This is for the driving range only. I like it bc it's close to home and there's no dress code on the range. The parking is conveniently close to the range and the clubhouse sells various dollar amounts of range cards for practice. I like purchasing the $100.00 card BC you get extra balls for the $. In addition to the driving range they have two different putting greens to practice your putting and chipping. I've played the course in the past and it's very affordable although it can be very narrow and has lots of hazards if you don't hit the ball straight. Fore!!!!!! read more

Fullerton golf course exceeded my expectations and then some. Honestly I was expecting your typical, boring muni course but this is far from it. The narrow track and elevation changes make this a very challenging but very fun course. Long hitters may be tempted to think this course is a piece of cake but this isn't the case at all, a lack of accuracy off of the tea can quickly get you into trouble. I'm no long hitter but I strike the fairways pretty often and if you keep it in the short grass consistently you will enjoy this course. As far as my personal experience I came to play on a Thursday afternoon. There was some maintenance happening on the course but it didn't interfere with my round at all. Be aware that in the heat of the day the fairways offer generous roll and the greens can be faster than they look. Overall, a great expertise and this one will be part of my regular course rotation. read more

Played here 4.1.22 . It is narrow. If you spray it around off the tee, you'll lose a lot of balls and find a lot of strokes. Greens were just aerated, so the normal aerated putting. Had fun, cheap round. read more

Like many of the other reviews, this place is run terribly. They stack up tee times and take absolutely no responsibility for reckless patrons. We went on a Saturday afternoon, and it was backed up by 3-4 carts. Understandably it is frustrating; however, one lady started yelling and screaming profanity at the carts ahead of her to hurry up. Several people complained about her so the marshall said he will go 'talk to her' but there's nothing more he can do. The staff has a total disregard for golf etiquette and clearly promotes a terrible and hostile environment to play golf. Take your money somewhere else if you want to have a good time without screaming and classless bunch of animals. read more

Used to like playing here. As of recent the pace of play has been slower and slower. It feels like you're spending more time on the tee box waiting to hit vs actually swinging... Let the course ambassador know about the slow play and he didn't seem to mind it at all. Tee time was 10:40 and finished 18 by 3:10. This course has been going down the toilet bowl since the start of Covid. I have no future plans to book any tee times here. read more

I enjoyed playing this course. Narrow and a little short makes it a real challenge. If you play in the mornings it can be very wet in spots. The back 9 is hilly and has a couple fun dogleg holes that are interesting. Fair prices. Breakfast burritos are really tasty. Friendly staff. Overall a good value and fun course. read more

This "sniffs in" around 3.5 stars... A kind chap behind us tossed each of us a quality golf ball barely used after I duck-hooked my first tee shot. Sure enough, his offering yielded much better results down the fairway. "Pay it forward"...thank you kind sir. Oddly enough neither one of us lost the golf balls for this round. The FAIRWAYS are in "OK" shape but are nothing to get excited about with some dirt patches here and there and chewiness. There is a bit too much crab grass and patchiness for me here to get excited about this place. The TEE BOXES consist of seriously short hair and are balding badly. Mud and sludge is collecting in various areas. Their GREENS are mostly in good shape. There are several WATER THERMOS on the course. The ROUGHS are full of awfully thick grass which leads me to select irons over hybrids most of the time. The course is a decent play with some challenges and isn't too flat overall. I like that it is a smaller course with a lot of par 3's in a row. The back 9 is a little longer. The CARTS are still antiques with no GPS to speak of. The pricing is fair. The pace-of-play for a weekday morning was backed up continuously and slow but for the price paid, "it is what it is." read more

Most people would say this course has terrible conditions, ie) a lot of mud all over the place, trash, poor green conditions, etc etc. However, what else would you expect from a sub $30 course? If you want a course with perfect conditions, you will have to pay at least double. For sub $30, you still get a decent challenge at this course. Some holes are a little too easy, but some holes pose a good challenge, even for the experienced golfer. This is a good course for the beginner to intermediate player. By the way, be careful of stray balls. There are some blind curves and people behind you may not know you are there. I nearly got hit by a drive, it was about a foot away. Very close encounter.... Also, people drink here so expect to run into some rowdy folks. Don't bring your new shoes because there is a lot of mud around. read more

Get ready to be punished for Covid by higher prices. I realize beggars can't be choosers in these times but to be hit with extra charges when everyone is hurting SUCKS. So not only did they raise the cost of cart fees but they force you to take 1 per person at the raised rate. What a scam. No mention of this anywhere. This course is challenging for me because I am inconsistent. I played twice and lost total 15 balls. The fairways are with trees/valleys of streams where you can easily lose your balls if you're not hitting center. The greens are in good condition. There is a good mix of dog legs and par 3s. I would love to become more consistent and be able to play a round where I don't lose any balls! The driving range is nifty, it's a valley that you hit over that has markers of distances which gives me a different perspective of distance. read more

Literally the most overpriced course in OC. The fairways are in terrible shape, none of the tee boxes are level, and the pace of play is 5+ hours per round. The course is charging $62 to play at 1:30pm in the afternoon. This is a course that shouldn't be charging more than $35 to play after 1pm. Do not recommend. read more

Pace of play was so bad took 5 and a half hours to play 15 holes. On more then half the hole they have huge squirrel holes in the middle. Hit a beautiful drive ending up losing a ball because it goes in a squirrel hole. On the bright side my first hole in one. read more

However, they won't honor any online rate for fifth golfer despite being informed by (person shall remain nameless) staff that they would. Not the end of the world but frustrating when trying to coordinate. Course is in decent shape. Greens are very well kept and challenging. Awesome terrain changes throughout, some uphill/downhill shots. Front nine sports a bunch of par 3. Few par fives, but plenty of options to pull out driver. The ambassador did speak with us and asked we pick up the pace. However, we had no one behind us at the time and finished 9 in 1.5 hours (not too bad for 5). We ended up letting the twosome behind play through which was a big mistake: they took longer than we did. I will def come back though and would recommend checking for deals online. read more

That's actually 2 things, but let us not concern ourselves with math at this point in time. I'm a terrible golfer, but I remain positive when I'm drinking copious amounts of Michelob Ultra (no homo). Bring into the mix, a portable mp3 player blasting Hall and Oates, and you have yourself a legendary Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Fullerton Golf Course is not a nice course by any means. Who am I kidding? It's pretty run down. But who needs nice when your tanked and couldn't break a hundred even if your life depended on it? I've played here countless times and I still couldn't tell you if the greens play fast or slow or whether to lay it up before the water on hole 9. I'm normally 5 cans of delicious Michelob Ultra deep before I unleash the Mizunos to tee off. I'll lose an average of 4 balls per round. So I save the Pro V1's for the nicer more open courses. From what I can remember, this course is pretty diverse. By diverse, I mean lots of trees. Trees are vital in providing proper concealment of ones self for covert urine dispensing operations. It's pretty inexpensive for a round and a cart. Hell yeah, where else can you get behind the wheel while downing low cal low carb brews and not get popped for a deuce? Or get in a wreck and laugh about it? Strip club? Nah, the course is a male adults true playground. Go home and fall into a deep mid afternoon slumber. With a smile. Hollachaboy. read more

**COURSE LAYOUT - Nice and tricky. Don't let the lower slope number fool you, if you haven't played this course before, the blind shots and random uphill shots will get you! A lot of the holes are very narrow and require straight shots (or else!!). Might be a good idea to put the driver away once in a while. Something to note is that the course itself is not pretty at all, so if you're looking for a view, you ain't gonna get it. **COURSE MAINTENANCE - Greens are OK, filled with pockmarks because if your ball lands on it, it's going to make a deep muddy ball mark that is nearly impossible to fix. These greens are very soft in the morning when they're still wet, and considering that most people play either in the morning or later in the afternoon (due to the heat), the ball marks are to be expected. **PACE OF PLAY - Jeesus, there were a lot of people playing this morning when I headed out for a 7:30AM tee time! Then again, it's probably the only decent time to play in Fullerton during the summer. However, all the people I met were very friendly and let me play through. Expect a bit of a wait, but don't worry if you plan on roasting during the afternoon -- the course should be pretty free. ** MISC - Watch out for the attacking sprinklers! Apparently, Fullerton likes to turn on a lot of sprinklers in the morning (when a lot of people are still playing!), so you might have to be veeery careful. I almost got ambushed on the 15th hole when two sprinklers decided to swing across the cart path. **VALUE - Book your early morning 9 holes through savesomegreen.com and pay only $9 with a cart! Now that's a deal. This course in general is pretty cheap. Don't pay full price, get a deal online. Overall, I might play this course again, but El Dorado in Long Beach is a lot better for $9. read more

Course as a whole is expansive and offers a fair amount of variety; elevation, doglegs, ravines. Some holes appear to have been layed out for convenience rather than premeditated design...or maybe I just hate the 16th hole! As for maintenance, it needs work like Monique's legs, if anything the acreage is similar and just as neglected...Dirt patches, divot marks (guilty), parched vegetation, etc. All that being said, it is my fallback course b/c of the availability and reasonable price -- $46 including cart for the weekend...Pace of play is not too bad as long as there are no women or south korean fivesomes walking rather than riding up ahead. Highlight of the place is the snack shop, namely the chorizo burrito and french fries. Burrito is fantastic. It comes grilled and wrapped nice and tight. The salsa is thick, not watery and borderline fire just to get your nose a little runny. Just the way I like. French fries are thick cuts but very crispy...Cart wenches come by at least once on the front nine and back nine. The middle-aged mullet sporting starter is rude and thinks he runs a tight ship. read more

Come here only if you want the chance to get injured. My mom got hit by a ball golf in the parking lot and broke her jaw/cheek bone. Had it hit her head or anywhere else who knows what could have happened. The golf range took minimal effort to help her as well as those surrounding her in the parking lot. No one wanted to take responsibility for it (of course...humanity these days...) This property needs to be rearranged or people need to golf better, so that people can feel safe here. There have been prior cases of this and they made no efforts to resolve it. Terrible. Come here if you want to wake up with the inability to talk, chew, and look normal. Even though I grew up in Orange County, I never played golf anywhere outside of South County/Santa Ana area. Needless to say, I am a huge fan of this course and only wish I had found it sooner. The course is reasonably priced, somewhat challenging, has a beautiful layout (especially for a muni) and the employees are pretty chill. As much as I look forward to coming back home and playing this course again, it does get two strike against it. First and the biggest strike, lets call it a strike and a half, is that it is run by American Golf.... These guys run the golf course like a damn sweat shop focusing on numbers instead of quality, hence probably the three star Yelp Rating. They stack their tee's times every 7.5 minutes which leads to tons of backups up and down the course. We played during week and it still took us five hours to finish. God forbid you play on a weekend, as I bet you it will take close to six hours. The other strike I have against this place is the lack of a dress code. I really don't care if you play in denim or even a t-shirt, but please, tank tops and cut off tee's? Your playing golf, not going to the gym. Have some respect people. read more

First time playing at this course. It is a pretty difficult course with a lot of slants and creeks where, if you hit it there, will not find the ball. My problem with the place is that the parking lot is not well made because anywhere you park has potential of getting hit by a ball. They should put up higher nets to protect the cars. Also, on some of the holes, there are house to the right side and if you are a golfer, most slice the ball not hook. All in all, I liked the course and would play there again. read more

I went here for the second time a week ago. Wow, this place went further down my list from the first time I played it. You have to be accurate off the tee, there's cross winds everywhere, and for the price, maybe you ought to plant more grass on the fairways and put some decent sand in the sand traps. What I dislike about public courses is that usually the holes are crammed onto each other. And its not so much in the way of design or aesthetics that this doesn't appeal to me, its more the safety issue. Some tee boxes next to greens means a bad approach shot could ruin your day, and luckily some drivers we hit got knocked by trees or who knows what we might have hit. A friend hit a slice drive, and it was zeroing in on some cars, but fortunately caught a tree trunk to kick back into play. Haphazard hole design can be a interesting twist or a sad twist, depending on how you view it. After all, this course has 4 consecutive par 3's in a row on the front nine, and then ends with 4 of the last 5 holes being par 3's. Granted, these par 3's are challenging, as they are long, but still, this is not your average golf course. The other holes are difficult as well because the narrowness of the fairways and the unforgiving layout around the green means that some wayward shots will lead to some high scores real fast. But its cheap! 1/3 the cost of Coyote Hills which is just up the street. So my general rec for Fullerton is that while its short and may seem ideal for beginners, I think this is more the course for mid range players due to all the potential health hazards All in all, not a bad place to play, but again, just a bit dangerous for me. read more

I wouldn't recommend playing this course on a hot afternoon in the summer, but at other times of year, it can be great. We found the condition of the course to be fair to good. Most of the greens were in very good shape for a public course. Challenging par 5's, some short par 4's, a couple of tricky par 3's. Lots of places to lose balls in fairway shrubbery. Bring plenty. 3.5 STARS FO SHO! Fun course lots of different terrain (hills, dog legs, etc.) peaceful and basically pretty. Conditions of the fairways and greens in the summer isn't that great at all, but it's only $27 bucks. BEST SNACK GRILL EVER! Best grilled cheese with ham and hot dog ive ever had, very tasty, made to order comfort food. Love iced-t, iced-t was sublime. Lots of old people 'hanging.' Mellow and not too busy at all. I've read many reviews on Yelp that discuss the "poor" conditions of the fairways and greens at Fullerton Golf Course. It's true that a lot of the fairways (for some reason EVERY landing area off the tee) could use some more watering and attention from the groundskeepers. But, the online specials you get when sign up for the mailing list at Fullerton's website are tremendous and make the course a real value in the North OC golf community. The course is unique and quirky, carved out of a swatch of twisting real estate that follows Brea Creek. It's a hybrid course (not quite an "executive" course, yet not a full blown par 70-72, it's a par 68) in that incorporates challenging par 4's and 5's on the front that feature small multi-level greens that require surgical approach shots. It's true that on the front nine there's several consecutive par 3's, but they're challenging and give better players a chance to go low and higher handicappers a respite from longer, more demanding holes. The highlight holes on the front are the first 3, a stretch of par 4, 5, 4 that demand your attention from the start. It's easy to let the round get away from you on these opening holes. The back nine is longer with only three par 3's of typical +/- 150yds or less. The signature hole on the back has to be the 12th, a hard dogleg left par 5 that is a complete risk\reward hole that requires precision and attention. The 13th hole has the most interesting green on the course, a long and narrow green with 3 levels that always has pin positions that make you question whether or not the greenskeeper hates golfers....very challenging. As far as the e-mail specials go, they range from $20 w/ a cart during the week, to $25 w/ a cart, HOT DOG!, and a bag of chips, and others. The email specials are really generous and make this course a bargain that virtually no other course in the North OC can match or come close to. The grill is delicious and the staff in the grill is great. Most people at the course are friendly and courteous. Overall, (especially when you take advantage of the email specials) Fullerton Golf Course is one of the best values in North OC golf. read more

I usually don't mind going to muni's especially when I can get a good deal when I play. I got a call to go play here for 25 buckaroos with hot dog and chips, and to play at 8am. Good deal right? Well maybe not, a lot of the course didn't have grass so your second shot was off hard packed dirt and you have sprinklers running all day long but not on areas that need it. The course is relatively short, under 6k in yards. There are a lot of par 3's and several holes with elevation changes both up and down hill. The greens are pretty beat up and so are the tee boxes. I wouldn't want to play here for full price as I've played a lot of better courses for 25 dollars and a hot dog. Oh and the hot dog was decent, just salty however. read more

Just wanted to post a review as a first-time golfer. To call me a "beginner" would be an understatement. I didn't even think enough to bring tees with me so I had to use my friends. It was a fun course, didn't get any bad vibes from the ambassador, or the "serious" player our group got paired with; although you could tell he was wishing he got paired with someone else, he wasn't sore about it... this is a cheap course and (I would assume) plays as such. The course didn't seem very forgiving, some of the holes are very close to one another. Not much empty space off the fairways. But since my group was nice, they gave me a some do-overs on some of drives. No one even scoffed at my Grandpa's hand-me-down ghetto drivers and old-school soft bag. Speaking of which, the golf cart must have not been designed for such fancy equipment as around the 14th hole we heard a crash, looked back, and saw all my clubs strewn about the fairway. Good times. That will have to be my first craigslist upgrade along with some drivers that don't look like they were from the 50s. It was busy at our Fri 1:15 tee time. We didn't actually tee off until 1:30ish. I hit par only twice, so I guess you could say I'm not a natural at this golf thing, but needless to say, it was a lot of fun, I could see myself starting to get into Golfing (minus the geeky apparel) - and Fullerton Gold Course has a lot to do with it. read more

Got a great deal on Golfzing...$20 for a mid-day tee time, cart included. Charged me only$19 when I arrived. Best aspects of the course...the Marshall! He was friendly, not very invasive, and gave us great advice (club up!) for #18. We got away with bogies. The course is tricky, in fair condition, with lots of barranca and chances to lose balls -- which I did. Feels like a 1970s time warp course...old school. Bar was woeful. Lack of inventory... You'll be happy if you like beer, but that's about it. Like the desert-style minsters outside. An average course.... Not great, but worth at least one visit. read more
