    Black Garlic Oil Ramen

Absolutely a must go when in Abilene. The freshly made noodles were out of this world in my Black Garlic Oil Ramen. I will be back!

Pork fried rice. Huge portion. Can be shared between 2 individuals.

It's a bit far away from the downtown area but this place has the best noodles I've had in a while! The Fried rice was on point and the Lo Mein noodles packed flavor in every bite. Definitely will come back for more! The ambience felt great with a good selection of music as well.

Upon entering the background music is really nice good atmosphere. We were seated immediately since it was only 2 of us. Our waitress was great but the other waitress wasn't very friendly. We order hot tea to drink, plus a Diet Pepsi and a beer. We also order potstickers (6) for an appetizer. My wife and I had the Hell Ramen. Food came out really quick with good flavor. Really good portions for the ramen. Over all a good experience. Nothing to rave about but I would eat here again.

The service was great and the food was spot on for flavors. I miss my Chinese food and when I saw the beef roll, I immediately wanted to try it and it was so delicious

Was craving for soup for dinner and i found this place on yelp, near the hotel we stayed at. You get inside, nice, clean and great ambiance. Its nice that you can actually see them cooking from the kitchen. Hubs had the Hell Ramen and he loveddd it. He said it was spicy and really good. I loved my chicken noodle soup, i didnt wanna eat too much since we had heavy meal at lunch. So this was just perfect. It was homemade chicken noodle soup, the seasoning was just right. And i had some to-go since they serve pretty good size. My son had popcorn chicken and fries. This place was a great find. Highly recommended.

Fun Noodle is fine. We spent $98 for four people. We order sushi, rice, and noodles. The noodles are not traditional; instead, they are more like spaghetti (thick and a little overcooked). I was not impressed, but for the sake of trying new places, it is okay. The employees are very attentive and friendly. I will return to this place to try something different; I give the benefit of the doubt this time.

Horrible, beautiful presentation. Bad execution on flavor. Expansing and not worth it. Service was alright just didn't taste good enough

I love going to Fun Noodle Bar! The staff is amazing and so is the food! Each of the different soups are great and unique. The Chasu buns are to die for! We got the dragon roll the other day and the sushi maker had fun with our platter. It was great! There isn't anything I've tried so far that I haven't enjoyed. It's a great place with a great atmosphere. You have GOT to try the chive pancakes. The are amazing!

    Start with octopus balls!

New to Abilene, this is their 5th day open. We came for lunch. Ordering was a bit slow, but they were busy. We started with the octopus balls and the pork and Chinese cabbage bao. Side note, Tommy never tries anything new, but we talked him into this. The pork bao was very good, but the octopus balls were the clear winner! Delicious, and even Tommy liked them! Next, spring rolls and a California roll. Spring rolls were delicious and the sushi was very good. Entree time. I'm not a fan of chicken fried rice, but Rachelle's really was good! I'm impressed. Tommy got roasted noodle ramen with shrimp. Loved it! He even liked the bok choy. I, of course, got the Hell Ramen. You could see the chili flakes and chili oil floating on top. I'm excited! Yes, it was pretty hot, but so good! This place is an absolute winner. We'll be back as soon as possible!

Love this place!!!! The service is good & the food comes out super fast. As well as being delicious!! We shared a bunch of stuff & we loved it all! It was my cousin's first time having sushi & ramen & she's hooked now!!! We had the pan fried bao with pork & cabbage, takoyaki, shrimp tempura roll, spicy salmon roll & tuna & avocado roll to start. Then we shared the pan fried sliced noodles with shrimp & my cousin had the tonkatsu ramen with chashu pork. We live an hour away but like to come to Abilene to shop & eat, & now this will be our new spot! I am SO HYPE THIS PLACE IS HERE!!! PLEASE GO TRY IT!!!!

Fresh steam dumpling straight from the kitchen
    Jessie N.

Over all the food here is pretty good and clean, my bf ordered a stir fried beed noodle, i have black ramen noodle. We also ordered the steam dumpling and the dumpling with soup inside as appetizers. This place impressed me by the taste, its perfect, not too oily, not too salty like other Chinese restaurants. All the noodle and dumplings are fresh and handmade from the kitchen. Definitely come back to try more dishes

So I came here for some ramen....tonkatsu ramen in particular…read more The server is friendly and I got to witness the chef hand pulling the noodles. So I order my tonkatsu ramen. I got my bowl and the broth looked a little bit like it was weak and not concentrated enough...I figured maybe it's a little bit weaker flavor. I dip my little ladle spoon and take a sip....that looked like weak tonkatsu, but the flavor was something other than tonkatsu. I don't know what it was. The noodles were cooked appropriately, but the ajitama was not seasoned and it was not soft boiled, it was hard boiled. Okay, try out the meat. The meat was a little bit on the tough side and it did not have the flavor of chashu pork. I have had tonkatsu ramen at many different places through California. Even Missouri has a stellar tonkatsu ramen shop. Unfortunately this place does not leave me satisfied. I am afraid I can not give it a 3 star rating due to the fact that tonkatsu is unrecognizable as tonkatsu in relation to flavor. Was the flavor good? Not really. My recommendation would be to remove tonkatsu as an option on the menu altogether because although it looks like tonkatsu, it does not have anything in it that tastes like a tonkatsu ramen. The 2 stars is for decent noodles and I didn't get sick off the food.

As a Los Angeles native visiting Abilene TX for the holidays, I was very surprised by this place!…read moreThe food is good! I highly recommend the sushi. I know what you're thinking, sushi in land locked Texas? but the food was fresh and tasty. The service was very good. Amazing charming staff that care about making your experience great and memorable. The ambiance is also very good. High end and trendy. Highly recommend the place for the area!

A Longtime Customer Completely Let Down…read more I've been eating sushi for over 30 years, and Masa Bistro & Sushi Bar used to be one of our favorite spots for birthdays, family dinners, and gatherings with friends. After our most recent visit? We won't be coming back. I ordered a shrimp tempura roll--something I've had countless times at restaurants across the country. What arrived was covered in eel sauce and stuffed with lettuce. I politely asked the waitress if I could get it remade without the extras. She was kind and put in the request. Then she came back and said the manager told her "the description for the shrimp tempura roll is on the Roll page." The problem? I ordered it from the Lunch Specials menu, which has no description at all. So unless I had read the Roll page in advance, I was just supposed to guess it would be a totally different version. Instead of fixing it, the manager told her I'd have to pay full price for a second roll--plus an extra dollar just to get spicy mayo. What should have been a simple, reasonable request turned into nickel-and-diming and a complete lack of hospitality. Then came the food: * The miso soup tasted like brown aquarium water--seriously. Not savory or warm, just murky and fishy, like the smell of a dirty fish tank. * My daughter ordered the Japanese ramen, which her dad has had many times before at this same restaurant. It normally came with the typical wiggly ramen noodles. This time? Thick spaghetti noodles that tasted like plastic. The broth was equally awful--exactly how an old aquarium smells. * The Chicken Pad Thai was the one bright spot. Delicious as always and the only dish we finished. And to top it off: when we placed our order, I told the waitress we were celebrating a birthday. She got excited and offered us the Birthday Fried Banana Dessert--which we accepted. My daughter was excited about it. But guess what? It never came. Not a word, not an apology, not a check-in. We've celebrated so many birthdays and special moments at Masa over the years, but after this experience--between the dismissive management, disappointing food, and forgotten birthday--we're completely done. We took the leftovers home and fed them to our chickens because I refused to waste $70+ on trash. So congratulations, Masa: my chickens got the most expensive meal of their life . Update: 8-5-25: My friend somehow got the food report from the Food Inspectors that just happened 6-23-2025 *need dates on defrosted food *no soap at bar *missing dates on food Check the pics for more of the report
