This was our first family camping trip. We had high hopes going into it. When we got there it was easy to check in and the staff was very friendly. I will just list out the pros and cons. Our spot was premium tent site 102. Pros: bathrooms are nice and clean Has a swimming pool and tube rental for the river Farm with animals Right on the river Hay rides and rides to drop you off to tube down as many times as you want. Staff was friendly. Convenient to mountains and Cades Cove Cons: they listed our area as a premium tent site with electric water and sewer. We were sandwiched in between several rvs and did not have a view of anything but rvs. The campsites are very close together and narrow. Feels crowded in your own space The place to put the tent was jagged gravel rocks no grass. There was a metal tent stake left in the ground that ended up poking a hole in our air mattress. Bc we were on rocks this pushed us to go home and sleep for the night as we are local. The pool is nice but the pool area is in the middle of a field and has absolutely no shade or bathroom close by. The four chairs they had were run down and one broken. This is not ideal for having kids that may need to use the potty or need some shade for a min. No grills only fire pits If I could suggest anything to the owners it would be the following Add pictures of each campsite so that when someone is going to book they know exactly what their site looks like and know what to expect. This would help to book a better spot for your needs. Add a porta potty or bathroom closer to the pool. Also add some shade and chairs. Double check the sites before check in. Had that stake been pulled up before we arrived it wouldn't have damaged our air mattress resulting in us having to leave for the night and come back. Add charcoal grills for cooking. read more

At my arrival, the office mistakenly saved my debit card information under the wrong customer file and charged my card. When I brought this to their attention, I was assured that my card information would be removed from the incorrect account and that the issue had been resolved. Despite those assurances, my debit card was charged again. This second charge occurred after I had already notified the staff of the mistake and after I was specifically told that my card information would be deleted. As a result, I spent a significant portion of my vacation dealing with a problem that should never have happened in the first place. Not only did these errors create financial stress and inconvenience, but they also ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation. I trusted your staff to correct the mistake after it was first reported, and unfortunately that trust was misplaced when my card was charged again. I believe it is unreasonable for me to bear the consequences of repeated errors made by the office, particularly after I had notified you of the problem and received assurances that it had been corrected. For these reasons, I respectfully requested a refund and I was denied and told that it was my banks fault for letting the transactions to occur. They won't take accountability and refuse to work with me. This was my debit card that was charged and over $400 and was on hold for a total of 8 days. My bank cancelled my card. Just one headache after another because of all of this. I feel as though they should've accommodated me seeing how their actions and failure to pay attention caused all of this. read more

We reserved site 104 via phone for 8/17 to 8/23/26 and they took a deposit of $82.50 on our credit card. I called back today on 4/21/26 and canceled the reservation. IThe man i spoke with said I would get a gift card for the deposit. When I requested a refund, since I was canceling almost 4 months in advance, he said it was their policy to only give gift cards that could be used for camping there or in their store. read more

Great little campground, but their deposit refund pokicy sucks. we were to arrive on tuesday for 3 nites. we were informed on sat the water wouöd be turned off on the riverfront site we reserved. They offered a non river site but that would have been away from our kids who also had reservations. THAT was not the full hookup site we reserved. we cancelled on sat. I will not stay there again. There are other great campgrounds in Townsend without such a poklicy! read more

The campground was clean and friendly and surprisingly quiet considering how full it was. The sites are very tight for bigger rigs and the sites are very close together. We stayed multiple days and we had to cut our trip short by two days. We checked out early and spoke with a very friendly staff member about refunding the two days we were not able to stay. She informed us that the manager was not there and that she would let her know when she came in and she could refund the two nights. We received a call later from the employee and she told us the manager said she would not be able to refund us and if we wanted to call her she would give us her number and her name was Bunny. We gave her call and explained our situation and she said that unless someone had died or had to go to the hospital they didn't issue refunds. I explained without giving too much perosnal details that we had to leave due to some circumstances and she said she would issue us a voucher for one night if we liked. Probably would have stayed there again with our smaller camper and our not fifth wheel and recommended to friends as well but it came across to us that once they had our money it was our loss. read more

This was the perfect campground! They had free crafts each day and a wagon ride on the weekend to meet the farm animals. Our campsite backed up to the sheep and had gorgeous mountain views. My son loved riding his bike and everyone was very friendly. Water access was great for small kids. We can't wait to go back. read more

Perfect location for our 4th of July family reunion! On the creek, with private cabins available. It was hot so the pool hit the spot in the afternoon. Short walk to watch The City of Townsend's firework show and parade. Newly renovated bathrooms and showers are available. Tube rentals and a tractor shuttle to take you up the creek are available at the office. Basketball court and playground was packed. The kids made great friends. 5 min drive to Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. read more

The smallest campsite I've ever seen.. rolled up for 4th of July after booking this spot over a year ago and we were floored. Neighboring site had their black water dump about 5 feet from our front steps. Fire ring was about 2 feet from the picnic table and the entire campground was this way. We ended up finding a cancellation at the nearby KOA and had a much better set up. Still no word on a refund by Little River. Disappointing. read more

Needed a spot to tent camp for a couple nights in early April. The bathrooms and showers were fair and comparable to most campgrounds I've stayed in as a tent camper. Had a nice spot on a beautiful river. Would stay here again. read more

I was very upset with my site. I called and explained the size of my camper. I could put the awnings out because the site was so small and trees. My family had four sites and they were all the same way. We had to rent another site to put up our ez ups so that we could have somewhere to cook and sit around in chairs. The bathrooms were not kept clean. Not enough gravel on sites or road to help with the cleanliness of walking. My children and other campers were swimming and cane up from the river and the kids jumped off the tree that is leaning over the river. Never walked in anyone's site. The tent camper that was closest to that tree came out and starting cursing at my kids and the other kids, saying they were on the site that he rented. That was a complete lie because my two brothers were right there in the water and seen the whole thing and heard him. Brothers told him he would not curse at those kids then the man wanted to argue. They all left the area and then your camp post came to our site with an attitude while we were in the water and said we could not go back to the tree because that man rented that whole area. We tried to explain and he did not want to hear it. He got a worse attitude so my brothers did too. I have been going to the mountains camping for 53 years and have never been told that we could not enjoy the whole river. And then be told that anyone could come to the area where we were at. That was so disrespectful and you had four new campers this year and lost four campers this year. And other family had five sites too. You are not under new management as your sign says. And this will be put on FB and yelp and anything My family can find to let people know how we were treated at your campground. Very dissatisfied. This campground was a lifesaver for our group of 12 (4 dads and 8 girls). Spent the previous night at Abrams Creek in the park and had to leave because it had changed from a first come first serve site to online reservations. Campground attendants were very accommodating and friendly. Several tent and RV sites directly on the Little River which was shallow enough for the kids to swim in. Clean restrooms and showers. Would definitely stay here again. read more

I would NOT recommend staying here! The bathrooms were disgusting and the staff was very rude! We tried to get 3 elec sites for our group. But they didn't have enough so we had to take a primitive site for one even though there looked to be plenty of open sites. The sites are super close together. Then the staff wanted to charge us for "theft of services" because we piggy backed some electrical to charge our phones off our friends elec site! We tried more than once to get an elec site! We were treated horribly every time we went into the office. Grossly overpriced too! There are plenty of other campgrounds close by to stay in! Could be a beautiful site if run by courteous folks. Great little campground, everyone was kind. Only thing I could think of is the campsites need new gravel, and the front desk (two ladies) weren't very hospitable (worked on 10/19/18)..seemed cranky like they'd rather be somewhere else. read more
