Came here wanting to try African food (especially fufu) cause I've never had it before. I think this may be more west African cuisine. The server and even another customer were super friendly in helping us choose what to eat. We got to try some samples for free to pick the dishes we ended up buying. I was able to get the egunsi soup combo ($21.99) split with the spinach, it also would've came with a meat but we decided to get the yam porridge cause we liked the sample. This came with a fufu. Fufu was super interesting as the texture was a bit slimy. I liked it though and tried it with everything and it tasted good with everything. Also got the ayamashe ($22.99) which had beef and fish, also came with an egg. It was quite spicy. I got sweaty eating it. The plantains were so soft and sweet.

The ladies here are so sweet! We came here wanting to try out African cuisine. They prepared a little sampler set for us to try; a few customers had also recommended a few items for us. Our group had a little bit of everything - stews, different rice dishes. Portions are huge here! Everything was delicious and we enjoyed it. We even got to try the fufu, which went well with all of the dishes we picked.

The chicken suya is VERY GOOD! I'll be back for that for sure! This place is great because you can walk in, go to the counter, point to what you want, and be on your way very quickly. The display of ready foods has different soups, meats, The ayamase is nice and spicy, plus the amount of meat served is generous. I don't like organ meat (liver/kidney) so I didn't enjoy that, but the honeycomg tripe was great! Def recommend you confirm what meats are in different stews before you order. This place is cute and from what I've heard and experienced - they're really consistent. Please check them out and tell them Tobi at BiteClubATL sent you **PS. The restaurant owner helped me take photos in front of the wall - she's really sweet!

October 2022 S U M M A R Y The food tasted good but there's some serious sanitation issues as I had a horrible case of food poisoning after eating here. I won't return. T A S T E I got the Abula. Amala, Ewedu, bean soup and red soup. I asked for extra red soup and got beef, shaki and Pomo as my three meats. At the time that I ate it - it tasted absolutely delicious and the meat was well cooked and flavored. The portion size was also large. This was my second visit here eating the Abula. S E R V I C E Service was ok. We did not sit down. We went to the counter and stated what we wanted as we watched a guy out the food in a Togo bowl (imagine a cafeteria line or something). The owner was sitting at the bar and was friendly but wasn't too professional - she started asking a lot of personal questions and I don't know her. It was also the end of the day and because I asked extra soup - she charged me a lot more than the price. So clearly - the soups are not made fresh daily - hence what probably led to the food poisoning. A M B I E N C E Decorated similar to other Nigerian spots. Nothing to complain about but nothing to rave about either. P R I C E 28$ for Abula + 5-6$ for extra soup. R A T I N G 1 star because I got a horrible case of food poisoning and had a short stay in the hospital. It was around my birthday so it delayed some of my plans as well.

Not to my liking.. I got 2 veggies and fufu with a side of plantain, and my nephew got the meal which came with one meat and two veggies. And two drinks. I was charged $73.00!! This was my first time at this restaurant and my first time eating Nigerian food. Perhaps this is how it is. Since I have nothing to compare it to, I'll have to tell you my first impressions of the food. The fufu and the juice drink with sorrall were the only things I liked. I was very excited to try the Jollof rice. I had heard so much about it, and I enjoy rice, so I was looking forward to it. The rice was slightly dry and had a smoky charred taste. Maybe that's how it tastes, but I was not a fan. The chicken was so hard we could not eat it. It was almost as if it was fried until it was super crispy and then put in sauce but the chicken was so hard the sauce couldn't penetrate it. The veggies were okay. I liked the spinach dish the best. The yam porridge gave the look of sweet potatoes, but it was not sweet. It was bland. I thought the plantain would be sweet but they were dry, rubbery, and bland. I told the server this was my first time eating Nigerian and he was gracious enough to allow me to sample a few of the sides before I ordered which I was grateful for. I probably should have left after sampling because nothing was really delicious to me, but my godson had his heart set on trying Nigerian so I selected things I thought I could tolerate. I love foods from other countries. As a black American I've wanted to try Nigerian for a long time. I thought somehow the food would resonate with me, but it didn't. Unfortunately, I was in the bathroom for an hour when I got home. The little I did eat and drink didn't agree with me. It may have been the sorrall juice drink. It was delicious, but the label said it was unpasteurized and could upset your stomach if you were not used to it. I fell into that category. It will be a long while before I try Nigerian again.

Fufu, egusi, jollof rice with beef, and meat pie

I recently tried this restaurant's jollof rice, egusi, and fufu. I was so happy to finally be able to try this place. I had the egusi with fish and beef, and it was super flavorful. I loved the fish more than the beef because the beef was a bit tough. However, some pieces were soft so I hope their beef is typically soft. I had the jollof rice with beef and fried plantains, which were also super good. My favorite was definitely the egusi soup and fufu. The best thing about the place is the owner. She's super nice and makes you feel welcome no matter who you are. I think they recently did some renovations in the restaurant, so I can't wait to go back to see the changes and try other items on the menu.

WOW! I wasn't…read moreexpecting anything other than a sloppy, coarse sugary sweet dessert that would be just okay, but after one spoonful, I knew I was so wrong. SnoBayou snowballs are easy enough to make. First you pick two flavors (or one flavor twice). Their flavors include: Strawberry Ga Peach Lemon Blackberry Pineapple Watermelon Then you add your stuffing ($1 extra), which comes as either: Vanilla Ice Cream Strawberry Ice cream Lemon Sorbet Finally you add your toppings ($0.50 extra). You can choose between Sno cream (Real whipped cream) or Sweet cream (condensed milk) Snowballs also come in mini ($4), regular ($5), or large sizes ($6) For my regular snowball ($6 total), I got watermelon and GA peach flavors, with strawberry ice cream as the stuffing, and whipped cream as the topping. They pour the stuffing first, then wrap the shaved ice around it. The shaved ice is very smooth, and is loosely held onto the icecream. None of the flavors are strong or sugary sweet, because the flavors come from fresh fruit, and that really makes a difference! I thought the regular size was enough for me, but if you're hungry or it's a hot day, The large might be up your alley. Customer service was great! I was walked through all the toppings and they were more than happy to give their own recommendations, but still let me choose my own toppings. I didn't try all the food trucks at the Alpharetta Food Truck Rally, but of the ones I tried, SnoBayou stole the show. I'll be looking for them!

A few neighbors had shown up and left because they didn't have everything. I opted for the Lemon Pepper Wings and because they were missing food items, they made me modified fries - Bacon Ranch fries. They never really told me what they were missing, but a couple of items I asked for, the woman just said "we don't have that tonight." I paid, they gave me a number and walked around while they cooked my food. It was ready pretty quickly and I headed back to my place. Everything was pretty delicious. The wings were spot on, except very salty. I could handle it, but most people I think it would be WAY too much. I believe the sign said the wings also had Old Bay, but I may have read it wrong - whatever it was, they were damn good. The seasoning salt on the fries was good, but the fries were not crunchy enough for me. The bacon and ranch combo was great as well. I'm a definite fan, but they were not serving about half their menu - so they lost a star for that. I was unable to order what I planned to. I hope to run into them again somewhere and try their skins and other items I was looking forward to tasting.
