Im not a big sushi guy but i do like it when i feel its worth it. I always feel like sushi can be a gamble. Lots of places have it but whos doing it right for Upstate NY. GUYS! Friend put me on to this. I was full. I was happy. I was sad when it was all gone. I had the Shrimp Tempura Roll and the YumYum Roll i think its called. Their crab is real by the way its not imitated like some places have it done. All fresh! I cant wait to come back here. BITEscale: service 10/10 (all i did was takeout but they were very nice) Shrimp Tempura Roll : 9/10 (if ive had more knowledge about different sushi id have a better scale but to be honest between the crunch the fresh flavor and even the presentation it was amazing) YumYumRoll : 10/10 (if you really eat then you must know what YUMYUM sauce is! And yes its drizzled all over this roll. Another amazing roll). Come here if your in the mood for some of the best sushi in UpstateNy. Located in Oneida out of all places its weird they are located in such an area with little high rated places to eat. A little pricey but it wont break your bank. Set in a hum-drum shopping strip, itself set in down-and-out Oneida, this new eatery is a most welcome addition. Decor is sleek, contemporary Asian - very tasteful. There is a small bar and a separate hibachi room. I tried assorted sushi for an appetizer, miso soup and beef yaki udon for entree. The sushi is the best I've had in CNY - fresh, delicate flavors and beautifully presented. The yaki udon came steaming hot and authentically seasoned. Even the included small salad had a tasty Asian dressing. Service was friendly. I'll be sure to try hibachi on my next visit. I can wholeheartedly recommend Fuji. When I heard Oneida had a sushi shop I immediately thought well that's where you go to get sick. My son talked me into trying the place out. First off I love the Covid safety plan they have. We did dine in. The staff is really friendly and have a sense of humor. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. I tried the Oneida roll. I highly recommend eating here. Service was good and fast and the portions were very solid for the price. Clean and nice inside and they even plated everything nicely. We had a party of ten I was the last one to get food in our party and the guy ran out of food before he served me. When he did realize it I got what he scraped off the grill. Normally I would give 5 stars because I have always enjoyed everything from this restaurant. But this last take out order had many issues. The sashimi had some foul tasting white fish. Had to throw it out. The tuna and salmon were very good as always. Also, the white rice noodles (I think) that is included as a bedding and slivered veggie in the container tasted spoiled. Had to throw it all out. The pepper tuna sashimi we ordered was very dry and was not its usual tasty flavor. The shrimp tempura was mostly breading rather than shrimp. But tasted good. The soup and salad was very tasty. As was the white rice. I will try again but am hoping they look into this and correct whatever the issue is. Too expensive to throw out. Spent over $80. Mostly, Can't afford to get sick on raw fish. Don't let this deter you to eat there. Could have just been "not a good day". I will try again. I believe in second chances. read more
