. Too bad because this was not only my first experience at Funplex, but also for some of the parents who attended. You guys lost several future customer. read more

We have loved this place and try to come often, but today we got to witness staff yelling at each other in two different episodes lasting about 20 minutes while the kids on the track kept driving. About 15 witnesses. The group of girls in front of us were clearly afraid of this guy, especially when he came back a 2nd time, to argue with the kid working the track about the height requirement for the go carts. How is this at all professional or appropriate in front of children? I took video because I was afraid it would escalate since this guy was so aggressive. And the kid working the track was told to measure it but this guy was mad about having his measurement questioned. Another staff member had brought over the measuring tape and it would have been no big deal for them to just have a quiet conversation away from the kids. We had done two activities and got a refund for $45 (so they refunded almost all of the pass, which I appreciate). But just beware if you're bringing your kids here that staff may not behave appropriately. read more

Absolutely overpriced. We came for a birthday party for my nephew and aside from the one teenage girl in the window, the staff was extremely unprofessional and one was downright rude. The "pavilion" for the birthday party was overrun with bees and my niece and another boy were both stung. We were rushed out of the pavilion, we were told we had an hour, however 10-15 minutes were wasted waiting for the pizza and then members of the next party were standing next to the pavilion waiting when we still had 10 minutes left. The provided ice cream cake was melted by the time the kids could eat it- and some were still finishing their pizza. The workers running the rides were clueless. One little boy was twisted around coming down from the Rockwall. His mother came to complain and the worker apologized, however, when she turned and walked away he said "no, actually I'm not sorry." If that incident happened with my kid, I'd have his job. The cost of 10 "rides" is almost as much as a day at The Great Escape. I can't believe people even pay that much. What a joke. Save your money and go to a real amusement park where the employees aren't rude and the kids don't get stung by bees. read more

I read "Matthew P."'s review before going there yesterday for a kid's b-day party, so I was not expecting much - but his review is way off. Not even close. The park was well-kept and well-staffed. Most importantly, though, is that the kid's had a blast. The pizza and wings served at the b-day party were average. Just average....but you don't go there for food. The one issue I had was that it was a little pricey and the ticket system is a pain. (Blue tickets for this at this price, green tickets for that at this other price, pink tickets for that an yet another price). They really need a more basic, simple pricing system. read more

I'm reviewing on a curve here - most of the negative reviews are way off from my experience. Brought my 5 and 8 year old tonight for the first time. It was an active Friday night, but far from crowded. I had no issues with staff, and while there wasn't much staff supervision of the bounce house part, as a parent, it's my job to supervise my children. All staff that I encountered were friendly, even the young one working the Go-Karts. He even came out on the track once to get me (and my 5 year old) unstuck after we got spun out for the third time. He didn't yell at anyone, but reminded the kids that did it to not bump cars. He was a good sport about it, as was everyone else. I thought the price was ok, the staff didn't even punch extra for smaller attractions. We didn't play miniature golf, so I can't comment on that. Look, I spent a total of $50 and we spent over 2 hours there. It's not the great escape, but it's on par, maybe even a little cheaper, then going out to a movie. My kids had a blast and want to go back. I still have 3 punches left on the card, hopefully we can use them on a subsequent trip. Go if you have smaller kids and want something close by that's out of the norm and won't break the bank. Stay home if you like to nit-pick every little problem and expect the universe to hold your hand and cater to every little desire you have. read more

I have unfortunately been to Funplex many times as a client of mine likes the go-karts. The people who work here are the epitome of unprofessional. Most employees are teens/early 20's and on multiple occasions I have had to sit in my car because a cluster of them is hanging out, smoking cigars, at the area where they collect tickets for go-karts. When I complained to the woman behind the counter, she said she would talk to them, though she did not while I was there and they were doing it again about a week later so it didn't seem to make a difference. The minigolf facilities are in poor condition, so your ball swirls around the cup instead of going in and the greens are trashed. The area for little kids is a bit better, but not enough to keep them entertained for very long. Overall, WAY too expensive (six bucks for a 5 minute go-kart ride around a boring track?), poorly cared for, and poorly managed. Don't waste your money. read more

My family and I absolutely love Funplex! It's so nice to have a place to spend a fun-filled day without having to drive for hours. My kids range in age from 4 to 11 and there is really something for each of them. In fact, we have had 2 awesome birthday parties at Funplex and our kids and guests had a ball! Such a great place for a kid's birthday party. Our favorite attractions are the bumper boats, the go-karts/mini-go-karts, the bungee trampoline and the really cool miniature golf course. read more

Don't plan a Birthday party with them. Mine was double booked and the service was terrible, bounce house full of water and we weren't aware all the kids got soaked. They didn't even offer a free second pizza I got charged for that as the pizza is included in the price i thought it was great, but I didn't realize they would cut 15 slices into one small pizza. They should have offered a discount for all the problems we had. Once we got to the pavilion we were rushed out because they double booked the day. What else??? There was soo many things that went wrong I can't even recall them all now cuz it was a few weeks ago. Well the slushy machine was not slushy, they had no coke only diet, the trampoline was closed mid-way of being there. They were way understaffed, one poor girl kept running around. IF you want to use attraction tickets you need to wait for an attendant which are no where to be found. All kinds of kids climbing a rope tree with no supervision, my daughter got stuck at the top. I booked 2 weeks prior, called multiple times to ensure all was good, and I was re-assured only to get there and have to scramble to try and make my daughters birthday fun and not totally suck. Thanks for nothing. This place is terrible and I spent over $200 w/them then they accused me of not paying while i was still there WTF? This place seriously is terrible. read more
