Hubby and daughter love to play games here. My daughter was so lucky that she won a huge stuffed animal from a huge crane game. They are so lucky to win at games. The inside was clean and there were two workers I saw working at the counter. You need a membership card here to play. Once your money runs out, you can reload at the machine or go to the desk. You can also put your tickets at the machine up front to claim your points and swipe your card after you are done. Most of the games were working so that was cool. Hardly anyone was there on weekday at around 2 in the afternoon. The mall didn't seem busy during the weekdays so that's a plus. I would definitely return with my hubby and daughter. This Fun Factory is so much better than the Kahala mall one. If you read my review about the Kahala Fun Factory, we had some issues there with the manager. We haven't been there since. So one day we were at Windward mall and saw Fun Factory. This Fun Factory is huge. There are so many more games and activities to do than the Kahala one. The floor space in there seems a lot bigger too. I liked that there was a good selection of kids games too. My daughter had a choice of what she could play. She had a great time and when it came time for redemption of the tickets, it also went smoothly. Of course she wanted a stuffed animal... They did have one to redeem for tickets and it was a lot cheaper than when we redeemed for one at the other location. She was happy and so were we. This Fun Factory is located within the Windward Mall and is right between Ross and Koolau Pets. I dont frequent this side of the island so we wont be coming often. Besides, Fun Factory can get pricey! I do like how spacious this location is though. We have one near where we live and have had parties there. The size is not even close... I would love to have a party with all the room here! Either that or I hope our location can expand. The games seem similar to the selection we have. I didnt get to check out the prizes tho. Always had a great time at this Fun Factory location! Located in Windward Mall between Ross and Koolau Pets, huge location with all the lights and noise you need to excite your kids! Other than playing the games and using your reusable charge cards, everything is clean and the staff are quick to react to problems (in my opinion). Came here to redeem the TEN rechargable cards I found in my house *face palm* and ta staff member was nice enough to let me do that. You cant consolidate your points on to one card though, you can only redeem all the points in one sitting. READ THAT CAREFULLY. Had about 1000 points to use and the array of prizes is jarring! So many cool items and toys -- Many of which I dont see on store shelves. Used my points for a whole bunch of school supplies that I plan to donate so its a win-win! When I was down to my last 19 points the staff member let me get a 20 point item, haha. That was really sweet. Had a nice encounter here recently and I plan to be back with my family. This is one of the few remaining Fun Factories left in the state. I remembering going to the two they had in Waikiki (old International Market Place and Kuhio). My favorite was the one at Pearlridge. While I hardly played the games, I would go there to buy my Hurricane Popcorn. It was so good because the popcorn would be freshly popped. Those three locations have been closed down. I wish this one at Windward Mall would have a snack bar but they don't. My husband and son likes to play some of their games. They mostly play skeeball and basketball. A long time ago they used tokens. Now everything goes on a plastic card, tokens and tickets that you win. To claim prizes at the rewards center, they just swipe the card and it deducts the tickets. This Fun Factory location is huge! It took me by surprise I thought it'd be small and I don't ever remember the area of games being so large. But all the more fun for kids who just loves the arcade!! My daughter loves to spin the Big Bass wheel to collect tickets, she once won 1,000 tickets on her own. I like to think she's lucky :) The staff helped us with the air hockey game the puck kept on getting stuck and we were rewarded with more tokens /$$ on our game card. Time for prize redemption, the guy was very patient with my daughter so I appreciate that, it takes heart and patience for this type of work. :) read more

Fun Factory is located next to the pet store in Windward Mall. The mall itself is very spacious and lots of food kiosk. Outside of Fun Factory is a popcorn kiosk - a perfect place to grab a snack and watch the kids play. There's a seating area near the kiosk and Fun Factory so it's a nice place to take a break from playing and have a snack. The games have gotten more expensive over the years, but that's to be expected. $50 bought us 30-45 minutes of playing. You can reload your card at a machine or at the cashier. The games appear to be safe such as nothing broken, chipped, or anything dangerous to the children. Lots of room for the children and adults to move around. To receive prizes, the employees swipe your card to deduct the tickets. This process is like Dave and Buster's - very convenient and you don't have to carry the tickets around. My friend's children had a great time and to be honest, I did too. There's games that the whole family can play. A great day for us! read more

An older man - looked like a manager - was sitting and chatting with another worker when we walked in, but jumped up to help myself and another customer as we approached the counter. - I've never been a fan of fair/carnival games, arcades, etc. Call me cheap, but I can think of better ways to spend (or waste) my hard earned money. In this case, the money wasting (in my opinion), is facilitated by the electronic card system. Games are played by swiping the card and cost "credits". No more quarters or tokens. Your "tickets" are also automatically calculated on the card. Convenient, but very easy to lose track of how much you're spending - which is the point :-( - Cheap toys to redeem your tickets. Lots of Made in China stuff that will either break immediately or the kids will lose interest in. Fine for an occasional treat/bribe for the kids, but we won't be regular customers. Tip: There's no bathroom inside Fun Factory, but you can use the bathroom in Panda Express across the way, so you don't have to walk all the way to the food court bathrooms. read more

Fun factory is a pretty self serve place. There's machines where you can reload your cards, check your balances, you get your tickets placed directly on to your card from the game that you're playing, etc and so the only time you really need "help" from a real person is when you want to redeem your tickets for prizes or if a game isn't working. So with that said, I just have to say that I've had decent experiences with employees there, but there is one employee who just rubs me the wrong way and has frustrated me so much by the lack of her customer service. One night I went in and the employees with smile or acknowledge me and other people when we walk in. This employee was SITTING ON THE COUNTER and on her phone. When I needed help she didn't help me and when we received a gun as redemption of our tickets, my son opened it up and it didn't work. I went back and told her it didn't work and asked if we could exchange it. She said no and that there weren't any exchanges. I'm sorry, but are you aware how much money I've spent at fun factory so my son could earn all those tickets for a gun and you won't let me exchange it for one that works?! Another incident was where my son tried to play a game and my card wasn't working. I took my card to the machine where you can check your balance to see if it worked. Since my card worked there, I figured I ask her to check the game that he was playing to see if the machine card reader wasn't working well. She swipes my card in her computer and says that I have a certain amount of coins and a certain amount of tickets. Yes...I know that, I just saw that on the other machine! She continues to ask me if I used my card at another fun factory. I said no...why? She says my coins needed to transfer from some where else and that my card should work now. Um...WHAT?! It's a card, a FUN FACTORY CARD...WHERE DO MY COINS GO, TO MARS?! I look at her with a blank look and say ok and walk away. I go back to the machine to see if what's she saying is right and to see if my card really does work now since my coins came back from Mars. The machine didn't read my card and my son didn't get to play that game. I'll never let my kids play in that fun factory if that girl is working. How hard is it to give decent customer service and to go just a little bit more to look into a machine not working and how hard is it to exchange a toy that doesn't work?! Pros: - Variety of games (toy grabbers, sports, arcade, etc) - Some better prizes than at other locations (ie. Pop starwars vinyl bobbleheads!) - Games appear in good condition - Clean (well.. as clean as Fun Factory can be) - Lots of room. Although it looked a bit empty at first, I like the feeling of not being cramped between narrow isles and crowded rooms. - Electronic credit for games is convenient and I do like the fact that they still give physical tickets :D Cons: - Like everything else in Hawaii, I feel like the cost per game has increased.. And it's less apparently since now all we need to do is swipe our card until we have insufficient funds. - I know that the new generation is their biggest customer population, but I wish they kept more of the old school games so that we could introduce them to the kids nowadays! I don't get these games where you need some tiny figurine or whatever to control animals or something.. - Generic and cheap quality prizes both inside the claw grabber machines and in the area redeemable with tickets. My Go-To's: - I keep forgetting its name but you throw balls and knock down clowns... This location has a wide variety of games, some for little toddlers to kids to even teens & adults. ** Mini Merry go round, Race car driving games, Basketball hoop game, Air Hockey, etc. This used to be one of my favorite fun factories, mostly because of how open it feels. The games aren't crowded at all. The games really do range and accommodate to different ages which is what i like about this location. The customer service has been pretty consistent, Good. The workers are nice and chill. I've noticed that a few times, some games had a defect in which i had to notify one of the workers. Each time i did, the workers did so promptly and was apologetic for the fact which i appreciated. The ambiance is very different compared to the other locations, I'm unsure if it's due to the fact this location is much slower paced than the other ones. It's nice, yeah once in a while as a treat or a little cutesy date but to frequent all the time is a no for me. read more

Staff needs to be educated in common courtesy and customer service immediately!! The staff at Windward mall Fun Factory have been fine until today. I've been going to Windward mall consistently once a week for the past month and today a bald, shorter asian man who seemed like the manager decided to sit and chat with another worker the entire time I had my discrepancy. When I had a discrepancy they not only blew me off but made me feel like I was a complete con artist! I was playing on two of the coin machines and I was manuevering between the two. There was one slot (the middle) that ate my coins sometimes and worked others. Although I had a lot of coins that the machine ate I kept playing because it was the middle slot and it still worked intermittently. Besides, I knew after I played a few more rounds I would call them to get the coins the machine ate so I could be compensated and proceed to use those coins in slots that worked before I cashed out my tickets. Man, I wish I would have never gone into Fun Factory at all! So I tell the 'manager' (the bald, asian guy) what happened and the worker, a guy named Ian proceeded to use a sharp object to loosen the coins. The coins dropped into the play area, pushed a bunch of coins (I would say approx 15) and of course, no tickets came out. After Ian got the coins loose he closed the top chamber and walked away. My family and I watched in awe at the fact that they completely disregarded the fact that I didn't get any reimbursement or anything, they could CARE LESS. When I tried to explain the situation (how I didnt get reimbursed for the coins) the manager told me, "the coins that dropped didn't give any tickets because the sensors already read the coins when it passed through the first time and when nothing dropped the machine didn't give tickets." I don't care that I didn't recieve any tickets, I care that I didn't get any coins reimbursed from the ones that I lost. Needless to say, after further explaining it seemed like the manager was too far into his conversation with another worker to care about me explaining why them unclogging the machine and walking away isn't right. Therefore, to shut me up he told the worker Ian to just give me five coins and "everything is settled". I told them, "Five coins? It's more like 15". Ian responded by saying, "15?! I counted 9", with an attitude. I immediately felt like they were treating me like some kind of con artist trying to get them out of 10 coins, it was completely ridiculous! To shut me up again the manager told Ian to just give me five more coins. Now, I'm completely irritated because it was never about the coins it was about them understanding what I was trying to explain (it's not right to have a machine take a customers coins and not reimbursing them). When Ian came back he gave me five coins and I proceeded to explain what I mean, I would have completely been satisfied if they would have just listened, understood, and reimbursed me without the attitude and discrimination I felt. I asked Ian, "Do you understand what I'm trying to say?" And he responded, "small kine", while walking away. The manager was chatting with a lady that also wore a fun factory shirt (navy blue) the entire time I was having this issue. Both the manager and Ian both blew me off like I wasn't worth the time of day. Needless to say, I'm never going back there again. I felt discriminated against and I felt like I was wasting their time. I am definitely not going back and it's definitely not a place I want to give my money to. *Update* I called the vice executive of EK Fernandez in charge of all the complaints for Fun Factory and there was no response. It has been over a week and still no reply or call back after I left a very detailed message about my issues and concerns. Wow, just wow. read more

They were both right there every time we turned around to look for someone. As a long time restaurant server, I appreciate that kind of timing and helpfulness. Very dissatisfied with the lack of cleaning and sanitizing going on while at fun factory in windward mall. We wanted to be able to do something for just a little bit of time, since the weather had been bad, but when we got there, 4 people were behind the counter, and no one on the floor cleaning anything. Two bottles of hand sanitizer in the front of the store, and that was it. No form of contact tracing taking place- as people just walk in and out. Again very disappointed that not more precautions were taken, so we left as we did not feel this was a safe place to be. read more

This place always looks new every time we come. It is always exceptionally clean and staff are professional and friendly. They have an awesome new Pac-Man air hockey game that plays 4 people and releases like 20 pucks in the middle of the game, super fun and crazy! This location is just the right size. I have 3 boys who all want to play something different. There aren't too many hidden spots to lose them in AND I really like that this place is well lit, so well lit. Over the years, I've visited Fun Factories at different locations on this island (Pearl Ridge, Kahala and Kam Shopping Center) and of course the one at Windward Mall. I think Fun Factory does a good job of presenting a number of ways to amuse oneself. The games do cost money and I haven't taken the time to figure the exact token to dollar ratio but there's at least 3 ways I know you can stretch your dollar. First, the more tokens you buy, the more bonus tokens you get. Usually I get $100 worth of tokens at a time. Second, watch for specials like on July 4th, they have double tokens if you purchase. So for $100, you get $200 worth of tokens. Third, become a regular or get VIP card. Once you spend $500 or more, you are eligible for a VIP card. On Tuesdays, the games are half price and the price per game is less. The staff at the Windward mall store has always been polite and helpful to me, when I visit and the machines are usually in good condition. The only criticism I have is the selection of prizes aren't as good at Windward Mall as it is at the Kahala Mall store. When I've asked the staff about this, they say it's because the better items tend to run out fast. But in comparing prizes between the two, Kahala location tends to have the better prizes. Other than that minor item, it's a great place to amuse yourself. Come on down! read more

I generally don't leave negative reviews for businesses, but in this case I will make an exception. First, you have to purchase a swipe card for your child. This costs an extra dollar to obtain, i.e., you get $9 worth of "credits", but you are charged a total of $10. This should have been my first clue. (I know, I know, it is reloadable, but come on, really?!?!) Next, you swipe the card to get tokens, but it turns out the tokens can only be used in a limited number of Vegas-style machines that your child will drop token after token into in hopes of winning a ticket jackpot. When one of the machines didn't work properly, my 11-year old asked the attendant to check to see if there were even tickets in the machine. The attendant refused to do this, stating that the machine was working perfectly, leaving my child standing there looking puzzled, and me feeling more than a little irritated at his off-handed dismissal of my child's concern. (Maybe it is just me, but how difficult would it have been for this man to just check the machine?) Third, the actual games (arcade games, skee ball, etc.) require you to swipe the card to play. We were shocked that a game of skee ball cost $1 worth of credits per game! Personally, I feel that this is quite underhanded and dishonest, because if you hand a child the card, they have no idea how much they are "paying" per game. When a machine takes tokens, at least your child is aware of how much they are "spending". We spent a total of about ten minutes in this place, and that is ten minutes and ten dollars I will never get back. Not even my kid wants to go back, and that's saying something. read more

I walked into Windward Mall Fun Factory one day in the last month and saw the Mercedes Benz RC Car. I wanted to purchase it with my tickets because I had more than enough tickets, when the general manager, Chris, told me I couldn't buy it because it was the last one and their prize area would look empty. I don't think just because I have a friend that works at this location, that he's allowed to tell me that. I wasn't socializing with my friend I just wanted the car. So I was upset and he didn't seem to care and my friend told me she can have someone order it for me. Today 8/19/2017, I went in to ask if they had ordered it, and the one who called to order it, I guess his name is Dayton because that was on his name tag, said he called and there were no more of those cars. Then Chris, who was also here, told me "oh you can just buy that last one then". What?? He told me I couldn't buy it when I really wanted it and NOW a WHOLE MONTH later he says "oh you can buy that one then" just because there's no more of them. Not to mention he said it with an attitude so that put me off even more. If you want people to spend money here your customer service should improve a lot. I will tell my friends and family to spend money at Kapolei or Mililani if that is not the case because I know those two have great customer service as I have been to both before. Chris has made me so angry I started crying and I just have never before experienced such an unprofessional attitude. For now I will not spend anymore money at Windward Mall Fun Factory. read more

We took our daughter in to play tonight at about 8:30. They said they closed at 9:00 so we bought a card and didn't load too much money on it. While we were playing they announce "we are closed" and the machines immediately shut off. It was shortly after 9:45. I think they should have told us they would be closing early before we bought the card. Also it was kind of a bummer for our daughter to get to play for less than 15 min. If they mentioned that would close early we wouldn't have loaded a card. That's all. read more

one word HORRIBLE ! The staff there have no sense of customer service including the manager ! We had a problem with one of the games there which we paid for but didn't turn on or run correctly. Okay, that's a common problem at many games rooms right ?! We weren't upset but we did want our credits back. I went up to the front where the staff was and the manager started to tell me that he could not refund me my credits which were only about 1$ worth...he said he would have to call the manufactur of the game and fun factories headquarters and that they would get back to me with a credit refund !!!! JUST SO YOU ALL KNOW!!! The website for fun factory says their branch in Kaneohe opens till midnight. The workers told me they close at 10pm. After a witty remark from a worker at the store (he said "some people like to home you know"), I went to play in there any way because my kids wanted to have fun. After having to cut our time short, and disappointment on a few faces, we went to a movie instead. I'm upset because of this false advertisement and hope none of my friends experience it too. I hosted a birthday party here and was hoping for a pleasant experience but things didn't go as planned. They allow outside food and drinks but some of our food came 30 minutes late and while we were waiting, management was ready to kick us out because we were just standing by the tables that they had set up. That's ridiculous - I was told I would have time to use the tables and chairs. The manager said it was because we were blocking the way and Saturdays are busy days. (Well why put the tables there if we were blocking the way?) I felt rushed and embarrassed that I had to tell my guests to hurry up and eat when the food got there. Then later, management sent a worker to tell me I had a 30 min grace period to clean up and leave. Okay that was fine. I cleaned up but it seems I took too long because at the end of my time limit, the manager came to the table and put his hands on the table and hit it in front of my guests as a gesture to hurry up and get out. That was extremely rude and unprofessional. It probably would've been better if maybe he had offered assistance in cleaning up. I will never have a party there again and won't ever recommend it to anyone. read more

I recently came here the other day to play some games with my kids. One of my kids was playing at the tower of tickets and fed a 150 ticket stack into the machine and we were shorted 3 tickets and asked the manager Vincent to compensate the remaining three. However, instead of being nice to us about the situation, he kept making rude remarks and sarcastically asked us if we "had the ability to read" as there was fine print on the ticket stack that said for us to turn it in. His attitude was what ticked me off the most just because we just wanted 3 tickets, not a damn lecture on what we did wrong, especially since the fact that I'm a paying customer and a long time customer of the Kaneohe location. Don't expect me to come back with that horrid manager there. One star. The manager had the worst customer service ever. I made an account just to complain, he angered me so much read more

Don't go here until the workers appreciate the customers. I changed all my cards from this Fun Factory to Mililani, Pearlridge and Kahala. The workers there are far better at Customer Service. the Transformer game at Windward was not calibrated properly. Worker gave me credit back for games that were only 4 credits. Paid 2 times 9 credits. Rip off. Also, worker acted like I was bothering him. Same thing happened at Pearlridge but worker gave me full credit with coins. I don't think I will ever go back to this Fun Factory. Lucky I gave 1 star. Should get 0. read more

The employees are pleasant and friendly. They are also approachable and helpful when something goes wrong with the games. Every time we go, they are able to fix any problems in a timely manner. During our most recent visit, I had 7 kids with me (4 of my own and 3 nieces). Some of the kids were a little short on tickets and weren't able to get a prize. Seeing their disappointment and the fact that I was outnumbered 7 to 1, one of the employees showed compassion by offering more tickets to the kids who didn't have enough so they could each get a small prize. I was so grateful for her kindness because every child left Fun Factory that day with a positive experience and a smile on their face, and I didn't have to spend $20 more so they could earn enough tickets just to get a small prize.
