I ordered Pan Fried Noodles. After all, this is a noodle bar, is it not? I was expecting some nice thick charred noodles, with equally charred veg and some version of yummy brown sauce. Maybe a little spicy kick, but I hoped not too much. What I got was a SMALL delivery dish of brown glop that was so strong with garlic it would have kept Dracula at bay from 100 miles. No joke, the noodles were thick alright (good), and mostly stuck together in a glob I had to pull apart with some effort (bad). There were a few pieces of scraggly looking meat in there, at least I could tell the shrimps apart from the other meat. And the veg was all bean sprouts with a few slices of onion. As I said, it was a small portion. For the reviews saying they got plenty of food, even leftovers, this was not the case today. I also ordered egg rolls. Beef. The upside is I received three, not just two. Sadly, they were cold and quite oily. When something deep fried is oily, it is because it was fried in oil that wasn't up to temperature. These were a complete miss. The delivery service (Door Dash) was timely, friendly, and very courteous. No complaints for them. I ordered to-go. I got chicken chow-mein, pork bao, and the octopus balls. The chow mein was sooooooo good!! I got one order to spilt with my toddler and my toddler inhaled it all! It had such good flavor and the noodles tasted so fresh. The bao turned out to be my main meal and I'm so glad I ordered it. It was sooo good and the sauce just makes the dish even more yummy! The sauce has a hint of spice but nothing to overpowering. I will definitely be returning again! Also, for my COVID people, I am very pleased with the safety measures the restaurant has in place. Such an unexpected gem. On a road trip and stopped in Abilene for the night. We thought our food choices would be limited to burgers and barbecue, but Yelp alerted us to this delectable treasure. We ordered takeout. Service was fast and friendly. The food was hot and rivaled Asian restaurants in Houston's Asia town. The beef and onion bao were soft and tasty. The takoyaki was crispy on the outside and had a melt in your mouth core. Green onion pancakes were tasty and just the right amount of greasy. I'm spoiled before I even start writing this, my wife is from Thailand and ran her own restaurant before I met her for 11 years and is master of her craft. For me this place offers to many okay dishes and not single exceptional dishes. The service was fine nothing remarkable about it. The window into the noodle crafting is a nice touch and a modern twist on how are good is created and something I enjoyed. Unfortunately this place has so much potential but no direction on how reach it, pretending to be an expert in all of Asian cuisine is a fool's errand.
