I'm a curmudgeon. I generally despise DJs since they're usually too loud, don't read the room, and think that they are the most important thing at the event. Not so with Loren Gent of Fun Fun Fun DJs. He was fantastic. We had a convention banquet for ~400 mostly out-of-town guests (me included) and our host had hired Loren. During the banquet, replete with announcements, awards, recognitions and so on, Loren kept up a steady supply of background, intros, outros, and bumper music throughout the banquet and managed to never overpower the event speakers. When the dinner had ended and the banquet switched over from dinner to dancing, Loren cranked up music and started the party by getting out on the dance floor and singing. This sounds horrible, but it was in fact fantastic -- Loren has a great voice! He led the dancing, spun a great selection of tunes, and kept the party going. His sound system was high quality and his volume was perfect -- the music was good and loud but you could hold a conversation with someone without saying "What??" every sentence. Loren is undoubtedly the best DJ around. Just recently as he was doing another school event for my son's school, I realized Loren is like part of the family. I've know him almost 9 years. He's done so many birthday milestones for our family as well as graduations, parties, etc. His prices are so reasonable, yet he gives you the performance of someone you would think you'd have to pay top dollar for and if his prices were top dollar, he'd still be worth it. Loren was the DJ at our wedding 28 yrs ago today. We were just watching our wedding video and realize why our friends still say our wedding was the most fun one they have ever attended. Loren really knows how to work a crowd and really fill it with personal touches and lots of energy. My wife and I were just remembering that from the first dance until the last, we never left the dance floor and there was always a crowd out there with us. I hired them many years ago for my daughters communion and knew I'd want them again for her Graduation. We had a Harry Potter celebration at the University Club of Chicago and Loren made it wonderful! He had so many ideas, put together the video with the chosen songs and it was the best. Fun Fun DJ did a fantastic job for my Wife's 40th surprise party. Loren was an absolute professional and kept the party going. He did such a great job that I lost track of time and didn't realize how late it was. His experience with kids at parties was amazing. I have hired Loren from Fun Fun Fun DJs since 2009, and I can't say enough about his services. I work in a 55+ community and let me tell you, he gets the people out on the dance floor and keeps them there all night. He plays such a wide variety of music and knows how to read the crowd to keep them going. He even gets those who don't dance engaged in the fun. Loren was the best DJ I've ever experienced and any venue! I was at Lago Vista'd New Years party. The ages went from 55 to 90 years old and Loren did a phenomenal job with all age groups. He celebrated all monumental anniversaries in special occasions he even got out and taught line dancing moves to anyone who didn't know how.
