Took the moonshine and wine tour! It was such a great time!! We all laughed and joked. Tried a ton of moonshine, some amazing wines, and even some hard ciders! Our whole tour had an absolute blast. We took snacks on the bus for during the drives between to help soak up some alcohol. It also helped cleanse the palate. Would definitely consider doing this again. Probably the best tour we have ever been on. The driver was a wealth of knowledge about the Smoky Mountains, the history of early settlers, stories of how the national park came to be and of buildings we visited. Tennessee Mountain Tours is above every other tour company we have used before. I highly recommend booking their tours. read more

I sent an inquiry with number of people in my group and mentioned we had a 2yr old. I guess they get so much business that they didn't give a shit if they got mine. They couldn't recommend an appropriate tour or quote a price for a private tour. (Which you can see from the chain of e-mails that they posted as a response to my review) It took a second e-mail before the "sales" person fessed up to not having an appropriate tour for a 2year old, to not doing custom tours because they clearly do not want my money, and that they charge a private tour as a fully booked tour but again no price quote. They then thanked me for my interest to complete their f' you. An employee followed up with a bad review of my company stating I should be fired. I think that's pretty disgusting. He has no knowledge of me or my company other than a handful of e-mails I sent trying to purchase a private tour for which I was never given a price. I hope you read the e-mail chain that they posted and look at their google review of my employer, so you know that they may use your personal information submited for a quote or to purchase tickets to troll you. Also please note that it took me saying that I didn't want to be their customer for them to FINALLY explain that for a private tour we would have to buy 13 full price regular tickets. All of this could have been avoided with a response of the total price as asked for the different tours provided. read more

While visiting Gatlinburg we booked the Cades Coves tour pick up was at their office in Pigeon forge, our meeting time was initially 9am they ended up rescheduling it for an hour early no biggie, when we arrived at the office it was closed odd but with COVID going on they had a sign up telling u to call to confirm, our guy was a little late to arrive but we made it & we were on our way. Tour guide was nice, really knew his history on the area on the drive to & from he stopped at different places & explain everything. Decent tour took about 5 hours in a comfy cool bus, u get to see really great scenery & if u are lucky u get to see some bears on your drive which we did .. Nice tour to take we enjoyed it. read more

We loved it did this in a group of 4 loved it my husband is usually one who almost never gets buzzed when we drink and he's a bigger guy but he was impressed that every location they served you just enough to get you buzzed but by the time we got to the next location he came off that buzz. I'm a light weight and wish I would have packed a couple waters. None of the locations had water just out sitting for you to serve yourself but we are from Ohio and most local wine/breweries have serve yourself water stations so I assumed these locations would to fault was my own. Really enjoyed our afternoon of drinking and fun. Some of the negative reviews are kind of dumb (why would you think you could bring a toddler on this tour?). Yes, tastings are free at most of the wineries and distilleries in town, but you're paying to get to them all safely (and without the hassle of trying to park) and hit them all in the same day. And I witnessed firsthand that we got more options to sample than people who just came in off the street. It sounds like there used to be an issue with one winery not giving full samples, but they are no longer a stop on the tour. We hit around 9 places: -Smith distillery. We liked this place enough that we returned later in the week. Really great service. The sweet tea flavor was a favorite. -Applewood Farm (two stops with wine and cider). I preferred the cider, actually, and it was nice to try something different. The cider slushies were delicious. Time didn't allow us to return her, but if we stay in Pigeon Forge again, I'd like to explore the Farm a little bit more. -Most of the other wineries blurred together, which isn't a complaint. They served really similar wines and even had similar decor. Most specialize in sweet wines, which isn't normally my thing. Tasting them is still fun, though. We bought a couple of bottles along the way. -Old Forge Distillery. We missed the first half of the tour, but there were still a lot of samples, and we came back on our last day, did another tour, and bought some bottles. Oatmeal cookie and elderflower were two favorites. -Mill Bridge Winery. This was my favorite of the wineries. First, it was really pretty inside. The woman who led our tasting was very knowledgeable, and the range of wines was more unique. We bought a bottle of Indian Summer. -Tennessee Moonshine Company (with an attached winery for tasting). Maybe my least favorite of the distilleries, but it was still pretty good and had some unique flavors. -Junction 35. This place was way more modern than the other spots, and it was a good ending to the tour. We wound up coming back here, too. We enjoyed getting to know the other people on the tour. I think there were 22 of us total, which was a decent number. The bus was pretty hot/cramped, but I think that should be a given. We weren't on it for more than 15 minutes at a time, so it wasn't a big deal. I would definitely suggest this tour to other adults looking for a fun way to spend a few hours. read more

We did the moon shine and winery tour! Matt was our tour guide and gave us a great time!! Takes a lot of patients to deal with a group of drunk people and he did not disappoint! We went to 4 wineries and 4 distilleries. On the bus there was crackers and water that was provided by the tour company. Talk about going above and beyond !! I came to the meeting location on time, but had a hard time finding the tour bus. Because I had book the tour on Viator, I arrived early and was at the right location. But I had grown suspicious when it was two minutes before 9:00 and the bus which was suppose depart at that time was not anywhere in sight. So I called my local contact and he told me he was waiting for me. I told him that I was at the right location but he said I am on top of the hill. So I took my car and drove further up the hill thinking that there was another pl but it was a steep meandering continuous uphill road, and by this time it was two past 9:00 and was getting anxious. My local contact told me and said he will be waiting for me by the trolley stop at the Gatlinburg Welcome Center. Whew he did wait and I was about to go on a memorable tour ! Talk about a memorable tour it was. My prodigious tour guide was an authentic local named Dustin who lived his whole life in the Smokie region. Not a transient or an ex local who became a big shot stockbroker in NYC who was yearning to go back home. Of course Dustin did an excellent job on describing his own life, history, natural landscape, and local attractions relating to Gatlinburg and surrounding areas. The most memorable part of the tour was when we made a stop to a cemetery next to the Pigeon River. This was where he explained the lifestyle of many of its early ancestors. Contrary to popular beliefs, we would think especially by today's standard that people in the big cities live longer and healthier due to large number of advanced health facilities. However, in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century it were the people in the big cities that were dying young and had major health issues. The reason were high densities, overpopulation, rats and perhaps unsanitzed food which cause outbreaks of diseases like cholera, and bubonic plague. In East Tennessee's rural mountain communities, there were a whole lot of space, people had more fresher and cleaner air, and all the food at that time were all grown and grown organically. If you were to look at some of the gravestones some lived over 100 very unusual for its time. He also showed tourists the more off the beaten path side of Gatlinburg and not what it has grown to be "aka Jersey Shore in The Smokies". In the last part of the tour he drove us through the venerable art community of Gatlinburg. He gave names of and suggested visitors to try local restaurants, and shops as well. Me and my friend have never visited Tennessee. So we decided to do something different and sign up for a wine tour through Tennessee Mountain Tours. I'm so very glad we did! Terry, our guide and driver, was a congenial soul from the very beginning and made our day fantastic. She was funny and down-to-earth and gave us plenty of historical background about the area and its people. She was patient in waiting for stragglers in the group and even stayed with us long after the tour was over to treat us to other stops. Her interaction with our group enhanced our enjoyment of the tour as she delivered jokes and introduced us to her friends at the tastings. Everybody became family and we had a joyous time laughing all the way! The tour became the highlight of our trip to Tennessee and we created wonderful friends and memories.
