Warning to anyone who is purchasing a RV. Stay away from Fun Town RV in Cleburne! Everything went smoothly until I got it off the lot. The battery was dead, the toilet leaks, water heater was not heating, AC wasn't working correctly, front door didn't line up. These are all basic things if someone did look at would have been easy fix. I tried speaking with several people at Fun Town with no help. Now I'm out the money to fix. I trusted and believed them when they said there service people looked it over. They may have looked at but that was it. They are known for get them out Quick! No I didn't get an extended Warranty because they said everything was working perfectly! Don't believe them! Get a warranty!! read more

On 10.8.2022 I went to Jarrod McGhee's Fun Town Cleburne store to purchase what I thought (2023) Apex bumper RV. Two weeks after delivery, I was camped out at lake and the roof began to leak during the rain. The mobile mechanic came out, climbed on the roof and repaired what would be leak #1... A month later during the first freeze, I came outside to an ice sculpture underneath the RV because of another water leak. Who knows how long this camper was sitting on McGhee's lot before he slapped a 2023 tag on it... On 12.23.22 I scheduled a service appointment with Brooke M. She told me the next available appointment would be 1.31.23, which because of another winter event would turn out to be 2.10.23 (47 days). I dropped the camper at their check in point and gave them the week they request to get camper pulled in. A couple days later I requested to come by the shop and see my RV with the under belly pulled off so I could take photos for warranty and insurance purposes since water leaking and freezing the entire winter. I was denied access to come see the camper. At around day 12 I could not get Brooke to give me an email or phone update on the status of the RV. The communication with Brooke was so horrible I finally drove out there to find out what was going on as I was told the camper was in the stall. Brooke did not even have the decency to meet me in person when I dropped the RV off and when it was returned back to me by luck of me going up there and asking for a status update. Magically, Brooke calls my phone when I am standing in the camp store asking the make ready team for a status update... As I am finding out, Jarrod McGhee instructs his service advisors to not meet with customers in person. I paid Fun Town's in house hauler to tow the camper back to my camp ground and we did a walk around of the RV. We noticed, as the other Reviewers mentioned, a dent at the rear of the camper. Brooke probably knew of the dent to the rear of the camper and did know what to have to address it. As the other reviewers mentioned, the gentleman who moves RVs with the forklift must have impaired vision... I've worked in the service repair industry where my team was 5-star and here is what I will say about Fun Town. I would highly recommend customers to not do business with any of Jarrod McGhee's locations as horrible customer service comes right from the CEO desk. I would go to camp world, motor home specialist, any where smaller where you get Quality customer service vs just being Jarrod McGhee's sales quota. If you do decide to do business with any of Jarrod McGhee's location allow me to offer the following suggestions to prevent you from banging your head against the wall for doing a $60K+ transaction with Jarrod McGhee's team... Sales 1: Jarrod McGhee instructs sales staff to sign contracts before you take delivery of the RV. My suggestion, skip McGhee's BS process and do not sign any contract until the sales staff can show you running water over the top of your camper while you sit inside it for 30 minutes. I would recommend requesting Jarrod McGhee to hose down the campers. If you can't get McGhee out of his office I would request his vice president Raul Ramirez to hose down the camper insuring no water leaks. Also McGhee or Ramirez hold water pressure with on the system for at least 30 mins so you will know if water is leaking from underneath. If you don't you Will have a 2023 leaking water from all over like myself and the other reviewers. Pictures are attached. Service. 1. I wish I could share a positive experience with this business, as it was the most recommended from many close and local relationships. What a piss poor excuse of an operation. We purchased and were delivered a 'NEW' travel trailer that had dents, dings, scratches and filth on the interior and exterior to say the very least. Since original pickup, we have spoken to many people in sales, management and service, where they look you dead in the face, apologize and act sincere in their concerns. NOT the case for us, unfortunately. We have now returned the trailer for the 3rd time within a week for repairs that we DO not want to be accountable for. Promised a call back by close of business and of course. . .NOTHING. Blake was a wonderful salesman! But, to date, I can tell you that we are less than impressed with other management all the up to the corporate level, quality of service is absolutely gut wrenching and we would absolutely NOT recommend this over other RV businesses in the area. Working with Funtown RV has been the most frustrating thing I have ever done. We purchased a travel trailer from them a few months ago and the salesman was a little rough, but he was young and we considered it an experience issue. There were some issues during our walk around at pickup but were assured any continuing problems would be taken care of. Fast forward 3 months. We have used our camper and their continued to be a problem. Called to schedule service and was told the first appointment available was about a month away. One complaint was a roof leak, keep in mind we only had the camper for 3 months, and service informed me that roof issues were not covered by them and I had to fix it myself, which I did. Dropped off my camper on May 10th and was told someone would be in touch "soon" with a timeline and estimate. After a week no contact so I called them to check in. No one from service was available so they sent an email to all service advisors and the supervisor. After about a week still no contact so I called again. Again, no one from service was available so I got upset. Now they were able to get someone from service on the phone. I explained the situation and they assured me they would get on it. After another week or so still no information on my repair cost or timeline so I called in again. And again, no one from service was available. Finally after 3 or 4 calls I got an estimate. Wouldn't you know they did a "courtesy" roof inspection and there are major roof issues on a camper I have only had for 3 months!! Service told me it was a sales issues, sales said it was a service issue. Also, the issue during the workaround they assure me is working fine even after informing them that it was an issue at pickup and during our 1 use of the camper. I waited a month for an appointment and now we are approaching a month that they have had my camper and no repairs have been completed and still no one returns my call in a reasonable amount of time. These people do not stand behind the products they sell. The will sell you something with problems and then not fix them. This place is ridiculous and once you purchase something from them you apparently are not a priority nor do you matter to them. They do not care what condition their units are in when they release them to customers. STAY AWAY!!! read more

I purchased a travel trailer brand new at the end of 2020. In August, I looked under the trailer and realized there was rust throughout the entire underside. I have never used the trailer on salted roads or near the coast. Everything I have read online says most dealerships do not wash the underside of the trailer off prior to selling their units and all units are manufactured up north. I have contacted Forest River who will not honor repairs under warranty. I feel like I am now stuck with a trailer that is falling apart because the dealer did not do their job and won't make it right. I would highly recommend people to not purchase from this dealership or a Forest River product. read more

Bought a new trailer first day onsite. Promised the world, got there to pick it up and NO KEYS. After multiple tries I told em id bring it back a month later on way to jobsite - we'd switch locks out then. Gave them a weeks notice- showed up - It took 1 1/2 hours to resolve the issue. Then- month later key didn't work in door, they tell me "bring it in". NO- you didn't fix sticking door in front side of this transaction Terrible service after the sale! read more

I waited over 5hrs to finish the walk through process and get a hitch on the camper installed they were closing the gates and asked me why I was still there. So after getting everything wrapped up I told myself I would never go back. Last week against my better judgment we found a camper online that we liked and did not have time to go look at it before leaving out of town. We put a deposit on it and said we would come look at it 3 days later when we get back and then do the paperwork. Less then 24hrs later I get a call saying it sold with no reasoning. Sales team - beyond excellent. Finance fellow - the same - got approvals and everything set up quickly. But when I got to the paperwork department things went south FAST. First, the payments were quite a bit higher than I expected and then came the high-pressure fear pitch (read optional insurance). I said no, so they went away and came back saying they could get the payment down by selling the insurance just over cost. The paperwork fellow later stated that they were actually discounting the loan by 0.25% - so why not do that in the first place? I ended up so confused that I walked out and went to talk to the salesman so he'd know what happened. After talking to him and the finance fellow again I found out that the paperwork fellow and his manager were having me sign off on payments for a 12 yr note over 15 years! Seriously?? Was it because I'm older or a single woman or both? Taking advantage of anyone is the quickest way to lose my business. read more

Bought a brand new RV from these crooks. Didn't even make it 20 miles to the house before trim started falling off, shower head cracked, cabinets fell apart, and LED strip fell down. TV had damage to its screen at the dealership and Funtown didn't manage to send a new one like they promised they would. They failed to include emergency tools to manually operate the jacks, which malfunctioned on the very first boondocks trip. Shop elsewhere. We bought our Kodiak Ultimate just before Covid hit. The sales team was fabulous and we love our travel trailer. Here we are 3 yrs. later needing to take it in while under warranty because of a water heater issue. We were informed it would be 5 weeks before we could get in and if we needed a part replaced we were looking at another 6-10 weeks. I find this very ridiculous just to get an estimate of what is wrong let alone even more ridiculous that they do not keep wearable parts in stock. Screw the warranty...don't buy it...because they will make sure you are not seen for the repair until after the warranty expires! We will find another service place and pay cash. March of 2023 my husband and I purchased a 70,000 Forest River coachman. on the sales end they were quick to call and check in. When signing the paperwork the lady told us that Fun Town as a quality dealer and that even though they didn't do traveling repairs they would work with us to make sure we had any issues taken care of. she implied that they would call the manufacturer on our behalf in the rare event that we had issues. Then we had issues! and radio silence. Our Main AC unit went out. may in Texas. who know how hot it got in 2023 in Texas? Here we are 2024 February 21 and the mobil service tec that we were refered to is not answering our calls. It took from May to Sept to even get fun town to help us with anything and then after paying the service tech $250 for a service call to tell me what I already knew. It's probably similar to other dealerships which is why most auto/Rv dealers have bad reputations. Funtown is no exception, they just want your money and don't care what happens once you walk out the door. With that in mind, please do 2 things, these are a MUST! Get your own independent inspection. Funtown does the absolute minimum in this regard. They don't want to find things wrong because then they have to fix it. It really seems silly that this is the system. Imagine buying a car from someone and having them do their own check instead of taking it to a mechanic. Get your own! Also, leave enough time (weeks) for funtown to be able to fix all of the problems, and there will be lots. The few hundred bucks is worth it to the penny. Please get your own inspection. Do not buy the warranty! It's overpriced and it doesn't cover much. If you want a warranty, buy one privately and you will save thousands of dollars. Seriously, 7000+ saved if you avoid funtown warranty. The finance person will push you really hard to buy it. Coerce, lie, push, insult, coerce some more, just say no! Our salesman was William, and he was amazingly professional, communicated with us even in his day off, and went above and beyond, but in the end we decided to put our Search on hold until we upgraded our tow vehicle. We requested a refund for our deposit and JJ, one of the managers, made sure it was refunded within 24 hours or William putting in the request. If I could leave zero or even negative stars, I would. The best tip I can provide is to read all the reviews here and on Google and on BBB, because all the horror stories are true. This was by far the worst sales and service experience of my life, and I'm over 50. I'll try to keep this brief, but here's what happened to me: I bought a trailer there in August, planning to use it during the late summer and fall, and perhaps early winter. This was my first RV, and while I didn't really know all the ins and outs of the RV, I trusted my sales person. This is a key point - all the people were very polite and nice. It's the policies of the place that get you. Anyway, I paid cash (another mistake - make sure you have a bank that has skin in the game) and drove away with the trailer. When I tried to use it a couple of weeks later, I realized that the electrical system was completely dead. No battery power at all, the solar panel wasn't working. Interestingly, the batteries weren't even clamped down in their compartment. It looked like someone had been working on it. I brought it back to Fun Town for them to replace the batteries (which were completely dead, to the point of being ruined) and the solar panel (and of course, clamp down the batteries) in early September. A few weeks later (yes, almost three weeks), after many calls to pressure them into fixing it soon, they said it was ready, so I drove to the service center to pick it up, planning to take it straight from there to Austin to use it. When they pulled it out, I checked the power, and there still wasn't any power. They hadn't replaced the batteries. They had no explanation for why they hadn't been replaced. I cancelled my trip to Austin and left the trailer there in the hopes that they would actually fix it this time. About a month later, around mid-October, it still wasn't fixed, despite pleading with them to do so, so I contacted the sales department and told them I just wanted to replace it with a new unit that didn't have any issues, but they completely dismissed me and said it was titled to me, so any problems with it were my problems. I spoke with a couple of attorneys, but there's really no recourse for you in this kind of situation. In early November, they still hadn't done any repairs on the trailer, despite countless calls and emails, so I explained my case to the manufacturer, and they agreed that they would work with me directly instead of going through the dealer. It felt great to take it away from Fun Town and I was pleasantly surprised that there was only one small item missing from the side compartments in the trailer. I'll never again conduct business of any kind with ANY Fun Town. read more

This group (I assume all Fun Town RV outlets are under the same corp. umbrella and or run under the same guidelines) is horrible. I bought a one year old TT and asked one simple question which was: Is everything operating correctly and up to industry standards? They said absolutely. I then asked if it had ever had any reported issues or problems and could I get the previous owners name and contact info. They said absolutely not. It is illegal in Texas to give out that info. (which was a lie and should have made me just walk away). In regards to the condition of the TT they said it was just like it came off the factory line. So I trusted them and bought it. Several months later I find black mold in the ceiling after hunting down a roof leak around a plumbing pipe that penetrated the roof. Apparently the TT may have actually been in an accident and some plumbing piping was replaced! I called them and all they could say was you bought it used, one year old, and there is nothing we can do. I asked them about their statements of it being correct, per industry standards and they say they felt it was and that any problem would be a factory build problem from Forest River. They said they had had numerous issues over the years with that manufacturers products but hoped it had been corrected or would be sometime down the road. So the dealership tossed the mfg under the bus. How professional? So I was left to deal with the roof leak, the black mold, the water heater controls and many other items. They are crooks in my opinion or they are just stupid about the RV industry. You decide but buy elsewhere! The finance manager who was really young, maybe 23 years old said his dad owned the Dallas branch and was getting ready to buy all the Fun Town RV locations throughout Texas and Oklahoma soon. This is disheartening since I will never go to a Fun Town RV center ever again if the same people own them all. Just crooks. Beware. If you sleep with dogs you end up with fleas. The black manager was shifty too. He walked in immediately when I asked for the previous owners contact info and agreed with the finance manager that it was illegal. Just a place to buy a trailer. If your long for customer service, look elsewhere. It's like Robert the finance guy is half asleep. When the finance guy doesn't know shit, forgets to tell you anything important, says your credit is better than his you have to wonder how he got the job in the first place. I mean no one likes buying a $20,000 item from losers who are half awake. We were there for hours but the real reason I'm writing this is because they tried to sell me a water logged unit. Water had been pouring into the trailer from the storm the day before. It was dripping out of the bottom of the sealed floor. If you know anything about trailer is ( don't get the inside wet ) it creates mold and compromises the structure. If only you had the time to really understand what I've been going since October of last year. Brand new 2022. so many problems they couldn't even repair. Traded it back in and they depreciated it over 20,000.00 dollars. So in order to get another one of same value I had to pay over 20,000.00. This is a 0-star review for FunTown RV in Cleburne. We had the worst experience with them and our brand new fifth wheel. We purchased a 2023 East to West Ahara in May of 2023. In July we started experiencing horrible water leaks from everywhere. Seeping down the walls, coming out of the light switches, sweating under the belly, etc. and had no idea what was causing it. This had in turn caused damage to the trim pieces, bowing of wood, rust on hinges, mold under belly, etc. We called FunTown RV to get in for warranty work. My husband drained the tanks, and we packed up to head to the service center in Cleburne. They had it for one-two weeks and we received a call from a service assistant saying we had overflowed both black tanks because our hose was hooked up to the black tank when it arrived, and that warranty would not cover it. (Let me just say, my husband has dealt with campers for over 10 years and has never overflowed the tanks. The hose was hooked up from when he drained them to take the camper in). Immediately my husband asked to speak to the manager, Kent Ferguson, in which it took days to get ahold of, and the phone call ended in Kent blaming us, rudely. We picked up our camper in between this time. We then emailed Kayla Heskett to get proof of such accusation in which it took additional days, and they sent pictures of the hoses (which we already knew about) and pictures of "toilet paper" under the stairs. My husband then crawled under the stairs and came to find the caulking that they were calling "toilet paper." He then climbed on the roof to check tank vents and there was no water residue at all. We sent this proof to Brooke McCommas (after Kayla would no longer speak to us) and got no response. We called Kent and received no response as well. After a week with no answer, we called the main office and spoke to Mike McMillan and Kevin Thomas. They said to send all documentation to them, and they would get with the service center. After a week of not hearing back, we called again and got nowhere. We tried for a month to deal with FunTown, and it was the absolute worst customer service experience. They do not stand behind their rvs and do not want to work with the customer to solve any problems, rather play blame. We put an insurance claim in after everything we dealt with, got a mechanic and insurance company representative to look at the damage and both agreed that the black tanks had nothing to do with the water damage. We will never take any of our business to FunTown going forward, nor will we ever recommend them to anyone. read more
