This business opens at 9 a.m. on Saturdays, so I arrived at 9:02 a.m. However, I was turned away by someone who frankly lacks customer service skills. As soon as I walked in, I was not greeted, and the employee was looking down at his phone. After a few seconds, I said, "Hi." He responded with, "What do you need?" I asked if I could have my car looked at because my engine light was on, and he bluntly said, "No, we're busy today. Come back Monday." I was already feeling frustrated, but I agreed to return. When Monday rolled around, I showed up again, and guess what? I was turned away once more! I had decided to try this place based on a recommendation from a friend, wanting to support a local business. TLDR: Reasonable price, customer service was decent, fixed an issue with my car after it got the…read morebumper replaced for NO ADDITIONAL FEE! Would recommend coming here. I got sideswiped while my car was parked on the street, and they gave us a quote of $1200 for a bumper replacement which was all the car needed done. The price was hefty, but $1200 for a new bumper and for the service of taking the old bumper off and putting a new one on, it was pretty reasonable. They also did some light cleaning of the interior of my car and organized some of what I had in the trunk, which I greatly appreciated because it made the interior of my car look a lot better. It took about 2 days to get my car back, which I was very satisfied with. Only a few days after this, though, my backup sensor began beeping at random, and then the automatic emergency breaks would kick in, stopping my car in an instant when in reverse. This was scary for me as a driver because I was worried about backing out onto a busy road, my car slamming on its breaks, and getting into an accident as a result. We brought the car in about a week and a half after the first backup sensor malfunction, and were unfortunately met with rude service. While I believe it was just because the lady was having a bad day, as 3 out of the 4 times we went into S&S she was very nice and respectful, it was still disappointing. She didn't seem to believe that they could've caused any issues with the car. For context, we had owned the car for 6 years and never had issues with the backup sensor. After they replaced the bumper and they returned the car is when we started having issues with the backup sensor. From our perspective, it was very clear that some sort of error occurred in the process of replacing the bumper. However, the lady we talked to did not see it the same way. After some back and forth that didn't get anywhere, the manager came out without us asking for him and we explained our situation to him, which he was very understanding of. The lady (I apologize that I keep calling her "the lady" I don't know her name) came out with the manager and took a look at the car. I showed him a video of the car automatically slamming on its breaks when there was nothing behind it and then we talked some more about the sensor problem. He said they would try to fix it, we turned the car in later that day, and they had it fixed in under 24 hours, which was very impressive. For this, there was NO additional fee! We were very appreciative of this. When we went to pick the car back up, we talked to the same lady and she was very nice and professional like she was the first 2 times we went in there. Overall, I was impressed with how they handled the situation, the extra steps they took during the bumper replacement, and the professionalism of their manager. Would've been 5 stars if not for the singular rude interaction, more of a 9/10 rating or 4.5/5 stars.

I was stuck in Elkhart for about two days when The was supposed to be just a turnaround. Everyone I talked to recommended Dans. After getting the cold shoulder pretty much everywhere I looked. I called Dan's mind you I was 25 minutes away and I called it about 11 AM on Saturday. They close at noon. I spoke to Ryan who I believe is a customer service manager, possibly or the shop manager Ryan did not hesitate to tell me to come by the sooner the better and that he could get me taken care of, even though they would be closing in less than a half an hour after I would be arriving Curtis the amazing technician who offered to stay late to make sure I was taken care of provided me with every detail and answer to every question I had and Ryan did the same as well along with sending me pictures of the process throughout. I cannot recommend these guys in this establishment more. I wish I could give 10 stars. They know what they're talking about. They do a great job and they are truly professionals. Without asking, they keep you up to date on installation progress with pictures. Start to finish perfectly executed and on schedule. I wish all businesses ran like this one. They take justified pride in what they do, and it most definitely shows. Above, was the more succinct "30,000 foot" view of our experience. Below, is a more detailed view of our experience for those who may be interested. We were looking for a flat tow hitch to pull our Jeep behind our class A motorhome. Stacy kindly greeted me and introduced me to Ryan. Ryan walked through some scenarios and asked questions to determine what was most important to me. I was looking for strength, durability, and simplicity. He walked me though options to accomplish that. He had Tai show me a couple hitch designs and how they operate. We got the heavy-duty Blue Ox hitch and the integral Demco braking system permanently mounted in the Jeep. No separate braking unit/machine to put on the floor behind the brake pedal to attach and adjust, as well as take back out, and stow every time. With the Demco system, we just flip a switch on a box under the dash to activate or disconnect the tow braking system. That's it...done. It is more money, but considering the reliability, simplicity, and particularly the speed of set-up/tear down it brings to the table, it is well worth the extra cost to us. Not that it was that much more in the scheme of things. We scheduled the installation. Everything was like clockwork to the proposed schedule. We took the Jeep in 1st. After a couple days we took the motorhome in. The next day everything was done, ready for training, and pickup. Tai did an outstanding job training us the proper steps for coupling and uncoupling the hitch, as well as, putting the Jeep in the correct state to safely tow it. That was more involved than I anticipated. Incorrectly doing a step can damage the vehicle. But don't worry. They give you a comprehensive check sheet for the coupling, uncoupling, and vehicle set up procedure. If you just follow that step by step, you will have no problem. We are laminating it and will keep in the motorhome with the hitch components. I also scanned it as a pdf file in my phone. I like having the checklist as this is nothing you want to be complacent with. Missing a detail can damage your vehicle(s), create a dangerous situation and potentially be fatal for people that happen to be near a failure on the highway. Aren't you glad pilots always use preflight checklists no matter how experienced they are? ;) Tai also took us through some "what if or might happen" scenarios that did not happen during our training. He told us how to address them IF they arise. Coincidently, one happened when we went to uncouple when we got home. We knew what to do to easily overcome the minor intermittent obstacle. By covering that, it saved us from making SOS phone call to them. They know what they are doing. Then once assured the training was done and understood, Tai rode along with us on a test ride to be sure we were comfortable with the operation and handling. Quite frankly, if it were not for the rear-view camera, I wouldn't even know the Jeep was back there. The Jeep tracks exactly the path the motorhome took around corners. All worked perfectly. My review is perhaps verbose. But you were forewarned after the 1st paragraph which was a delightfully concise general overview. You could have stopped there. But apparently you didn't and I am not sorry. I felt it was worth my time, as it was earned, to detail our experience and how satisfied we are with Dan's Hitch and Service Center.
