We had our puppy for 2 weeks before reaching out to her, we wish we would have called her the first day we got our little pup. She has taught us invaluable things that we know will last a lifetime. She is very friendly, calm and extremely knowledgeable. We had a lot of questions and she answered every one of them. We didn't know how to prevent nipping and biting and this was becoming an issue for us. She taught us over video training lessons what to do and it has been a life changer. After the first virtual class we didn't think it could get better but we have had two more virtual classes with her and it's making a huge difference in our training. They have made so many improvments to where the dogs are housed for boarding and daycare. They also have an amazing outdoor dog run area with different doggy agility things. We have a very high energy pit/shepard mix who needs a LOT of exercise. Our dog used to go when it was really only an indoor facility and be worn out for the day. With the new improvements our dog comes home exhausted for the rest of the week. Our favorite thing about this location (other than our dog sleeping for days after she goes) is how friendly and caring the staff is. They clearly know each and every dog and owner that comes in their door.

I could tell from the meet and greet that she loves dogs and treats them like members of her own family. Our dog Daisy has some health issues and we've been apprehensive to leave her with anyone. Cheri treated her better than even we could have. Usually when we come home our dogs are so happy to come home but this time, it was as if they were sad to leave her house. After further asking, I was told they use Fabuloso and Bleach mixed with water to clean the outdoor area and dog suites. They said it is a pet friendly cleaner - this is not stated on the Fabuloso website. Staff did not seem concerned about my dog's reaction which turned into an infection, spent $200+ for emergency vet to get allergy meds and antibiotics. My dog didn't move for 2 days and it was painful for her to walk and go outside. Called this location 3 separate times talking to different people about the issue, there was no concern for my dog's condition, empathy or calls to follow-up. I'm new in town and this was my first time using a facility - very disappointed.

This is not a place you want to go to purchase a pet.... At this point I don't even know where to…read morestart... my husband purchased a pet from here and financed her. When she was around 8 months old she became very ill. We took her in and did everything in our power to save her but she sadly died of congenital liver and kidney disease. The vet bill alone, to try and save her, was approximately 5,500 dollars. Given she was less than a year old we reached out to Furr Babies and asked them what our options were as we had barely even begun to pay the bill from financing her. They called me back a few days later and advised that because she died of a congenital disease, they owed me a "replacement puppy" The idea alone that my puppy was replaceable was terrible in itself but the idea of continuing to pay for an animal we no longer had was no better. We ultimately decided to proceed forward with getting another puppy. We barely had her a week when she had to go in for what the doctor believed to be kennel cough/bronchitis. Of course this happened over a weekend when their preferred vet was not open, so I made the choice to take her in to the after hours clinic. Another 1,000 dollars in vet bills under my belt. I again reached out to Furr babies and explained what happened and asked them to cover the visit as it fell within the 30 day warranty. I was advised they would send my invoice to the owner and let me Know what he says. In the mean time they did offer for me to bring her in for breathing treatments to only try and tell me that perhaps I jumped the gun (a certified vet did not seem to agree with this statement) on taking her in and next time I should call them for advice prior to making that decision. I asked if they were open at 5am when I had to make that choice and questioned if they felt their knowledge was more reliable than a vets as they are not to my knowledge certified. They of course told me that they had more experience that I did with this type of stuff and could have assisted in deciding if she needed to go in. I reminded her again that I just had a dog, from them, pass away and asked how I would seek medical advice from them when they were not even open. I took my puppy in for a week to get breathing treatments and asked everyday to try to get updates from them as I hadn't heard much other than they were going to talk with the owner. Each time it was told they were waiting on him to come in. I have asked on several occasions for the owner to contact me and he either refuses to do so or just doesn't give a damn about his customers as he has made no attempt to contact me regarding this situation. I finally received a message from his staff back on Nov 6 advising he reviewed my statement and was only able to reimburse 35 dollars.....35 dollars is what he offered after giving me two sick puppies. They stated his reasoning was because I went to a vet they were not affiliated with. I questioned again how I was to do this when the one they are affiliated with WAS NOT OPEN. I told them it was ridiculous to offer me 35 dollars given everything that has happened and that I was asking that they cover the 1,000 for the recent bill. I of course was told they needed to converse with their owner and would get back to me. This all started back in October and we are now almost to the end of November and he STILL has not reached out himself nor do I have any resolution in sight!

Midnight, is female, sits on the top of the living room chair watching out the window. Friendly, lovable, meows for me to pet her; such a stress reliever. Leo, the male, is shy. He will spend most of his time downstairs. The cats are quiet, clean, low-maintenance for the life I live. The animal control personal were very professional. The animals were shown care. I appreciated the genuine attitude the building and staff showed. If interested in a pet give a sheltered animal a chance because animals adopted from shelters typically cost less than ones purchased or even acquired for free--once you add in the cost of vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, microchip, dewormer, and other "tide bits" included in your adoption fee, you'll probably be surprised what a bargain it is to have chosen an adopted pet. Most shelters and rescue groups conduct thorough behavioral analyses of each pet to get a better ideal that they will be the right piece for your family. Schererville Animal Control did this and told me if anything happens to please bring the pets back. I can not recommend to adopt a shelter animal anymore than buying from a pet store etc. Most pets end up homeless through no fault of their own--"moving" and "landlord issues" are the top reasons people give for relinquishing their pets, please check out your local shelter. It was definitely 100% worth it for my children and I.

Angela scheduled his vet/surgery appointment and we got him over there right after the weekend. We're still working through the introduction to our dog, but are hopeful that they'll be great siblings. :) I know that there are many animals that come through there, and all I have heard are good things about how Schererville AC takes care of the animals and how professional they are with everyone.
