What should be an efficient way to travel around Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg is actually the biggest pain in transportation! It took us 2.5 hours to go from the Gatlinburg Welcome Center to the Pigeon Forge Walmart stop on a Tuesday afternoon with minimal traffic! The issue is the inconsistency with the timing of the trolley and the drivers having to sit and wait at stops to ensure the trolleys are not too close to each other's pick up. In theory this makes sense, but in reality the trolleys are not on time and significantly delayed anyway. The App the recommend using is not user friendly. While an all day pass is $3, save your money and drive to the Gatlinburg welcome center and take the free bus into town. The drivers were very friendly. read more

This trolley stops a lot of touristy places. There are maps but if you ask the drivers, they are good about answering questions respectfully. Especially when transferring from pigeon forge to Gatlinburg. At the old mill stop (pigeon forge) they have a office where you can purchase a wristband for $3 for all day rides. You can also park there for free. Exact change is needed if you are paying as you go. It's either $1 or .50 depending where you go It's a great way to get around! read more

The trolley is a great concept. But in practice, this one suffers. Their map says the North Parkway trolley runs every 20 minutes. We've been waiting nearly an hour and have not seen hide nor hair of a trolley. And traffic is flowing smoothly. I think there must be one trolley running the entire North Parkway route. It does no good to say you have 40 vehicles if none of them are in service. This is highly inefficient, and I feel like I'm wasting half my day sitting here. Pigeon Forge traffic and parking isn't so bad that I'd do this again. The all day pass was a waste of money. EDITED TO ADD: After we'd been waiting over an hour and a half, my husband walked the mile plus back to the trolley station where our car was parked. He made that walk, picked up our car, and drove back to pick the rest of our family up, and the trolley still hadn't made it to the stop. I do not recommend the trolley. There was a huge delay with the trolley ride to go into Gaithersburg that was NOT communicated to the passengers They should have let people know so that they could have made the decision prior to riding whether they wanted to wait or make alternate arrangements. Fantastic value. $3 for an all day pass. We saved a ton of money avoiding the Dolly wood parking fees ($20/day) by using the trolley. The ride from Patriot Park to Dolly wood is less than 10 minutes. Parking at Patriot park is FREE! The drivers told us local trivia during the short ride. It dropped us right at the front gate for Dollywood. Great for anyone including people with limited mobility as the bus drops down to curb height making it dead easy to get onboard with a wheelchair or stroller. read more

[A fact they misrepresented in their Christmas festival information] I know my wife and daughter had a great view, but I was fighting traffic all night for them. I really would not have minded paying for the service so I might have enjoyed it as well. Next year I'm planning on heading south and enjoying Bellengrath Gardens south of Mobile AL. Not a fun time trolley. The driver who picked us up at the KOA stop was very rude. I got in and asked if this was the trolley to go to Dollywood and he replied "sure". Then starts shouting at me about "where are your tokens" and "didn't you get them at the campground" etc. I said to him my husband is walking up now so we can ask him. The driver says he doesn't have time to wait. At this point I'm just over this guy so I get off and tell him we will catch the next one. But he doesn't leave. So we end up riding the grumpy train. Then on our way home from Dollywood that night the driver didn't drop us at the pick up spot but stopped across the very busy street so we had to cross it with our 6 year old at night. Do NOT use the trolley! To get from Camp Riverslanding to the Island took over an hour and a half! We missed the South bus at the campground about 2:45 PM on Friday July 5. We waited for the next bus, hopped on and rode to the Old Mill area where we waited (no shopping) for the very next North bus to take us to the Island. Hopped on that trolley and arrived at the Island at 4:20! The return trip at 8pm was even longer. Here is the scoop! The economy must be doing great as reported because the Trolley company can't find drivers! So they only have 3 buses running and the North route takes over two hours. The routes are a bit crazy too. The North route and the South route have a huge overlap. (So you ride south to the station where you catch the next bus and guess what? Instead of continuing south, it heads north again, than west than back south again over the same road stopping at the same stops if people are waiting or need to get off!). And there are several side loops that add extra time. We spent more time on the Trolley and waiting for the Trolley than riding it! And don't sit at the back of the trolley- no AC!! Plus the wooden benches are cute for the first half hour... then they become quite uncomfortable on the sitbones- bring a pillow but only if you have no other means of transportation. The drivers were cheerful, friendly and drove properly. read more

Tra la la la la la, la la Trolley. Range of Service: 5 out of 5 The trolley service offers a very good range of service. The trolley goes all the way north to the Courthouse on Bruce Street in Sevierville, and goes as far south as the Gatlinburg Welcome Center. The meat of the service, however - is probably going to be right there on the Pigeon Forge Parkway. Split between a north route and a south route, the "hub" for all of the lines is at Patriot Park in the Old Mill District. To sweeten the deal, there is a route that goes just to Dollywood and Splash Country. If you want to bypass the parkway and end up close to Walden's Landing, I would personally suggest the Wear's Valley route. In a recent trip to the area, I got to know all of the lines very well due to a slight motorcycle mishap that left me transportation-less, except for said trolley service. Look for the little signs and shelters with the happy bear on them. Price: 5 out of 5 One way fares are 50 cents for all routes except for the Galtinburg route, which is 75 cents. Fare is payable via cash only. The drivers do not make change. I'm not sure if they offer a daily or multi-day pass. Customer Service of Drivers: 5 out of 5 The drivers are all nice, and the ones I encountered were all in their late 50s or early 60s. They drive carefully, and make sure that all customers have boarded or alighted before continuing on their route. I observed one of the drivers very nicely and patiently helping a customer in a wheelchair. If you just tell them where you want to go ahead of time, they will make sure that you know without a shadow of a doubt when your stop comes up. Honestly - each driver that I encountered on the Dollywood, North Pkway, South Pkway, Wears Valley, and Courthouse Route was courteous, professional, and friendly. Condition of Trolleys: 5 out of 5 All of the trolleys were very clean. The seats in the "trolleys" are wooden benches and are not too comfortable for long periods of time, but that should not discourage you from using the system. The seats in the large converted passenger vans are fabric and more comfortable. Seemingly, all of the vehicles are accessible, but I would double check with the company if you have a specific request or route in mind. Frequency of Service: 4 out of 5, dependent on route If you stay on the parkway, you'll have no problem, because the trolleys run every 15 minutes or so. If you have to make your way to one of the resorts on the courthouse route, I think that the trolley frequency becomes less frequent as the night wears on. The trolley stops are easy to spot with the little bear signs on them, and there are also a large number of shelters that clearly say, "Fun Time Trolley". Our experience with the Fun Time Trolley is limited to the service between Patriot Park (the Old Mill area) and Dollywood. So as far as that goes, there's absolutely nothing to complain about. First of all, it costs 50 cents per person. What? That's ridiculous. Seems like it costs $12 or so to park at Dollywood. That's not outrageous, but the trolley wins that one. The real reason I opted for the trolley is that it's a quick trip and it drops you off right by the Dollywood entrance. If you park at Dollywood, you still have a tram ride or a long walk in your future. It just seemed much more convenient to use the trolley. Even on what turned out to be a busy Saturday, there were ample parking spots at Patriot Park. Plus the Fun Time Trolley just has that old school charm that's hard to pass up. read more

The traffic to Dollywood can be horrendous so the Fun Time Trolley makes sure that you get there without having to worry about the traffic. As with anything it can be a little confusing to figure out at first but once you get it the ride is very relaxing. I found the drivers to be very helpful and friendly. On my trip back from the park my wallet fell out of my purse when I dropped it. It must have slid under a seat as I did not notice that it had fallen out. The next day, I got a call from a very nice man named Greg Harrison informing that they had found my wallet. I am from California and was visiting relatives in Kentucky so this meant a 3 hr. trip back to get it. Once I got to the Fun Time Trolley office, they gave me my wallet. All my money, cards and checks were still there. That was an awesome experience and added to my positive memories of my time in Tennessee. read more

The free parking at Patriot Park their hub fills up quickly, however there was a guy selling parking on his lawn across the street for $5, which puts you back at the cost of parking at Dollywood, so maybe plan on getting there early. The guy had a full lawn when we got back, so a lot if people took him up on that offer. I guess it's still an easier trip back to Parkway. with trolley stops everywhere there is no need to drive much. sometimes it takes longer because of traffic to get on a trolley. but who can beat 50 cents to get somewhere! Take the trolley to patriot park and then catch another to dollywood or the splash country for another 50 cents. leave your vehicle at your hotel and just sit back! if you are planning using the trolley a lot, i believe you can purchase passes. but you would have to inquire about that at the main station in patriot park. it may be a money saver for a larger family doing lots of activites. read more

After sending everyone on there way. They thought I was staying in...lol. I hopped trolleys went all over Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg so I could enjoy things without the grandchildren. No hassle to find parking and cheaper than gas the SUV would use in the Gatlinburg snail pace traffic. And I used my phone to text and let family know where I was so they didn't worry about me. I went back to Bubba Gumps for the Cajun shrimp.They were proud I had showed independence and got to go to "The Hollar" and sampled moonshine and didn't have to drive afterwords. Unorganized mess. Parked at Patriot Park to take the trolley to Dollywood. The lot was full but I pulled in a spot someone else had vacated that wasn't a marked spot. Missed the first trolley because there are no signs or people to explain that they don't make change. Returned five hours later to find an $83 parking ticket. Awful service especially during any conventions that may be happening during your stay at Dollywood here in Piegon Forge Tennessee my wife and I were refused to be allowed on buses that were headed in the direction of our Hotel. And on multiple occasions waited two hours before a trolly would even arrive to take us to our destination and some operators were rude and not helpful with reasonable questions we had about attractions or restaurants we asked about . And other issues they should address is operating more than a handful of trollies my wife and I counted each time we were at the trolly station there were trollies just parked and it would be 7 or more just sitting not being used and it may have helped with the long waiting issues of multiple people and the last is offering a comfortable seating . But if it's not improved the trolly rides will be avoided like the plague when we vaction next time read more

To start they fail to mention when you by the all day pass it wont get you to gatlinberg and while hearing this after they let me buy the pass they would not give me a refund even though i just gave them excact cash for the passes. That being said who needs to be trollied around pigeon forge there is parking at every store, so if u need a pass to gatlinburg drive to their welcome center give 50cents a person and catch their trolly. read more
