From start to finish, everything was smooth, comfortable, and far easier than I ever imagined. I had been putting off treatment for years because of anxiety, but opting for sedation was truly a game-changer. The team explained every step clearly, the entire procedure was quick and completely painless. It felt like I closed my eyes and woke up to a new smile. The implants themselves look and feel incredibly natural--like I have my real teeth back again. I can finally smile with confidence, eat comfortably, and not worry about my dental health holding me back. Healing was straightforward, the aftercare instructions were simple, and the results are nothing short of outstanding. If you're nervous about dental work or have been considering implants but are unsure, don't hesitate. Sedation dentistry made the experience painless and relaxing, and the implants have genuinely improved my quality of life. I wish I had done this sooner! Highly recommend!

I've spent months trying to work things out…read moredirectly with Dr. Rega and his team, but after not hearing back, I feel it's only fair to share my experience for others who may be in a similar situation. When I first met Dr. Rega, I felt hopeful. I had already been through a long and painful dental process, and I thought I was finally nearing the finish line. He seemed confident and enthusiastic about helping me with the extractions and implants I needed. Unfortunately, things didn't turn out the way I had hoped. An implant he placed in 2023 looked fine at first, but later scans from two other dentists showed it had been positioned crookedly and too close to another tooth. When I brought this up, he dismissed their findings and reassured me that everything was fine. I wanted to believe him -- but the problems continued. During later visits, additional extractions and implants were placed, and again, the alignment was off. One implant was so close to another tooth that it made future dental work complicated. I've asked for a partial refund, but was told that since the work "functioned," even if it wasn't "textbook ideal," no refund would be given. After two months without any follow-up or accountability, I felt defeated and frustrated. I'm sharing this not out of anger, but in hopes of helping others avoid the same situation. If you're considering major dental work, please advocate for yourself. Ask for clear scans, second opinions, and full explanations before moving forward. I wish I had done so sooner.

The option to pay per visit or at the end of the surgery can give you some flexibility, but still no insurance and paying out of pocket was a pretty expensive ordeal. Anyways, Dr Rega was very polite and friendly towards me and my mom, she reacted very positively towards him (she has dementia). But, he answered a few questions and talked about what was going to happen. The staff was very polite and friendly too, but since my mom uses a wheelchair, I'll admit the way his office is designed and set up, it can give you some slight difficulty getting into the office.

From the moment I walked in, the entire staff created an environment that felt welcoming, professional, and incredibly supportive. One of the things that stood out most was how communicative and transparent the team was throughout the entire process. Before the procedure, they took significant time to thoroughly explain my situation and why a coronectomy was the safest option for one of my wisdom teeth. Instead of rushing through the consultation, they carefully walked me through the anatomy of the tooth and its proximity to the nerve, explaining how a full extraction could increase the risk of nerve damage. They clearly laid out the pros and cons of a coronectomy versus full removal, making sure I understood the reasoning behind their recommendation. I really appreciated that they didn't just tell me what to do--they made sure I fully understood why the procedure was necessary and what the long-term outcomes would likely be. Dr. Shimel was especially impressive. He has a rare combination of technical expertise and genuine empathy that immediately puts patients at ease. It was clear that he truly cares about his patients, not just the procedure itself. He took the time to answer every question I had--no matter how small--and explained things in a way that was easy to understand without feeling rushed or dismissed. His calm and reassuring demeanor made a situation that could have been stressful feel very manageable. On the day of the surgery, the entire staff was incredibly attentive. They checked in frequently, made sure I was comfortable, and clearly explained what would happen before and after the procedure. The surgery itself went smoothly, and the post-operative instructions were extremely clear and detailed, which made recovery much easier. They also made sure I knew exactly what symptoms to expect and when to reach out if I had any concerns. What impressed me most overall was the level of professionalism combined with compassion. Dental surgery can be intimidating, but the team here consistently made me feel informed, respected, and cared for. It's clear that patient safety and comfort are top priorities. If anyone needs wisdom teeth removal or a coronectomy, I would absolutely recommend this practice. The expertise, communication, and empathy from Dr. Shimel and the entire team make them truly stand out. This was easily a five-star experience from consultation through recovery.

Office hours show in office and open, but then the times you go down there, they will not actually be there. This would not be a problem if they did not play a game with 'pay the full price before you get the work done or insurance pays' game, but unfortunately they require full payment up front- thus creating a mess to 'pick up your check' after the fact. They broke me two separate checks and required me to come down twice, calling me both times letting me know a check was there, instead of just waiting on both to show up. Again. Dr is nice and did solid work. The front desk and process is killing the ratings. No paying up front, and no requiring collecting checks twice. Fix your office hours to when you are actually in office- I know its mind blowing.

I was treated with so much respect and dignity. They didn't shame me for having a lapse in dental coverage or poor coverage. The facility looks like a beautiful, luxe spa. Pro tip: their bathroom definitely has a fun vibe and sweet speakers if you need to take a moment to freshen up before you're called into your appointment! The out-of-pocket price for my exam, x-rays and extraction were quite fair. They are transparent about you're paying for and show you exactly what you'll pay before they perform anything. They also offer a discount/membership plan, but I haven't subscribed yet. Special thanks to Zach, who is super friendly and helped me understand everything before my extraction. Mina did a fantastic job helping me understand my x-rays before I met with Dr. Choi, who extracted my very angry tooth. Although no one enjoys such things, I must say that the whole experience far surpassed my expectations. Everyone I've met is so kind and helpful. A week after the extraction I was worried that I might have dry socket, (I didn't) but thankfully Dr. Choi was able to fit me in to follow-up and prescribe some antibiotic mouthwash to help with the pain and swelling as my gum healed. Weeks later, my extraction site is looking healthy and I have zero pain.

The appointment was scheduled weeks in advance, and I even called the office on the morning of the visit to reconfirm. On the day of the appointment, I pulled my daughter out of her flag football practice and we arrived before at 4:10 PM but we went in the office next door (which is also called Gale Ranch Family Dental, but the Orthodontic entrance is separate). To our surprise, the office was locked even though we could see people inside. We knocked repeatedly and waited outside in the heat for about 5 minutes before someone finally came out. Instead of apologizing, she rudely accused us of being late--even though it was only 4:13 PM and we had already been waiting outside. When I explained that the door was locked and we had been there, she changed her story and said the orthodontist had already left for the day. I reminded her that I had called earlier to confirm the appointment, but she dismissed me and claimed no new patient appointments were ever scheduled that late in the day. Her tone was condescending and unprofessional, as if we had inconvenienced her rather than the other way around. No one ever followed up to clarify the situation or to reschedule. If this is how they treat new patients, I can only imagine the experience after signing up. Extremely unprofessional and discourteous--I strongly recommend avoiding this office.

My whole family were patients, so this review comes from a couple of years of experience visiting them atleast twice a year times four. 1. When they call to confirm the appointment and you miss the call and call them back, they claimed each time to have not seen any missed calls, nor received any voice mails, nor any text messages sent to them requesting a reschedule. I have proof in my phone's call logs and text messages of having tried to contact them, yet they insist they never heard from me. If it's a tech issue, happening once or twice is understandable, not multiple times! 2. If you can't keep the routine cleaning appointment made 6 months in advance and speak with someone at the front desk, the office staff's routine response is that the next available appointment is 4 months out and they will put you on a waitlist. Their hygienists are always booked months out but if the hygienist can't come in when you have a scheduled appointment, you are expected to accommodate and they will have spots in a couple of weeks somehow. 3. I needed to ask the doc a question about keeping my dental appointment the following week after being prescribed certain meds earlier in the week for an emergent condition. I was told to wait till Tuesday for the doc to come in to answer the question, when the appointment was also on Tuesday. I was told there would be a charge if canceling an appointment on the same day, which is fair only if they can answer questions about whether I can be treated before the appointment day! 4. The reception area reeks of strong perfume/air freshener. When requested to unplug because it's triggering allergies for my daughter and a migraine for me, the response was the scent doesn't bother them. Good for them, but that's supposed to be a common waiting area shared with patients some of whom do mind the scent and have allergies and migraine issues. There seems to be a rotating door for dentists, we have seen the same person maybe twice in a row. Dr. Shilpa Chovatia, you and your dentist colleagues maybe excellent professionals but your front office experience and scheduling challenges leaves a lot to be desired. We will not be returning. EDITED TO ADD (April 7) I got a call from Jocelyn at the office offering to schedule me with Dr. Shilpi Chovatia for a specific time, if I didn't want to be on a cancellation waitlist. This is nice, but at this point, too late. I have had 3 appointments for different family members in the past month that needed to be rescheduled for different reasons, and we were told each time to wait months or get on their cancellation list. I am unwilling to deal with the extra administrative burden it puts on me to coordinate schedules for different family members with this practice and plan to find a more accommodating office where the office staff don't simply say "ok thank you" and hang up on me when I tell them I plan to find a different dentist because scheduling with them is so difficult.
