Fuji is a small hiding place that I found after a hair consultation next door. My husband and I visited on a Friday afternoon hoping to have found "the place" in Richmond Hill since we are foodies. We ordered the pork egg rolls, edamame, the special of the day "spicy jalapeño roll" with mayo and sriracha, and lastly a chicken teriyaki hibachi lunch with a house salad. We had two large Sapporo. Egg rolls- 100 % made in-house! A solid 10. Edamame-hot and steamy how it should be! -10. Spicy jalapeño roll-fresh fish, good flavor, and the perfect amount of spicy. -8 Chicken teriyaki- was the lunch portion, it had fried rice and, a mix of veggies served with soup or salad, we got salad. -8. Did not expect to find such a good sushi place in a small town like this. I wish this place is near my house! We stopped by on the way home from our trip. We ordered the sashimi appetizer, 7 pieces for $8.5, I don't think you can find better prices than this. Now for the quality, the tuna and salmon is fresher than the one you can buy at an asian market, what hit home run for me was the yellow tail and the red snapper, it was extremely fresh, and not many places carry these. We also ordered the shrimp tempura, 3 shrimps and 4 veg tempura for $6.50. The batter was on point, very crispy and light, it is so simple, yet so many restaurants cannot pull it off. Next up we ordered the snow mountain and godzilla roll. They were both flash deep fried and honestly, I do not remember what was in them. I just know it tasted spectacular. We got takeout from here this evening and got the steak and chicken combo, which came with salad, miso soup, and fried rice. They were very fast with the prep time, was 20 min and it was ready: I like the fact they don't put egg in the rice. I was disappointed that they only included white sauce and not the ginger sauce for the steak. The food lacked flavor overall, compared to other hibachi restaurants. Wish I tried this place sooner. The waiting area is very small and when we came it was over flowing. We already were hungry and almost walked out but a gentlemen said they had just cleared a lot of tables and were understaffed. We stayed. Food was not that behind even with door dash orders. Servers were still attentive even though they were stressed. It's an expensive date night type place but well worth it. I cannot wait to try it again. read more

If you want a salad floating in gross water this is the place. My hibachi "veggies" were the tough part of onion skins and giant uncooked zucchini chunks. Sushi is mid at best. Just go get some other cuisine. The rice was off, tasted like it was about to expire, or already had. When we showed our waitress the salad floating in water she was super confused about why we wouldn't want to eat that. So this is a small place and when we came in the floor was sticky. I was not impressed with the food. The sushi eel sauce had like Burt taste to it and the miso soup had a very strange taste. The taste was not good. Also when the food came out the rice was salty and meat was way over dressed with teriyaki sauce. Not Afraid to be Vegan Friendly Ordered the Vegetable Hibachi, called it in as a to go order. It was ready by the time I got there. When I asked if it was vegan she assured me it would be, was very kind. Good flavor and vegetable combinations. The food quality is good-the vegetables cooked to perfection and fresh.
