Found this place on accident. I'm not in this area often and was looking for a quick lunch This is a pretty large place. They had a ton of tables and a cool arcade for kids. I asked if they do slices and they don't but they do small personal pies. I waited barely 10 minutes so they wasn't too bad. Sauce was solid. Cheese was good. A little doughy and greasy but didn't ruin it. If I go back I would ask them to keep in the oven a few more minutes. Just a solid place to try if you are in the area. read more

I say... What is it with putting the pepperoni and meat under the cheese? Really weird. Not disappointing or anything but just weird. Guess that's what sets y'all apart. I love me some good pizza. The pizza and wings were good enough to bring me back, but the prices... Not so much. 40 bucks for two people in Oneida, seems a little steep to me. I do like the sauce and the amount of cheese They put on the pizza. The crust was done great. My server was really friendly. Kind of put her patience to the test though. I asked for ice water, then asked for more ice, then asked for ranch for my wings, asked for peppers and Parmesan, asked for more blue cheese, then asked for napkins. Pepi's was great. I was a bit skeptical, having been raised in NYC and used to good pizza. The place had a nice atmosphere, like an old school family pizza place. I liked the train that ran around the walls by the ceiling and the arcade area with vintage games like Ms. PacMan. The pizza was fantastic -- it had a nice crispy crust, good sauce and a nice amount of toppings. Carrie, the employee who helped us, was kind and attentive. We got the fried dough for the road which was good, too. Would definitely recommend. read more

Just ordered a large chicken wing pizza from the Pepi's in Oneida. First off it looked a little weird, the chicken was deli sliced, not grilled and cut, like they claimed. After eating a few bites I realized that it was turkey, and after calling to inquire about it I was told that they do not have deli sliced chicken, which confirmed my thought about the turkey, which I had added to my anti-pasta salad. Total waste of $25.00 for a large pizza that I only took a few bites out of. Truthfully I have had better frozen pizzas or ones that they have by the deli at Walmart. Probably won't be going to Pepi's again anytime soon. read more

Pepi's has been a mainstay for so long in the Oneida area that I'm guessing most people either love it or hate it. They are definitely unique and most people will notice it the first time they open up their pizza box - 16 square cut slices! The restaurant itself is a bit of a throwback - plenty of OLD video games from the 80's and early 90's line their game room as well as some newer skill games. As a fan of these games, I think it's great, but I see some other reviews complaining about this (insert eye roll emoji). The pizza itself is very good. Their tag line is "it's the dough that makes the pizza" and its meaning isn't lost on me. The dough is thin, crisp, and has good flavor. Toppings get a bit expensive, so I tend to stick to one or two when I order them. They have good, not great, wings and will charge for celery and blue cheese - lame! There aren't many other notable sides other than their homemade fried dough. Here you can get it with powdered sugar or cinnamon or if you are a rebel, get both. The fried dough is an excellent dessert after polishing your pizza off. As I briefly mentioned, the big drawback for me here is price - they tend to be more expensive than other pizza places in the area. They do give you 10% off once you spend $50 I believe, which is nice, but things here add up QUICKLY. Stick to pizza only and you'll do ok. Pepi's offers local delivery and has dine in options in the aforementioned restaurant. They have plenty of seating for large groups and service is usually prompt and friendly each of the times I've dined in. This is easily 3 1/2 stars with the extra 1/2 coming from those vintage games :) read more

I grew up in Canastota and always ordered from Pepis. It used to be the best pizza. For years I've always told everyone that this was the best pizza I'd ever had... it's not anymore. They changed the recipe. It's nothing now, barely better than gas station pizza. What a shame. They remade the interior and it's a box with a bad paint job. Wow, what a great experience!! We were looking for something other than a fast food burger joint, which was basically all we had eaten for several days of a road trip. I had doubts that pizza was going to really raise that bar much higher. While it's true that it was, in fact, pizza we were eating rather than a harvest quinoa bowl or other some such hipster health fare, I feel happier and more well fed than I have at a restaurant in a long time. The "family special" is a large cheese pizza with a pitcher of your choice of beverage, salad, and fried dough. The pizza was very good (we asked for pepperoni), the salad was great, and the fried dough (which we got to-go because we were so full of pizza) is beyond amazing! The special also included 20 tokens to the game room, which my 3 and 7 year old boys loved. While we waited for our dinner, my youngest wanted to go watch the "pizza man," who was very artfully tossing a pizza dough high into a reverse-type chimney: a hole in the ceiling especially made to throw dough as high as possible. My kid was going berserk over this spectacle, shouting epithets like, "Holy Guacamole!" and "Oh my Papa!" The pizza man thought this was hilarious, and after sharing that his grandfather was the man displayed in the photo on the wall (a man who had an obviously robust sense of humor), he honored us by giving my boys "Piece. Love. Pizza." T-shirts. We really just had a really great time, and will do our best to make sure that was not our last visit. read more

The pizza here is always great. We've been ordering here for years and make it a point to drive from Clinton to Oneida for pick-up. We usually place an order for 3 pizzas as we have a large family. The prices here are FAR better than what I pay for mediocre pizza here in Clinton or New Hartford. Love, love, love this pizza! Went tonight after getting the car from Nye service. Our server Kalin was friendly and apologetic about the potential wait for a pie. We ordered salads wings... extra crispy and a cheese pizza. Salads came with our drinks and were fresh and crisp as we finished our salads about 5 min our wings came. They were perfectly cooked and tasty. We ate just over half of our 24 wings and were cleaning up and within less than 5 minutes out came the pizza. Everything was delicious. The staff as we were leaving were gracious and there was one other server who helped us, didn't get her name but she also was cheerful and nice to be around. Highly recommend Pepi's in Oneida NY. Not what I would expect from a "family restaurant". The staff are all standing around behind the counter swearing & carrying on about who they have had sex with & who they want to. All in earshot of the patrons & children. Service was backwards & confused. Multiple staff attempting to wait on the same tables. Yet none of them can check on you to see if you need anything else. None of them could stop by to see if we needed more drinks or to see how the food is or to come & clear the table of used dishes. We had to buss our own table & get our own drink refills. The food was not great either. It was more bar food than family restaurant food. Don't bother asking for anything special like extra toppings, because you won't get them, but they'll charge you for it. Because the wait staff is taking the orders & charging you for it, but they do not check your food to make sure it is what you ordered. So the cooks are not held accountable for their work & what you ordered. Sure the decor is family oriented, but the staff & the food are not. read more

Our pizza sat on the table across from us for 10 minutes before the staff realized it was the wrong order (family was playing games and not at table when served). The server then picked up the pizza and put it on our table and left. No apologies or offer to get us a new order. Another table's wings were served to us and we had to flag down the server to let her know it wasn't our order. Pepi's used to be THE place to go. The pizzas were great, the games were magnificent, and generally there was nothing wrong with it. Well, I can't speak to the games since I ordered delivery but the pizza is definitely not what I remember. It's okay. It's pizza to have with a beer or two on a hot day when you don't want to cook but there are better, more delicious pizzas in the area. I've enjoyed Pepsi for many years now. Usually we order take out and it's usually really good though we have had a few instances in the past when it hasn't been great. Recently we've dined in a couple of times as we have had out of town friends visiting. Both times were a hit and the food was great. We did have to correct one receipt when it was rang up wrong and we were overcharged, however our waitress fixed this immediately when we brought it to her attention. Pepi's pizza is delicious--thin, crisp, and cheesy. It's a local favorite, and there are a handful of Pepi's locations throughout Oneida and the surrounding towns. The Oneida location is popular with families and kids because of its vintage arcade and playful vibe. (Side note: this is a great place for enthusiasts of classic arcade games, all of which are still in working order!) The Oneida restaurant was recently renovated and has a much more modern look than it once did. Yes, it's brighter, more updated and probably cleaner than it was before. Still, I miss the dim lighting and vintage feel of the old place. It felt like it had been stuck in time from the '80s. I can see why they felt the need to renovate but I'm sad that the old Pepi's is gone forever. They have tried to retain elements of the original restaurant (the old glass Pepsi lampshades, the game room, the toy train, even a handwritten list of game room rules that surely must be thirty years old) but it's not quite the same.
