I made two visits to the Salt Cave in the last couple of years with my most recent being a week or two ago and had good experiences. I scheduled both over the phone with their friendly staff. I found parking on the main street, but you can find parking easy behind their building in a municipal lot. The front waiting room/retail area was clean, bright and welcoming. My first trip was a reflexology session in the main cave for a foot massage. I'll admit I was a bit skeptical of the cave thinking it was gimmicky, but it was very relaxing and the therapist did a great job on loosening me up and hitting all my pressure points! I didn't have much drainage in my sinuses like I was hoping, but everyone's different. It would be nice to bring along the wife to have a session in the cave together. On my most recent visit I had a salt stone massage with CDB oil in a regular massage room, but they have a salt stone inside. They add CDB oil for muscle relief and hot stones on the legs. I would have liked more pressure, but I still felt great afterwards. I can't say whether the CDB oil did much for me, but that was the first time I had ever had hot stones applied during a massage and I want more! Afterwards I felt loose, refreshed and very relaxed. I loved the salt room, the experience was nice overall, but the only bad part was the customer service. The young blonde woman at the front was extremely rude and passive aggressive. It started when she called at 11:15 (at the time of my appointment, I was running 5 minutes late). I told her I was going to be there in 5 minutes and she responded with something along the lines of "ok so you'll be 10 minutes late" and repeated many times that our time would be cut short (which we already assumed since we were late). When we got there she was immediately annoyed. My mom just had a surgery on her ankle so she was walking slow. The girl waited for us at the end of the hall, so when we got to where she was, we stopped too. In a very rude tone she said "you can keep walking" and pointed to where we should walk to. Obviously tone is hard to portray in a review, but I would not be spending time writing this if I wasn't upset by it. I work in hospitality and I would never talk to a client/guest in the way she did. Lastly, when we got in the salt room (it was only my mom and I in there to preface), my mom asked if she would be able to leave the room incase it was affecting her ankle in a negative way (mind you, she is still recovering from a surgery that she just got 2 weeks ago). The girl laughed at her concern and said something like "well why would you even want to leave?" She was just rude and lacked empathy the whole time. When we left the room and were checking out items in the lobby, I heard her talking to a man who worked there about us and how we were late (by 5 minutes...). There are more smaller details I did not include relating to her backhanded comments and lack of professionalism as well. It is unfortunate that what should have been a relaxing experience was actually quite annoying because of this girl. I would never come back here unfortunately. read more

This is my 2nd time visiting Salt Cave. Came this time with GF's and tried the Foot Reflexology set in this room to look like a cave with claiming lights. The room was large enough to fit us all with room to spare. Our therapist (two women and a man) was awesome asking us what areas of the feet they wanted us to work on. They offered us blankets just in case we were cold which was never a issue. The entire place is calming with aromatherapy oils and candles to purchase along with stones. The staff including the owner Makala was courteous and professional. The store is located on a main street with limited parking however there is plenty in the back. The owners and staff were an absolute pleasure to work with--so accommodating and kind throughout the entire process. We had the privilege of experiencing a beautiful tea ceremony which was incredibly calming and truly special. The atmosphere was serene, and everything exceeded our expectations. Staff was far from warm and/ or welcoming. We had -2- $35 gift cards and checked for an expiration date and there wasn't one .Michaela who was assisting me said that it's a law in Pennsylvania that gift cards expire after 5 years- HOWEVER this is what I found: "There is indeed a Pennsylvania law that touches on gift cards and their expiration--but it's not that they expire after five years. " We were charged $100 less just one gift card because Michaela appreciated that I was from out of state- so she gave us a $35 credit and charged us the difference. Why wouldn't she honor BOTH cards as there is NO expiration date on the cards. Upon our arrival into the "cave" the tutorial we received was less than complete. The actual salt experience was very nice but when we left none of the 3 employees asked if we had questions, if we were interested in any products or if we wanted to book another appointment When I asked for my credit card receipt along with my original unused gift card they told me they couldn't produce it but would email it shortly. 8 hours later and NOTHING I don't appreciate being told there is a "law" when that isn't at all true. I've reached out twice and no response! I'm all about supporting small businesses but I work too hard to throw my hard earned money away! Update: I heard from Michaela immediately following this review- she communicated effectively and efficiently UNTIL I questioned the law she stated. Now I hear NOTHING and still no credit for the 2nd gift card. At this point it's principal. I did not appreciate that Michaela said I must've misunderstood her about there being a law - I couldn't make that up! My first salt session was soooo relaxing! I def felt an improvement in my breathing. My gf and I had a sesh in the private deluxe room which only fits 2 ppl. The room itself doesn't look as cool as their larger "salt cave" that fits larger parties. But OMG, the full body compression massage chairs (deluxe room only) are AMAZING! I need one of those in my life. Another perk of the deluxe room is that it's BYOB so we sipped on some bubbly in a closed container. Staff is super courteous and professional. Front of store offers cute retail items including but not limited to, candles, signage and you guessed it, salt lol. read more

DO NOT BUY THE GIFT CARDS! I bought a gift card pre-Covid at the Doylestown location for my mother. I was told that there was no expiration date. There was no date written on the certificate. Obviously, she could not use it due to Covid restrictions for some time. Then when she finally was comfortable to use it, the Doylestown location was closed. We were told that they would honor it in Newtown. Then when we finally got in to use it at the other location, we were told it had just expired! Though we were not told an expiration date and it was not written anywhere on the certificate, apparently it automatically expired after 5 years. What a rip off! read more

Worst service EVER. I'm a former spa and small business owner that rarely write poor reviews. I'm still shocked at how poorly a friend and I were treated. We were enticed to try the new salt room with two new "professional" massage chairs. I am always up for trying new things, and understand when the kinks need to be worked out. I was still surprised when we were left on our own with no guidance. My friend and I spent a very uncomfortable 20 minutes pushing lots of buttons that we couldn't see/didn't light. We both determined that it seemed like the chairs may have not been expanded properly, and one of the chair airbags did not work at all. When I gave some feedback, the staff person just rushed us out of what in most spas is a relaxation room in the back. They didn't say anything. When I went to pay, I said it might be worthwhile for the staff to try, possibly give some suggestions and mentioned how one of the chairs had no airbags. The staff people literally stared at me blankly and said would I like my receipt. The salt part was fun, but this staff needs some MAJOR customer service training, and the owner should put a little more effort into designing a service before charging for it.
