this is a great spot if you're in the mood for solid Mexican food with a fun, casual vibe, but the service can be hit or miss. The food is great! Their tacos, burritos and chips with salsa are always fresh and satisfying, and the portions are solid. It's definitely one of those spots where the food itself makes the trip worth it that said, the only thing to know is that Service can be a little slow at times. We waited a bit before being attended too, overall it's a solid spot for a good Mexican food in a fun casual setting.

New menu this year and seemingly trying out table service instead of ordering at the counter. I miss some old menu items but its still Funchos. Quality is good and staff were super friendly

Met up with a family member while they are camping around the area. Although Taco is not my kind of food, i was immediately drawn to the rusty, artsy appeal of the place. We order our food & pay for out food first then we look for our seat and wait there to have it delivered. Place is clean, no Ac but we came on a mild summer afternoon so we were omet. There are fans around but maybe not enough during the heatwave. So just bear that in mind. Food came hot, tasty but greasy as expected. They have home made hotsauce for the spicy lovers No bathroom, only porta potties. Theres an icecream area across, worth checking out if you still have space for dessert.

We went for pumpkins on the east end this morning and decided to stop here for lunch. It was so good! No table service so we ordered and sat down. The seating was perfect for this beautiful fall day that felt like spring. We ended up ordering a bunch of small items to share and everything was really, really good! Favorites were the chicken quesadillas and nachos.

Well the food was very good but the service was slow, I had to hunt down a waitress to get our check and had to ask twice for a cover for the leftovers. All in all it could have been 4 stars but leaned more towards 3. The inside is ok but nothing special to write home about.

Been wanting to try to this place out for a while and went one Saturday with my finance. Upon arriving we were both lost as far as how to order food. Funchos is a place you order and find your own seat, they don't have waiters/waitress who take your order. After sitting down lost for a lil while we finally asked a staff member how to order food and we go up and ordered. I ordered a couple of tacos and some nachos. My fiancé ordered a few tacos as well and we got 2 margaritas. Margaritas were ok and nothing special and the food was ok. I had very high hopes, but the food was nothing special at all. I had way better Mexican on Long Island and I wouldn't come out my way to come here. Overall I would come back here and try other items and give it another try if I'm in the neighborhood.

This is my girlfriend's favorite Mexican place that she's been going to for years, so I was very excited to see what all the hype was about. Came for an early dinner on a sleepy Sunday. Small unassuming little place, but it packs a lot of personality in it. The atmosphere has great colorful Mexican decor that definitely gets me in the mood for a fiesta. Service was great, very patient and food came out hot, fresh and quick! We started with chips and guac, and they definitely don't skimp on your guac portion like most places do. We both did quesadillas, I got the surf wax Q with chorizo and she got the funchadilla with steak. Both equally delicious, but the cilantro cream sauce on the surf wax was what really sold me, I just might put that on everything. Seating is a little limited (they were also doing some renovations at the time) but they have great to-go containers too if you want to take it and run. Parking is easy right in the attached lot too. Everything on the menu sounded great and I would love to come back here in the summer and sit outside, enjoy a cold hard beverage and down a few tacos. That's what really gets me through the winter months!

I've said it once on this account and I'll say it again... Funchos is one of the best places I have found so far since moving to Long Island. The food here is remarkably fresh and authentically prepared. You can immediately sense the time that goes into crafting each dish, evident in all the flavors. I (naturally) drifted towards all things Birria, and let me tell you, the empanadas were just as good as they always are. Crunchy but so tender and yummy in the middle. The sauce accompanying the tacos is nothing short of heavenly. The restaurant's decor adds to the overall charm. During covid they put time and effort into expanding their outdoor area. Take a look at those adorable table tiles - they're just the icing on the cake of the decor. We ordered: - guac and chips - Birria empanadas - Birria tacos - TQM - Hanalei Still need to come back for a marg though.......

This place took a major nosedive in quality and attentiveness of staff. Came here today, ordered a burrito and a quesadilla and asked 2 times on the phone "please no meat just black beans". I get the food ask the guy at the counter to make sure there's no meat, get back to the car, there's chicken in the quesadilla and they put the wrong beans in the burrito. I go back, have them re make it, and they get it wrong AGAIN!! No sauce on the quesadilla, no guacamole in the burrito (which I ordered) and what we did get was so greasy we didn't eat it. The people taking orders on the phone are rude, the young guy working the counter was nice but that's really the only positive thing I have to say. I hear they changed owners recently, which is why they're trying to pass as a full service restaurant, but I'm really hoping they change back because this place used to be great but the last few times I've came it was horrible. Train your staff for crying out loud. Every negative review mentions how rude they are

I have been a loyal customer since 2001 due to the quality and consistency of the food. The owner, Alfanso always greets you with a smile. The El Greco taco has a generous portion of chicken compared to other places I have ordered from. After your meal, enjoy a cup of Mexican hot chocolate. There's a hint of spice that warms your palate. The atmosphere is fun and relaxing.

I came to this place while in town for a few days because I liked how the pictures displayed a cool Mexican funky vibe. You order at the window and take a number then find seating. The patio seating was covered for the most part and it was cool outside. I got the chicken burrito and a pina colada. I was too hungry to snap a picture of the burrito but it was a generous size. It honestly tasted like the chipotle burritos. The pina colada did taste pretty good though. It's a cute little spot off the main road, I would give it another try when back in Long Island.

Taqueria Mexico is very close to the Riverhead Aquarium. If you're looking for an authentic Mexican Taco restaurant, look no further. It's located in a strip-shopping mall, my GPS found it with no problems. Walking inside the restaurant, its not very fancy. The whiteboard is a little hard to decipher and the friendly woman behind the counter will provide a menu which is more english friendly. The menu is extensive, we're here for lunch so platters might be overkill. I want 3 tacos along with some Guac and chips. My wife orders three tacos as well. She asked if there are fish or shrimp tacos, the woman shakes her head no. I know what I want: Chorizo Taco Al Pastor Taco Beef Tongue Taco The chips come out and they're a little onion heavy. I am in the zone, wife? Not having it, she pushes the onions to the side and doesn't eat the Guac.. The tacos are brought to the table by the cutest little woman. I asked which plate has the chicken? She said something in Spanish and put them in front of us. I didn't have my glasses but I see the Chorizo Taco so I take that plate. My wife is in the zone, I am loving the Chorizo Taco! Packed with great tasting Chorizo, I'm a total fan at this point. My wife got the Tongue Taco by mistake so I'm told to knock off a star. All in all, a nice place to grab an authentic taco or Mexican dish. PS - Cold Jarritos are in the ice box, my favorite is grapefruit
