There was an area rug that got wet. Definitely my fault. They were here for about 2 1/2 hours and got the water up. They took the floorboards out of my half bath and the vanity out and put in a heater and some type of metal things on the floor. In the basement they put fans and a heater and used my dehumidifier. This was on a Sunday. They came back on Wednesday to check if everything was dry. That man was here for about 15 minutes. I asked him at that time if he had any idea of what the cost would be and my recollection was that he told me maybe around two which I took to mean $2000. They didn't come back again until Friday when they took all their equipment out of here. I then got an invoice from them a few days later for $3147. If they had just come and shut the water off and told me how much it would be I never would've hired them. I have two wet vacs and could've easily gotten the water up and I could've bought fans and heaters for that amount of money. When I called to complain about it, they told me that the man had told me that it would be between two and three but it wasn't in their notes Everyone I have talked to about this has said it was an outrageous amount that they charged including people that work in that field and plumbers. I hate to think what they charged people that had actual floods in their basement from all the rain. I would definitely try other companies.

But today's interaction topped it all! They did work here on Friday, hubby wrote them a check upon completion. However, this morning when he was reviewing the invoice, he realized we had overpaid - due to a change we had requested after they arrived. So he called the office - and before he even finished explaining why he was calling, the woman stopped him and said she had noticed the error on Friday & had ALREADY sent us a check in the mail! Like WOW!!! Talk about honesty & integrity!!! Just remarkable.

Customer was moved to assisted living but generator was still serviced yrly. House is being sold & inspector checked generator, which would not run. Inspector sd needed oil change and had a dead battery. A call to Hobson in Onaway reached voice mail. The next day call back from office worker said the generator didn't work because no one checked it after the ice storm. No satisfaction from that call. Called their emer #, left msg but has been over 24 hrs and no response. Called back ofc # for some kind of resolution, reached voice mail again, over 2 hrs ago and no response. Aren't generators supposed to work when power goes off in an ice storm?? I'm flattering the office worker with one star. Very poor customer service on this one.
