First attempt approximately 5 months ago 15 minute wait on hold only to speak to a girl that sounded no more than 15 years old and totally clueless about the procedure I was inquiring about. Second attempt approx 3 months ago 15 mins after voice prompts still no response. I hung up. Today 5 mins after voice prompts very nice person ask me to hold. Another 10 minutes still no response. I hung up. The service is reportedly good but I wonder how many people like myself never have a chance to find out because no one ever answers the phone during business hours. I won't try again just in case the service is like the responsiveness.

I booked a massage for my husband online for Sunday. There was some kind of issue with the app and…read moreit booked the massage for the same day. Neither my husband or I received a confirmation of the appointment. If a confirmation was sent I would have realized the mistake and called the studio to fix. I received a VM that we missed the appointment. I called within the hour to inform the appointment should have been for Sunday. The owner said she was charging me full price($120) for no show even after I explained there was an issue with the app. She even agreed there was an issue with the app but said I signed a cancellation disclosure. The weird part is that the owner knows me by name b/c my husband and I frequently get massages at in balance. The owner starting raising her voice and yelling at me on the phone. We have never missed an appointment before so her reaction and behavior is ridiculous. I informed if she charged me for not showing I would no longer book massages at her studio. She was fine with that and charged me full price for the massage even though her cancellation policy fee is $50. This whole interaction is beyond bizarre and between the studios use of an app they know is an issue, not receiving a confirmation via text or email, being charged full price after explaining the issue was not within my control and then being treated poorly and yelled out we won't be back. I wanted to get my husband a massage for Father's Day not deal with this bullshit.

I made two visits to the Salt Cave in the last couple of years with my most recent being a week or…read moretwo ago and had good experiences. I scheduled both over the phone with their friendly staff. I found parking on the main street, but you can find parking easy behind their building in a municipal lot. The front waiting room/retail area was clean, bright and welcoming. My first trip was a reflexology session in the main cave for a foot massage. I'll admit I was a bit skeptical of the cave thinking it was gimmicky, but it was very relaxing and the therapist did a great job on loosening me up and hitting all my pressure points! I didn't have much drainage in my sinuses like I was hoping, but everyone's different. It would be nice to bring along the wife to have a session in the cave together. On my most recent visit I had a salt stone massage with CDB oil in a regular massage room, but they have a salt stone inside. They add CDB oil for muscle relief and hot stones on the legs. I would have liked more pressure, but I still felt great afterwards. I can't say whether the CDB oil did much for me, but that was the first time I had ever had hot stones applied during a massage and I want more! Afterwards I felt loose, refreshed and very relaxed. I wish I had more time to frequent them more often, but I would definitely repeat. Thanks to everyone over at Salt Cave Newtown!
