It used to be COOL to have my very own watchmaker Bill LADO but then he decided to quit working there on Sunday so he and Owner Saatchi had a huge fight that results in having his WIFE collect watch repairs so he's avoided "booth fees" due to Saatchi ANYWAY they lost my Wittnauer Candino Tungsten Carbide timepiece & I hope they replace that as Saatchi CLAIMS my $1,300 watch is worth ONLY $500 ( I found one at $210 needs cleaning & battery so maybe after 2yrs they'll fix this ) I got the watch when celebrating an Anniversary so it's got highly sentimental value and simply refuses to be scratched due to it's being hard as a drill bit..14 yrs with not one scratch is impressive.. read more

Don't go to SAATCHI. I went there on Christmas Eve to buy earrings for my son. They were enticing customers with a 50% off Christmas sale. I searched diligently but couldn't find any earrings that I liked for my son. However, the staff convinced me to pay $100 with the promise that they would create the desired earrings within a couple of weeks. Regrettably, it took almost four weeks for them to complete the order. When I received a picture of the final product via text message, I was disappointed to see that it looked nothing like what I had originally requested. To make matters worse, they even asked for more money. Feeling let down, I requested a refund, but they refused to provide one. Frustrated and not wanting to invest any more time or energy into the situation over just $100, I reluctantly accepted one of the two pieces they had made. They tried to persuade me to pay an additional $50 for the other pieces, but I declined. Honestly, I don't believe anyone would be willing to pay $50 for even both pieces. read more

Every important watch my family bought most likely came from there. When we need them fixed that's were we always went. This last time was so good my father had passed away we were cleaning had to our watches plus some of his up there. They had trouble keeping track of them giving us a fair price some of these watches are antiques. He got its $689. I love everything they have and it's hard not to pick out something that you like from various styles of diamond rings (you can pick a mounting and a loose stone separately), bracelets, necklaces, also some jewelry with precious and semi-precious colored stones like sapphire, ruby, emerald, amethyst, citrine, tourmaline, etc. The best is, if you have a specific request of a style, design or a stone, they can make it happen because of their network and years of experience in the industry. On top of everything, their prices are reasonable! I love my sapphire ring, and my friend loves his custom-designed opal ring. He just showed John a picture of the design he wanted with a loose opal stone he bought from the opal fair in Orange County, and John turned his fantasy into reality! I went in not expecting much but David was so helpful and friendly in no time I was picking out a ring, having it sized, and walking out the door. They're located near to the door on the right if you're looking towards to the Jewelry Mart itself. Pam was very straight forward, honest and accurate. She gave us a discount and made our order as to how we wanted it to be. We bought a wedding band here and our order is a combination of the two rings we found in her collection. We have to return the rings after the ceremony cause the color of the chrome isn't as dark as how we wanted to be and she gladly accepted them back and have them re-done for free. TL;DR version: stone chipped while setting; stone fell out after a month; recommend reading the 1-star reviews in the hidden "not currently recommended" reviews section (which are not averaged into the overall Yelp rating); several 5-star reviews mention the stones falling out (bizarre) ======== No. Just no. There was a sketchy vibe about this place when I walked in, but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt since it was recommended by a friend of a friend. I got a diamond ring. It was shiny and I was pleased, though I noticed immediately that only one of the prongs seemed to be securing the diamond. But, I figured they knew what they were doing, right? Fast forward a few weeks, I notice the diamond is loose. It might've been loose from the start, but I had never poked it directly before. So I take it to a highly-rated jeweller in the area, and he peers at it for about ten seconds before motioning me over and giving me the loupe (jeweller's lens). He then spends the next fifteen minutes explaining what was going on: The diamond was missing a corner and had an additional edge chipped. In that corner, the prong had been half-folded over and then soldered. I could clearly see both the chip, and the bubbles in the gold that the inexpertly-applied solder had caused. There was another prong that was clumsily folded over (and thus securing) the diamond, but it seemed that the remaining two prongs had not been folded at all. The jeweller's opinion was that it looked like a corner of the diamond had chipped off while being set -- the setter panicked and tried to solder that prong, failed, and then was scared to set the last two prongs. So we called the original jeweller at Fullerton Jewelry Mart. We left a voicemail and text, saying the diamond wasn't set securely and that it was chipped. Another vendor told us it would be unlikely she'd admit she'd made any mistakes. The diamond fell out a week and a half later. I had been afraid to wear it for a week, but then put it back on for just a couple days. Luckily, we found the stone. We left another message saying that the diamond had fallen out. It's been two weeks since we left the first message. So far, no response. Please note: most of the one-star reviews are in the hidden "not currently recommended" reviews section and therefore not averaged into the Yelp rating. I highly suggest reading them. Many reviews mention "stone fell out" or "not set properly"... including several of the five-star ones (which is really pretty weird). read more

I was shopping at Henry's nearby when i saw jewelery mart and thought i could hop in and get my watch resized. Boy was i wrong. First off, no one was friendly, when i asked about watch resizing at one booth, he barked at me for talking to him and pointed to another booth, "over there in the corner" he said. So i went to the corner where the man was already helping (for lack of a better word) another customer. He grinned at me without a word and i asked him if i could get my watch fixed. He slowly gave me one nod, still without a word, and went back to his original customer. After standing there for anothet minute or so i said screw this and walked out. She damaged the link on my Hugo Boss watch so badly, that I had to take my watch somewhere else and replace the link with an extra I had. She also messed up on TWO customers watches before mine...I should have left right then and there. I hope that woman and her shady ass prices on her Chinese made simple Japanese quartz watches ($375 for a no name brand? Really?) go out of business soon. read more

A couple of my watches were in need of new batteries. I took them to the Fullerton jewelry mart and had the certified watch specialist Bill Lado take care of the repair. Not only did he help me out but he went out of his way to make sure I was fully accommodated and enjoying my experience. Shortly after I arrived, my watches were done. I went to give Bill the money for his service and he didn't take it. I handed him the cash and he put it right back in the little bag with my watches and returned them to me...This is the kind of service that pleases people, ultimately retaining them as another long-term customer.
