I was very excited to find this place. The owner looked like a very fun guy - an enormous white beard and very hospitable - that's fulvio! My wife ordered the artichoke salad entree. It was nicely presented and looked great but it was huge. Big enough for both of us. Unfortunately i ordered the burratta which came and was equally huge. It was nice tasting but couldn't they give us a 1/2 order. The main plats came. - tagliatelle with scallops for my wife and rigatoni amatriciana for me. Mine was quite tasty , although on the cold side while my wife's again was huge. I had a taste of hers and it was ok. With wine I was a little taken aback by the price- 175€!! We came here on a recommendation from someone in our hometown of Las Vegas and Wow, what a great Italian dinner experience with Fulvio. We had a deliciously satisfying meal so much so that we made reservations to go again before leaving Paris so stay tuned for part two. FOOD: Fresh pasta and excellent fresh sauces made for a truly authentic Italian dinner (See Photos Below). Later for dessert we had their most talked about Pana cotta, it was delicious, light and creamy. AMBIANCE: Romantic lighting, great for a date night dinner. It's small but comfortable ENTERTAINMENT: I wouldn't consider the owner Fulvio entertainment but he certainly does have a bigger than life personality. He's a very warm and social man and was very attentive to us the entire evening. We got on with him great! SERVICE: Fulvio and Dominique are the chefs, the servers and the hosts and the service was phenomenal, no complaints. Fulvio even took the time to explain a lot of the menu items and things that we may like to try. Our French is limited but he did very well explaining everything. Came to this little mom and pop shop for our last night in Paris. Such a homey vibe when we got in. The food was so delicious and the owner was so accommodating. He explained the menu to us; described types of pasta, sauces, and meats/veggies. He recommended to me the calamarata with crab meat. My first time having this type of pasta and it did not disappoint! I highly recommend coming here for a relaxing night and good food. read more

2 words! Eat here! I loved it so much that I had dinner twice here. On the first visit I had the mushroom spaghetti without cream and it was amazing. Full of mushroom flavor and very clean since there was no cream added. We also ordered a bottle of red wine which was amazing and smooth. Paired well with my pasta. On the second visit I ordered the spaghetti with asparagus and it was so good as well. It had some Parmesan shaved on top just giving it enough salty flavor. Never have I tased asparagus like this before. I loved both dishes and will definitely be returning again every time I visit Paris. Fulvio is a very nice and charming man. It's only him and his wife running the small restaurant and he's been there for 30 years (according to him). He takes all the orders himself as he goes table to table with a chalkboard menu. He will tell you the specials of the day and then ask what type of pasta you like and based on your answer he will recommend some dishes. He definitely knows his stuff. I would highly recommend making a reservation as this place fills up fast or you can get there right when they open and you should be ok to get seated. Now, go there and enjoy the food. Our last night in Paris we wanted to have a nice meal and that is when we fumbled upon Fulvio thanks to Yelp. We were a group of 7 and by Paris standards that's a pretty big group since most restaurants are pretty small but we were seated promptly. Our service was amazing and the owner(?) has unbeatable energy and explained in detail the menu. You can tell the passion he has for his food. Buonissimo! The owner here is a delightful character who takes great pride in his work - he personally read off the menu to us and explained each dish in great detail. Loved how passionate he was about his craft and his enthusiasm for our reactions to his dishes made the experience very memorable. The mozzarella was the chewiest I've ever had with great taste and texture. Served with the freshest of cherry tomatoes and simply plated arugula, oil and vinegar. A great plate to share as a starter dish. The pastas were unique and generously portioned. My husband got duckling pasta, with orange zest and creme sauce. Heavy on the citrus, so get this only if you like zing on the sauce! I had the bottarga and was impressed with the generous flavor and amount of fish eggs in the dish - this one packs a punch with garlic, so keep that in mind if you were hoping for fresh breath after your meal. Fulvio is a neighborhood eatery that locals flock to for lunch. I am teetering between 2-3 stars. The lunch menu is "le formule" / the chefs selection for the day, or you can order off the dinner menu. We took le formule for 18e each and unfortunately it wasn't as good as it came recommended. I asked for rose wine and was given red. (Oui je parle français) The red wine tasted corked and old. The greens on the plate were wilted. The entree consisted of penne with some red sauce, but the sauce was sparse and I noticed that when the owner arrived, the plates coming out of the kitchen had more sauce than when he wasn't present. Maybe we should have waited to have a later lunch later so that the owner would have been there. The panacotta was delicious but for lunch and dessert of that quality, I wouldn't pay 50euros. read more

Came here on a recommendation that it's the best Italian food I'd ever eat, while in the midst of an extremely intimidating solo trip to Europe (my first transatlantic crossing!). Fulvio was warm and friendly and didn't scowl at my broken French and remained jovial despite having to speak with me in English. The food was several courses, each amazing. Top-notch Sardinian food. Very nice setting (kind of a smaller room with a cozy feel), amazing food, and the prices are OK. The owner is very proud of his food (he's Sardinian... what did you expect, hehe?) and will go through the menu with you and answer all of your questions. Guests tend to arrive on the later side--on a friday night, only 3-4 tables were taken at 9, but the room was almost full when we left at ten. Great local eatery with a scrumptious italian menu. The focus is on pasta, but the chicken Milanese is a perfect plate too. The burrata and prosciutto melted in your mouth. Oh so good. Special fall ravioli with sage and rosemary cream sauce was unique and complete comfort food, so was the gnocchi. We dove right in, forgot to take pics! No time for desert so i have to go back. Fulvio himself is the most charming host I've ever had in any restaurant in the entire world. He clearly loves his restaurant and his job and it's infectious. Josh sent me! This place is THE BEST and honestly one of my most favorite restaurants in the world. Anyone on Yelp who gives it less than 5 stars must clearly have a screw loose. My only issue with this place is that it causes me to eat dangerous amounts of food. There should be a caution sign on the window. Everything is made and served with care. It's pure perfection. I never write reviews, but this restaurant is worthy of one. My last night in Paris I stumbled upon Fulvio's restaurant, it was close enough to my apartment and I was craving some pasta. Fulvio's surpassed all my hopes and dreams! There was only one other table in the restaurant, but it was a late Tuesday night. Fulvio took the time to come to my table and explain each menu item in complete detail. My table started with the bufala mozzarella. I still have no words to describe how dreamy the cheese was, absolutely amazing. Each person at my table ordered a different pasta so we could try a bit of everything. I had the squid ink pasta which was the best squid ink pasta I've ever had. The pasta was prepared al dente and was filled with pieces of squid. My mother had the tagliatelle pasta with three ground meats, the flavor of the meats were outstanding. My aunt ordered the ravioli with white truffle, although the sauce was incredibly heavy, a bite of the ravioli and the sauce was truly heavenly. My grandparents shared the gnocchi. You could tell the tomato sauce was fresh and had a delectable, well-rounded flavor. I can't recommend this place enough, it's truly a hidden gem in the heart of Maris. read more

This was a really great meal. Some beautiful ingredients (wonderful salami and ham in my massive starter salad) and wonderfully seasoned and put together ingredients. Not too many patrons when I turned up (around 9:30) but was full by the time I left (11:30). The owner is front of house and waiter - he does everything. This led to some slightly longer waits for service than ideal but not really problematic. Beautiful main course of linguine with fresh sardine - subtle and gorgeous and very fresh fish. Only disappointment was the wine. Proudly italian selection, but only one option (montepulciano) for wine by the glass. I was on my own so a bottle would have been too much. The wine selection is good and it doesn't matter what you order, it will taste amazing. I can recommend the mozzarella and the pasta. We visited this restaurant 4 July 2016, based on some of the positive reviews posted on this site. What a disgusting experience because the proprietor, who some have described as delightful, was the most narcissistic, rude, and aggressive person with whom I've ever come in contact. The chalkboard menu was largely illegible and needed to be deciphered. Without pleasantries, the proprietor came over to our table with the blackboard, and very aggressively asked whether we wanted to share an appetizer. When my French friend responded to him in French to ask a question, he immediately responded to her rudely, in French, and then in English, that he would explain the menu. There were probably close to 30 items on the menu that he read through in lightening speed, and at the end, we were expected to spit out an order. When I said we needed a moment to digest the menu, we received an exasperated shrug. At this point, my friend and I, weary of the poor behavior and attitude decided to leave, and spend our time in a less aggressive environment. As we exited the restaurant, the proprietor berated us with expletives in French, and then, I guess for my benefit, in English, called us f******a*******, stupid, and f****** dumb. Happy Independence Day! This continued as he followed halfway down the street, yelling, and telling us that his reading of the menu was work for him. What aggressive and self-demeaning behavior towards two women. Wow. All because we exercised our right not to spend money where we felt unwelcome. If I had been any of the diners there witnessing that, I would have surely left. Why would anyone want to eat there with such potential erratic behavior? Happy to report we found Le Petit Italien, also in the Marais, right behind Place des Voges. Friendly service and delightful food. We will definitely return. The takeaway here, avoid Fulvio unless you enjoy a slice of vitriol with your antipasto. read more
